An Iranian bodybuilder has been arrested for publishing revealing photos of herself on social media, the judiciary's news agency reported on Wednesday.

"One of the female bodybuilders who recently published nude photographs on social networks has been arrested," the agency said.

In Iran, "nude" can refer to any woman who is not wearing a headscarf or revealing parts of her body such as arms and legs that must be covered in public.

The unnamed bodybuilder has been sent to prison because she was unable to post bail of two million rials ($50,000, 47,000 euros), the Mizanonline news agency said.

She is thought to be one of two women reported in September to have taken part in an international competition. Iranian women are allowed to take part in international sporting events, but must respect Islamic rules on clothing at all times.

WARNING: certain links below contain graphic descriptions of sexual relations with minors. Reader discretion is advised.

On January 16th, 2017, journalist James O'Keefe and Project Veritas released the first part of footage they had shot documenting attempts by the Anti-Fascist Coalition to commit acts of civil disobedience and protest during Donald Trump's Presidential Inauguration on January 20th.

The video reveals that during the investigation Project Veritas journalists met undercover with members of the Anti-Fascist Coalition, Luke Kuhn and Scott Green, at Comet Ping Pong to discuss ways to disrupt the "Deploraball" Inauguration event. Comet Ping Pong is a Washington D.C. pizza parlor which gained notoriety in late 2016 when online activists accused its owner, James Alefantis, of participating in child human trafficking. The scandal has been termed "Pizzagate" by the media.

Disobedient Media has obtained information indicating that Luke Kuhn made a number of posts online advocating for the legalization of pedophilia. Mr. Kuhn made the posts while a member of the Utopian Anarchist Party (UAP) during the late 1990's. The Utopian Anarchist Party has been identified in other online postings as having links to international child pornography and child exploitation.

On June 19, 1998, Mr. Kuhn made a usenet post in alt.anarchism where he advocated for teenage sex.

A February 2005 post references Mr. Kuhn's post and links the text of it in it's entirety. It also encourages people to search archive.org for archived versions of overthrow.com to find more posts by Mr. Kuhn.

Drowning in debt, college graduates refuse to give up luxuries

student loan debt
Most college students today graduate with debt, ranging from mild to severe. In most instances it borders on the severe and making these monthly payments is not an easy feat. In fact, a recent survey from Citizens Bank, college graduates are spending a stunning 18% of their monthly wages on student loan payments.

What's even more tragic is that roughly 60% of these students expect to be making these payments well into their 40's. You are tempted to feel sorry for these individuals until you find out that the bastards don't believe in cutting back. They think it's okay to spend on luxuries while being buried to the hilt in debt. To these morons, we say "you deserve all the pain you have inflicted upon yourselves."

Comment: This is a typical snapshot of the spoiled millennial generation - unwilling to shoulder the responsabilities of life while feeling entitled to their luxuries. As the author states, they're in for a rather rude awakening when the chickens come home to roost. There is little doubt that student debt is a scam, but the "ignore it and it will go away" strategy being employed by this generation is delusional in the extreme.

DAPL cops open fire on prayer circle with rubber bullets, shoot water protectors in the back

Morton County Sheriff's Department officers together with the National Guard began firing less-than-lethal projectiles, pepper spray, and, reportedly, mace on a group of water protectors at Standing Rock during what was supposed to be a prayerful, peaceful walk to the drill pad where work is rumored to continue on the Dakota Access Pipeline.

And all of this, of course, happens on the holiday honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. — who dedicated his life to non-violence to spark drastic change on the issue of civil rights.

Around 200 water protectors eventually grouped at the site of the drill pad, and three were arrested — accused of trespassing after cutting a razor wire fence and then allegedly tampering with industrial lighting.

As the crowd verbally taunted militarized police sporting riot shields and military gear, the situation Monday quickly tensed, and police began spraying people with mace. Soon after, as some water protectors sang and prayed, police fired rubber bullets at a few individuals, who then had to be transported away from the scene for medical assistance.

Reports from people at the camps indicated police brought in vehicles with water cannons just beyond the scene. In the video below, we can also see police open fire on water protectors with rubber bullets in their backs as they are running away from the tear gas.

Yup! Another Businessman/Reality TV Star vies for leadership of a country

Kevin O'Leary
Businessman/Reality TV star of Dragon's Den wants to be Prime Minister of Canada
Businessman Kevin O'Leary will enter the Conservative leadership race tomorrow, CBC News has learned.

The Montreal-born anglophone will launch his campaign in Toronto only hours after skipping the French-language debate, which will be held tonight in Quebec City, sources close to the candidate said.

The move comes a week after his campaign exploratory committee told the former CBC Television host there was a "clear path to victory" if he jumped into the crowded race to replace Stephen Harper as permanent leader of the Conservative Party.

Comment: It will be interesting to see what happens and if O'Leary becomes the front-runner for the Canadian Conservative Party. It seems Trump has opened the door for him, so to speak.

'Snowflaked' by the Nanny State? Maryland school web coordinator fired for correcting student's spelling on Twitter

Katie Nash

A Maryland school employee was fired last week after she jokingly corrected a student's spelling on Twitter.

Frederick County Public Schools' web experience coordinator Katie Nash thought she was doing what administrators wanted - engaging with students online - when she responded to a student Jan. 5 who wrote to the district's account: "@FCPSMaryland, close school tammarow PLEASE."

Nash shot back: "But then how would you learn to spell 'tomorrow?' :)"

"The students were tweeting back and forth, so it just sort of provided a natural opportunity to respond, in a fun, light-hearted way," Nash told WHAG.

"We had received feedback from some students in a focus group that our tweeting was a bit flat, they were looking for some more engagement," Nash said. "They were looking for us to tweet back at them and I really took that to heart because I know that I am a little bit older and maybe not as hip as some of the students are, so I took that to heart and I took that feedback in."

Many folks online thought the tweet was funny, and it was re-tweeted more than 1,000 times. It even spawned the hashtag #KatiefromFCPS.

But school officials apparently weren't laughing. Administrators told Nash to delete the tweet, the district's communication manager apologized to the student, and officials canceled her school social media privileges, The Frederick News-Post reports.

Question

What really happens to your donated clothes?

donation box
Most Americans have closets overflowing with clothing — some of which may rarely if ever be worn. Inexpensive clothing — so-called "fast fashion" — has become so common, it's not unusual for people to throw away clothes worn only once or twice.

In fact, Americans buy 500 percent more clothing today than we did in the 1980s. But the low price tag is deceptive. Upon further scrutiny, each item of clothing exacts a significant toll on the environment, and on human health across the globe.

Each year, Americans buy an astounding 22 billion items of clothing, and only 2 percent of these items are made in the U.S. Transportation alone, since each item has been shipped numerous times from country to country by the time it ends up in a retail store, creates an enormous amount of air pollution.

In an apparent reaction to decades of excess, recent years have seen a revival of "minimalism" and more environmentally-conscious fashion.

Bestselling books like Marie Kondo's "The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up" have led many to clear out their previously brimming closets. But what actually happens to all of the discarded clothing?

Fordham University succumbs to political pressure, bans Students for Justice in Palestine

Fordham University
Fordham University
Citing concerns that Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) would be too "polarizing" for the campus to tolerate, Fordham University denied status to a group of students seeking to establish an SJP club. Palestine Legal and the Center for Constitutional Rights wrote Fordham today to challenge the decision as a violation of free speech and civil rights. Fordham denied the club after delaying students' application for over one year, and after repeated questioning about their support for boycotts, divestment and sanctions (BDS) and whether they would work with the Israel lobby group J Street. There is no appeal.

"My own university told me I can't share my culture and history like other students because I'm a Palestinian who believes in Palestinian freedom," said Ahmad Awad, whose family is originally from the West Bank, and who hoped to be president of SJP. "I just graduated last month, so I'll never have that chance."

Palestine Legal's letter explains that when Fordham censored SJP, it violated free speech and academic freedom guarantees. It also states:
Title VI of the Civil Rights Act prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, or national origin by institutions that receive federal funding. A university may lose its federal funding if it treats a student differently because of his/her national origin, resulting in a denial of a student's educational activities.
In a letter to students denying the club status, Dean Keith Eldredge expressed concern that SJP's "sole purpose is advocating political goals of a specific group," that the group would lead to "polarization" and that "the call for Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions of Israel presents a barrier to open dialogue."

A gang of up to 30 youths armed with axes, swords and baseball bats terrorised a southern Paris neighbourhood on Saturday night for "reasons that remain unclear," French police said.

Eleven youths aged between 17 and 22 were arrested over the attacks and taken into custody. Their alleged accomplices, however, got away and are yet to be identified by police.

The masked attackers - who are said to have arrived by bus - ran amok in a residential area in Juvisy-sur-Orge, a tranquil suburb south of Paris, at around 8pm on Saturday.

But it took more than one hour for police to arrive at the scene, by which time the youths had smashed and vandalised more than 20 cars and broken down the door of a nearby apartment block.

Pope Francis: Bearing witness to the faith requires "word, heart and hand"

Pope
© Tiziana Fabi / AFP
Church attendance must be accompanied by good Christian deeds otherwise the parishioner becomes a "parrot" who only indulges in prayer but does no virtuous deeds in service to God, Pope Francis said.

"If I say I'm Catholic and every Sunday I go to mass but then I don't talk to my parents, I don't help my grandparents, the poor, I don't visit the sick, then there's no point," Francis told the faithful in Guidonia Montecelio on Sunday. "In that way, we're nothing but a Christian parrot: words, words, words."

"I wonder if you remember that song?," Pope asked, adding that bearing witness to the faith requires "word, heart and hands" to do God's work, such as spent time with family.
