A Tobago fisherman was left in awe on Monday morning after a huge waterspout developed over the western end of the island.
National Geographic describes a waterspout as "a column of rotating, cloud-filled wind. A waterspout descends from a cumulus cloud to an ocean or a lake. Waterspouts are similar to tornadoes but are usually smaller and less intense."
The waterspout was spotted just after 9 am by motorists and residents near the Store Bay area.
The rain that fell this Sunday afternoon (17) in Uberlândia caused flooding, falling trees and an infiltration caused the opening of a store at the Center Shopping.
According to the Fire Department, the Central region was the most affected with 35.2 mm of rain accumulated in about 30 minutes. Last Friday (15), Inmet issued a new storm alert for the Triângulo and Alto Paranaíba regions.
Avenida Rondon Pacheco, at the height of Bairro Santa Maria, was flooded and some cars were dragged by the flood. The pressure of the current came to form waves, but still people took risks in the middle of the current.
In Bairro Umuarama there was a record of hailstorms, as well as in Bairro Marta Helena, which also registered a windstorm.
Two people were killed and three others sustained serious injuries when they were hit by lightning here on Sunday, police said.
The incident occurred in Behrha village under Khairighat area of the district, they said.
SHO of Khairighat Police Station Rajkumar Singh said some villagers were grazing cattle when it started raining. They took shelter under a mango tree and were struck by lightning.
The five injured were taken to a health centre where Santosh Kumar (45) and Chandan (30) were declared dead by the doctors, he said.
The other three were referred to Bahraich Medical College, he added.
Search and rescue operations are continuing Sunday morning after a group of adults and students attending a nature camp were swept away by a flash flood in Shuangxi District, New Taipei City, Saturday afternoon.
New Taipei City Fire Department received reports that a group of students and teachers had been swept away by a sudden surge of water in a stream on the Hubao Pond Trail at 4:38 pm.
A group of 31 people taking part in a nature camp were hiking on the Hubao Pond Trail when heavy rain began to fall at around 4:00 pm. The group of 16 adults and 15 children and teens turned back to return to the carpark. Five adults and four children had made it safely across the Beishi River by crossing on a slit dam when the water level suddenly rose.

A "rare" and dangerous tornado-like waterspout has hit in a bay on the south coast of Cuba.
The sinister looking meteorological event saw the spout descend from dark, ominous clouds at around 5pm on Saturday Cuba time, close to the city of Cienfuegos.
