Hundreds of villages were hit last night by a violent storm. In some, the hail balls as big as tennis ball and the rain smashed plantations and roofs, in others, the rain flooded gardens and cellars.
Many portions of roads were blocked by fallen trees.
Scores of households were flooded in the village of Magdacesti, near Chisinau.
Rescue teams now pump the water out of the people's cellars and houses.

Large lightning strike seen during severe storms in Myrtle Beach South Carolina
As over 1,000 lightning strikes were recorded in the Myrtle Beach area Wednesday afternoon, one viewer took a spectacular slow-motion video of one bolt striking the ocean. Nathan Polk was rolling from the 6th floor of his condo off Ocean Boulevard, near 17th Avenue North, when lightning struck off-shore. The First Alert Weather Team's weather information system recorded over 1,000 lightning strikes in Myrtle Beach and the surrounding area as a storm rolled through at about 1 p.m. Wednesday.
Two persons died and four others were injured after being struck by a lightning at Sersere in Basamadi of Hetaunda Sub-Metropolitan City-27, Makwanpur on Saturday evening.
According to the District Police Office, Makwanpur, the deceased have been identified as Tara Rumba (46) and Kumar Bal (25) of Sersere, Basamadi.
Police said that Anju Rumba (18), Chongsang Bal (13), Krishna Bahadur Bal (55) and Sun Maya Rumba (45) were injured in the incident.
The injured are receiving treatment at the Hetaunda Hospital, police said.
At least 11 children and one adult have drowned after three tourist vessels were caught in a lake storm in Karelia, northwest Russia, the Investigative Committee said. All the children were from Moscow, Mayor Sergey Sobyanin said, citing preliminary data.
"There has been a great tragedy in Karelia," Sobyanin said. "According to the preliminary data, 10 children from Moscow have died on Lake Syamozero. Condolences to the families and friends [of the victims]," the mayor wrote on Twitter.
The tourist group that got caught in the storm consisted of two boats and one raft, according to information from the Emergencies Ministry. Rescuers have managed to save 11 people so far, the ministry said in a statement.
There were 47 children and 4 adults on board the three tourist vessels, Investigative Committee spokesman Vladimir Markin said in a statement.
Only those children who were in life vests managed to survived, children's rights ombudsman Pavel Astakhov wrote on Twitter.
A tornado whizzed through Xanthi, a city in Thrace, northeast Greece, spreading panic and destruction in its path early on Tuesday.
The extreme weather phenomenon came in the wake of three earlier tornadoes that had swept through the plains of Xanthi. Destruction was noted at the municipalities of Avdiron and Topirou, whereas problems were also noted at Komotini, where crops were destroyed.
The bad bout of weather also caused problems to traffic with various points of the network cut off, chiefly in settlements of the Municipality of Arrianon, such as Dokos and Vragia.
Cars were swept away by the rush of flood water. Residents are now counting the damage to breeding units and crops. The Fire brigade and police are also on alert.
Violent storms killed four people and injured several others across Poland, also leaving serious property damage in their wake, local media reported.
A 61-year-old man died, crushed by a tree yesterday while driving his car in the central town of Zgierz. His two passengers were hospitalized in serious condition.
Two other men also died, crushed by walls blown over by violent winds in the towns of Niechlonin in the north-west, and Zaluski in central Poland.
A woman drowned in the northern city of Elbag when a pedestrian bridge collapsed into a river swollen by heavy rain.
High winds ripped off roofs and toppled trees causing property damage in various locations across the country, while heavy rains triggered local flash flooding.
Baseball-size hail, damaging winds and at least one possible tornado raked through Virginia, Maryland and the District on Thursday in the region's most intense severe thunderstorm day so far this year.
Five tornado warnings were issued in the D.C. region Thursday afternoon and night, beginning with storms west of Interstate 81 in Morgan and Berkeley counties in West Virginia. As the storms tracked southwest, tornado warnings were issued for parts of Clarke, Loudoun and Fauquier counties. The National Weather Service said it will be inspecting damage in Morgan County and that it is considering surveying reports of possible tornado damage in Berkeley and Clarke counties.
As of 11 a.m., none of the possible tornadoes had been confirmed. Photos taken during the storms do not actually indicate that any of the funnels were on the ground.
Hailstones the size of baseballs fell in Middleburg, Va., on the border of Loudoun and Fauquier counties. Numerous cars were damaged, their windshields blown out and bodies dented.
A state of emergency for nine counties in Oklahoma was declared on 14 June 2016 after severe floods and storms in the state that began Saturday 11 June, 2016.
The counties covered in the declaration are: Caddo, Carter, Comanche, Cotton, Garvin, Grady, McClain, Murray and Stephens, although further counties may be added in the future.
In the declaration, Oklahoma Lieutenant Governor Todd Lamb said:
"Since Saturday, these Oklahoma counties have experienced flooding, severe storms, tornadoes and straight-line winds. Initial reports show damage in numerous communities including Apache, Cyril, Lawton, Maysville and Walters. Further damage assessments are ongoing."
The executive order allows state agencies to make emergency purchases related to disaster relief and preparedness. It is also the first step toward seeking federal aid should it be necessary.
The National Weather Service said that as much as 9 inches (228 mm) of rain fell in the morning of 12 June in Maysville, Garvin County.
High levels of rain since 14 June 2016 have caused major flooding in the Peace River Regional District in northeastern British Columbia, Canada.
Dawson Creek and Chetwynd, around 100km west, are two of the worst hit areas. Evacuations have been carried out and flooding has caused severe damage to roads and infrastructure. However, no injuries or fatalities have occurred.
On 15 June, the Mayor of the District of Chetwynd declared a state of local emergency within District of Chetwynd boundaries as a result of the floods. According to Environment Canada, 79 mm of rain had fell in Chetwynd by noon on June 15, 2016.
"We all need to take measures to ensure our families, structures and livestock are safe at this time," stated Mayor Merlin Nichols.
In Dawson Creek, 60 residences were evacuated due to flooding from the creek that cuts through the centre of the city, said Mayor Dale Bumstead.
Two minor boys were killed in a lightning strike at Sardarpara village in Melandah upazila of the district yesterday.
The deceased is Abdul Alim, 10, son of Ramjan Ali, and Raihan, 6, son of Fulu Mia, of the village.
Locals and victims' family members said a streak of thunderbolts struck the two boys while they were playing in a field during rain around 3:00pm, leaving them seriously injured.
Villagers took them to Melandah Upazila Health Complex where the doctors declared them dead, Kishmat Pasha, chairman of Nangla union parishad said.
