The only really significant figure above is the one with the asterisk, because it applies to the entire month of March. The other records are daily records, and in isolation don't mean much. So for instance, the coldest temperature recorded for March 11th at Edmonton is now -38 deg. C, recorded this year. But on March 10th or March 12th even colder temperatures could have been recorded at this location decades ago. This is not to say that records broken on a day-to-day basis are meaningless, because if you get enough day-to-day records broken within a short time-span (say a week's worth within a given month, or more than usual over a 3-year span) then it can start to point to some kind of cooling.
