A waterspout was seen hovering over the sea off the northwestern coast of Saint Lucia around 1:50 p.m. on September 25.

The funnel-shaped cloud was visible from several vantage points, including the Castries city centre, where bystanders captured photos and videos that quickly spread online.

"I had to stop to capture this... what is this? Is that a tornado forming? ... Oh my God, oh no! This is amazing," one person can be heard saying in a video circulating on social media.

Another observer told the St. Lucia Times, "At first I was like, 'Is that a tornado?' Especially considering the gloomy weather at the time. After my initial surprise, I just thought it looked pretty cool."

The woman, 84, was rushed to intensive care but could not be saved.

The bear also staged a terrifying attack on a boy, 12, as he fled from the bear on Okeanskaya Street near a sports centre.

Fourth wolf attack claims girl's life in a district of Uttar Pradesh, India

The locals of Baba Patav village of Majhara Taukli area in Uttar Pradesh's Bahraich district are living in extreme fear and distress, given the attacks on children by wild animals.

A young girl was rushed to a hospital on Wednesday evening after being attacked by a wild animal, presumably a wolf, and she was declared dead. A total of four incidents have been reported in the Bahraich district within the past 15 days of sudden attacks by untamed animals.

Expanding early season snow cover in Russia

mmmmm
Discussion: Early season snow cover has developed over North/Northeast Russia (Fig. 1). The snow cover in that region for later September is above normal (Fig. 2). Snow cover expansion is likely.

The GFS 15-day temperature anomaly forecast indicates widespread cooler than normal temperatures with snow snowfall across Northern Russia and the attendant cool air mass extending southward (Fig. 3). Although the early season snowfall in this region is above normal, the snow is not unusual.

Given the constricted polar ice cap (Fig. 4) and early season colder wind extending across open water, advection snows can occur in far northern latitudes especially Northern Russia in early autumn. Of course, the snow cover biases the region cooler and can influence the prevailing weather pattern across Eurasia which features a partial extension of the cool regime described southwestward beneath a longwave trough and into the Black Sea region.

A caddie who had been struck by lightning during a rainy round of golf in Bangkok died on Tuesday.

The incident happened on Thursday at The Legacy Golf Club located on Panya Indra Road in Khlong Sam Wa district of Bangkok, where four golfers and four caddies were on the 17th hole.

Emergency responders were called to the scene at 5.30pm after being told that the caddies had been injured by a lightning strike. One of them, identified as Anurat Changsi, 37, sustained severe injuries and was taken to Sinphaet Hospital.

On Tuesday, a relative of Ms Anurat posted on Facebook that she had died of her injuries. The post drew numerous messages of condolence. The most liked message was from a woman who shared her experience about working as a caddie.

"One truth about being a caddie is that if the golfer doesn't stop, we can't stop. We walk in the rain and crouch down when there's lighting," a part of her comment reads.

"The best thing is to stop immediately when it rains, for the safety of both parties."

A portion of a busy road in Thailand's capital collapsed dramatically on Wednesday, leaving a 160ft-deep sinkhole in the ground.

Terrifying footage showed the moment a road dramatically gave way in front of Vajira Hospital in central Bangkok, pulling down several electricity poles and leaving water pipes exposed.

Vehicles were seen attempting to reverse as the floor opened up while pedestrians ran away from the site.

Images of the aftermath of the incident showed how the hole was filled with water after pipes burst.

Dozens of police and city officials cordoned off the site, while a pickup truck teetered precariously on the edge of the hole.

No casualties were reported, but three vehicles sustained damage, Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt said.
