UK: 'Freaked out' BBC reporter tells millions of radio listeners of the moment he faced a UFO on his way to work

It's a radio station known for irreverent chat, where current affairs and topical discussion reign supreme.

But Radio 5 Live took on a more otherworldly tone this morning when one of its own sports reporters claimed he had a close brush with a UFO.

'Freaked out' sports journalist Mike Sewell said he was left gobsmacked when he spotted a huge 'disc-shaped' aircraft hovering above the Hertfordshire countryside on his way to work in the early hours of the morning.

Mr Sewell was driving from his home in the Midlands to catch an early morning flight from Stansted airport when he saw the UFO in the night sky over the village of Cottered, near Buntingford, he claimed.

He called his employers at Radio 5 Live and his interview with presenter Nicky Campbell was broadcast to millions of listeners.

Only a day after the last reported UFO sighting in the Northern Territory a Katherine man has not only seen a mysterious object in the sky - he also took photos of it.

David Schuman was having dinner with his boss Phil Richardson near Katherine's Strongbala Men's Healing Centre last Tuesday when an "unusual large star" caught their eyes.

"We were both seated around the dinner table, discussing various subject matters and running through the day's events when all of a sudden the boss changed the subject and said in a slightly raised tone 'Hey, that's an unusually large star - I have never seen one as big as that before and in fact that's too big for a star, what is that?," Mr Schuman said.

"Through the open window we saw a very large brightly lit object and it just stood there, hovering there for 20 minutes or more, and motionless above the tree line."

A formation found in a field in West Woodhay earned the wonder of many, but the ire of the landowner

This spectacular formation appeared overnight last Thursday (July 28) in a field at West Woodhay. It immediately attracted hundreds of sightseers and earned the ire of landowner Harry Henderson.

The formation, dubbed the cosmic serpent by enthusiasts, spans 11 tractor tram lines is one of the largest ever seen in the UK. Mr Henderson said: "People think these things are wonderful and appear in their thousands but to the farmer they're just a costly nuisance. Some say it's to do with aliens but it's not - it's a team from Holland. They've been caught at it."

However some formations are not so easily explained away, with stalks being individually bent halfway up, and rent by steam holes as if from a mysterious heat source.

Physics World magazine this month speculated that the high-tech creators of the latter are somehow using microwaves generated by a device called a magnetron, directed by GPS satellite.

Roswell, New Mexico, 1947: Debris was recovered from a site, in New Mexico, allegedly extraterrestrial, including, some people believed, alien corpses. Officials described the fragments as the remains of a weather balloon. Both the CIA and FBI quickly quashed the rumours, some say too quickly.

El Cajon - Stacey Gibson can't tell you what she captured on home video, but she can tell you she's never seen anything like it before.

"We were just, wow, this is weird, this is strange. What's going on?" she said.

Just before 10 p.m. Sunday, Stacey's husband Todd was walking the dogs when two bright orange and white lights appeared to be moving in sync across the sky.

"I've seen planes, I've seen satellites, there's always tiny blinking lights, there wasn't anything like that with this. It was solid, one color the entire time," Todd said.

For five minutes, the mysterious lights shifted from north to south before they suddenly disappeared.

An Indian farmer and father of two had a hysterectomy after doctors discovered a "full female reproductive system" in his lower abdomen.

The Indian man, identified as Ryalu, was admitted to a hospital near Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, after complaining of severe stomach pains.

Doctors suspected a normal hernia, but when they carried out an exploratory operation they were shocked to discover it had been caused by a female uterus, ovaries, Fallopian tubes, a cervix and underdeveloped vaginal tissue.

Dr Pramod Kumar Shrivastava, a surgeon at the Chhindwara district hospital said the patient had external male organs, was fit from working in the fields, and lived a normal life.

"Usually the contents of the Hernia Sac are abdomen organs like large intestines and small intestines but when we operated on the patient we were surprised to find female reproductive organs. We have removed the organs through a hysterectomy and repaired the hernia.

GPS, Lasers and Microwaves Hold The Key, Says a U.S. Physics Prof

Explanations for the sophisticated patterning of crop circles vary, but science, with a hint of art, can explain the craft and speed of their creation, says a U.S.-based Professor of Physics, Psychology, and Art.

In this month's edition of Physics World, Richard Taylor, director of the Materials Science Institute at the University of Oregon, said the phenomenon is growing as technology advances.

Tackling with this topic that critics may claim is beyond scientific understanding, Taylor said physics could hold the answer. Specifically, Global Positioning System (GPS), lasers and microwaves were named as the most modern means to create the spectacular patterns.

GPS enables the artists to cover vast spaces with absolute precision, suggested Taylor.

A new Bigfoot movie popped up on YouTube Monday, this time from Kansas, not normally a hotbed of Sasquatch activity. The video is, as usual, very shaky. Why can't people learn how to use a camera when they shoot these things? Maybe they're truly scared?

The one-minute video shows a loping "creature" passing from tree to tree as a family shoots from the other side of a fenced-in area. The quick glimpses of the mystery cryptid recall the film that started it all, the Roger Patterson movie.

Comments from the family making the video sound authentically surprised, with a mom, pop and child. Dad sounds like a cartoon character himself, but the kid sounds pretty scared. Mom becomes a true believer...

Creature Found Dead Last Week In Juneau County

There's yet another claim that a mysterious, unknown creature is roaming around south-central Wisconsin.

Last week, a Juneau County man claimed he found a hairless, mysterious looking creature along side a highway just outside Elroy. A debate ensued -- was it just a sick animal, the legendary goat-sucking Chupacabra, or something else?

Whatever it is, a group of children in Montello said they have one living in their neighborhood. They claim they saw the same creature -- alive -- roaming around last week.

"The head looked like a rat, and then the body looked like a fox. It had fangs and it had really long toes," said Shane Turner, who said he came within five feet of the creature.

Turner said it ran through the outfield while he and friends were at baseball practice.

An ocean exploration team led by Swedish researcher Peter Lindberg has found what some are suggesting is a crashed flying saucer. Lindberg's team, which has had success in the past recovering sunken ships and cargo, was using sonar to look for the century-old wreck of a ship that went down carrying several cases of a super-rare champagne. Instead, the team discovered what it claims is a mysterious round object that might (or might not) be extraterrestrial.

Lindberg explained to local media that his crew discovered, on the 300-foot-deep ocean floor between Finland and Sweden, "a large circle, about 60 feet in diameter. You see a lot of weird stuff in this job, but during my 18 years as a professional I have never seen anything like this. The shape is completely round."

Adding to the mystery at the bottom of the Gulf of Bothnia, Lindberg said he saw evidence of scars or marks disturbing the environment nearby, suggesting the object somehow moved across the ocean floor to where his team found it.
