Schools were evacuated as a precautionary measure while the water continues to flow through the city.

In other northern districts of Milan and in Lombardy, emergency services are also battling against flooding and blocked roads to rescue cars and clear traffic. According to the Italian news agency Adnkronos, 650 "technical emergency operations" were carried out by the fire department on Monday due to the bad weather front.
The provinces of Como, Monza, Varese and the metropolitan area of Milan, where three schools were evacuated, were particularly affected. To cope with the situation, 100 men from regional commands and other regions were sent to assist, bringing the operational strength to over 200 units.

An 'orange alert' for thunderstorms and vast flooding has also been introduced across both Paris and the Île-de-France region.
In Provence and the Alpes, 'intense, widespread and thundery' rainfall could reach as high as up to 70 to 90mm in some areas and, locally, 120mm in just a few hours, forecasters Meteo France warned.
Further south, 'hail, sometimes medium or large, strong electrical activity, violent gusts and even whirlwinds' are forecast, with temporary 'violent gusts of wind' expected near the coast in particular.

Flooding and mudslides carrying trees and rocks buried roads, damaged homes and trapped drivers in several southern California communities, authorities said.
The mudslides affected Forest Falls, Oak Glen and Potato Canyon in San Bernardino County on Thursday, the county's fire protection district said in a statement.
A group of about 10 people traveling in at least six vehicles was stranded on state Route 38 in the area of Jenks Lake, near the San Bernardino National Forest, the fire district said.
"Though cut off by debris in both directions, the group is safe and their needs are being evaluated by emergency crews," the district said.
The route was still closed as of Friday morning, the California Highway Patrol said.
