Police broke up skirmishes between groups of demonstrators a few blocks from the Republican National Convention as large crowds formed Tuesday afternoon. There was no immediate word on any arrests or injuries.

Members of the KKK, Black Lives Matter, and Westboro Baptist Church reportedly threw urine at each other and police had to step in in an attempt to keep the peace, a police spokesperson told KPLC.

A scuffle also broke out when conspiracy theorist and radio show host Alex Jones started speaking in downtown's Public Square. Police on bicycles pushed back a surging crowd, and Jones was whisked away.

Pokemon Go insanity continues: Baltimore driver rams into cop car while playing mindless app

Watch and learn: this man was playing Pokémon Go when he crashed his SUV into a police car in Baltimore. And at quite a speed, too. The video captured by an officer's bodycam shows the policemen chatting, with everything calm until... WHAM! A passing Toyota RAV4 SUV slams into the patrol car, then drives on. Though not for long. The officer wearing the bodycam approaches, and sees the driver (whose face is blurred).

"You guys are OK?" the serviceman asks.

"This is what I get for playing this dumbass game," the driver answers miserably.

There were other people in the car. Luckily, none of them was hurt in the crash.

After the incident, the Baltimore Police issued a message for local residents, warning them to be vigilant when playing Pokémon Go.

"It's a game, but it's not a game when you're behind the wheel," Baltimore Police spokesman T.J. Smith said at a news conference Tuesday. "This could have easily, easily been a tragedy."

Comment: Meanwhile in Bosnia, NGO Posavina Without Mines has had to issue a warning to Pokemon Go zombies to keep off minefields when searching for imaginary Pokemon. In Indonesia, authorities detained a French man for wandering into a restricted military base. Spanish police have had to remind people of such strange phenomena as "pedestrian crossings, traffic lights, street furniture". Manchester police might actually have more luck than they think:

Just when we thought humans couldn't devolve any further... It seems there is no limit.

The US and Canada, the two predominant countries leading the doping inquest against Russian athletes, are not geopolitical allies of Russia, so that's got to be borne in mind, journalist and broadcaster Neil Clark told RT.

The World Anti-Doping Agency [WADA] report into Russia's alleged state-sponsored doping during the 2014 Sochi Olympics has been delivered by Canadian lawyer Richard McLaren. The report concludes that Russian athletes' test samples were swapped and the process was controlled by the Ministry of Sport.

12-yo Palestinian boy killed in Israeli troops clash near Jerusalem, another run down by Israeli settler

A 12-year-old boy was shot dead by a rubber-coated bullet during clashes with Israeli troops not far from Jerusalem, the Palestinian health ministry reported. "Mohiyeh al-Tabakhi, 12, was killed by shots fired by occupation soldiers in the Al-Ram area near Jerusalem," the ministry said in a statement, cited by AFP.

Soldiers were dispatched to the area to disperse the demonstration with the help of tear gas grenades and sound bombs. Israeli forces denied using live fire against protesters during the confrontation. "After being pelted with Molotov cocktails, police used tear gas and stun grenades to disperse the protesters," Luba Samri, a police spokesperson, told AFP. "There was no live fire," she also said.

Israeli forces also suggested that the boy could have died as a result of a local dispute, Haaretz reported. The boy got a rubber-coated bullet to his chest and died from cardiac arrest, medical sources said, as cited by Palestinian WAFA news agency.

On Monday, an 11-year-old Palestinian boy was seriously injured in the West Bank after being run over by an Israeli settler car, local media reported. The incident happened in the town of Yatta, south of the city of Hebron in West Bank, the Coordinator of the National Committee against Settlements in Yatta Rateb El-Jabour said in an interview with Arabic-language daily Quds Press.

Comment: Rubber bullets are mainly used for riot control and dispersement of protests or animal control. They are "kinetic impact munitions" causing permanent disabilities, deformities or death. What a tragedy that Israel's undeclared war on the Palestinians manifests in killing innocent children. "No live fire?" A dead boy with a rubber coated bullet in his chest says otherwise.

Several shots have been fired at police officers in Brooklyn from a car that fled the scene of the shooting during which no one was hurt. An active search for the four suspects is underway.

Police have instituted a Level 1 Mobilization after NYPD officers were attacked on Flatbush Avenue and Ditmas Avenue in the Flatbush section of Brooklyn at about 10:40pm.

While no injuries have been reported, at least two shots were fired from a passing black Nissan four-door sedan that immediately fled the scene, police sources told New York Daily News.

Pages from a notebook found at the home of an Afghan teen who attacked passengers on a German train with an axe may be regarded as a suicide note, police and investigating officials said during a press-briefing on Tuesday.

Addressing his father, the young man asked him to pray that he could take revenge "on the infidels" and "get to Heaven," officials said.

The train attacker was "a devout Sunni," according to officials, who added that he didn't visit a mosque regularly, but had probably prayed privately. Having studied the man's presence on social networks, investigators said he had published a post against "enemies of Islam" some 24 hours before the attack.

One of the perpetrator's friends, with whom he often spoke by phone, had recently died in Afghanistan, the media were told, with investigators adding that it may have been a trigger for the assault.

Clueless and cruel: Photo-obsessed mob causes mountain goat to drown

A mountain goat in Alaska is dead after hordes of people trying to snap photos drove the panicked creature into the ocean.

The goat was spotted on Saturday afternoon near a harbor in the city of Seward, Seward City News reported. Alaska State Troopers started getting reports around 6:30 p.m. that people were harassing the animal and it had jumped into the ocean, according to the Alaska Dispatch News.

The goat came back on dry land, but it jumped into the water again after a large number of people starting following the animal, according to a statement obtained by The Huffington Post. The volume of people standing on the rocks appeared to prevent the goat from coming back on land, and the animal ultimately drowned in the ocean.

French police have arrested a Parisian taxi driver after explosives were found at his home during a raid over a separate criminal case. They also found a picture of an Islamic State flag on the phone of the man, who was on a watch list of dangerous individuals.

The 23-year-old, whose identity has not yet been revealed, was detained on Sunday at his home in the southeast of Paris, Reuters reports, citing government spokesman Stephane Le Foll.

Police came to the man's home to question him over his suspected involvement in a burglary case. Police believed the driver had robbed the empty homes of several of his clients after taking them to the airport.

Officers searched the house on suspicion that some of the stolen goods were hidden there, but instead discovered two sticks of dynamite, as well as several detonators and cables. All of the devices were reportedly fully operational. French media say the explosives were stored dangerously as they were exposed to heat, meaning they could have detonated unintentionally. However, the explosives have now reportedly been destroyed.

A 37-year-old man identified as 'Mohamed B' has stabbed a mother and her three daughters at a vacation center in southeast France for being dressed too lightly, local authorities said.

The man attacked the woman and her daughters - aged 8, 12 and 14 - in the resort town of Laragne-Monteglin in the Hautes-Alpes region, outraged at the fact that they were wearing shorts and T-shirts, local Deputy Mayor Jean-Marc Duprat said, according to AP.

The life of one of the daughters, an eight-year-old girl, is reportedly in danger and she is receiving treatment at a hospital in the town of Gap. Her mother and sisters, 12 and 14 years old, have also been admitted to the same hospital.

The incident happened at about 10am on Tuesday morning at the VVF vacation center located in the Garde-Colombe department in the Haute-Alpes area.

The attacker violently stabbed the woman and girls, before driving away from the scene. He was detained a few minutes later. Some local media suggested earlier that a possible religious motive may also have been behind the attack.

French media also said the man was not on the so-called 'Fiche S' list, associated with radicalized individuals.
