A sperm bank boss used his own samples to impregnate women through IVF treatment, it has been claimed.

Parents and children are now going to court to ask for DNA tests on Jan Karbaat, who ran the Bijdorp clinic near Rotterdam in the Netherlands.

Mr Karbaat died last month aged 89.

Women who used the medical centre claimed they have noticed their children have similar features to Mr Karbaat and that features such as eye colour do not match their official donors' profiles, the Daily Telegraph reported.

One even said he had admitted the practice, boasting to her of his good health and intelligence, and claiming he told her it was a noble thing to do. "I see at home how my son's life has been affected. He was so angry when Karbaat died, and that he was taking this to his grave," she said.

Former NYPD cop gets 15 months for pimping hundreds of women to NY's elite

pimp cop Michael Rizzi
There are only eight counties in the United States where prostitution is legal, all in Nevada. But that didn't stop one retired police officer, who was drawing disability and receiving a pension, from starting up his own escort service, raking in millions of dollars in the process.

Unfortunately for Michael Rizzi (45), his fellow law enforcement officers found out about it and put a stop to it. Rizzi was arrested last year when it was discovered he operated 58 escort service websites.

The Department of Homeland Security investigated Rizzi and arrested him at his Brooklyn home in May of 2016. He was tried, convicted, and sentenced to 14 months in prison for money laundering.

Lee Baca former National Sheriff of the Year sentenced to 3 years for massive conspiracy

corrupt police
It's often been said — so much so it's now become cliche' — there are only a few bad apples in the police force. Well, if that's true, this next story serves to illustrate the entire apple tree is corrupt. Los Angeles county is the most populated county in the U.S., with over 10,000,000 citizens calling LA their home and on Friday, their former sheriff was sentenced to three years in prison for three different felonies for his role in a corruption cover-up.

What blows the bad apple argument entirely out of the water here is the fact that former Los Angeles Sheriff Lee Baca — was the National Sheriff of the Year — the highest honor of the National Sheriff's Association.

According to the LA Times, Baca was ordered Friday to surrender to federal prison officials by July 25, although he is expected to ask to remain free on bail while he pursues an appeal. No decision has been made on where he will serve his sentence. His defense attorney requested that he be assigned to a camp in Taft, Calif., or barring that, a camp in Oregon.

Tennessee governor signs bill banning abortions after 20 weeks

Abortion in Tennessee after the 20th week of pregnancy just became very difficult to legally justify, as a GOP-backed bill has been signed by a Republican governor. But the attorney general, also a Republican, has called the law "constitutionally suspect."

On Friday, Governor Bill Haslam signed the "Tennessee Infants Protection Act," a bill that prohibits physicians from performing abortions after the 20th week of pregnancy when a fetus is considered viable, able to survive outside the womb with or without medical assistance.

The bill would require physicians to determine the viability of a fetus through tests and get a second opinion from an independent physician. Any physician that performed an abortion on a viable fetus after 20 weeks would be committing a state felony unless the abortion would prevent the mother's death or cause "irreversible impairment of a major bodily function."

"The Tennessee Infants Protection Act prohibits purposely performing post-viability abortions, except when a physician determines in his or her good faith medical judgment that either the unborn child is not viable or that the procedure is necessary to prevent serious risk to the mother," Haslam said, according to a statement obtained by the Tennessean.

Poll: UK voters love Labour's manifesto, but not enough to vote Corbyn

UK England Britain Tories Labour Party Eletions

British voters back Labour's promise to nationalize the railways and tax the rich, but when it comes to choosing the country's next prime minister, Theresa May is still the favorite for the job, polling data shows.

According to a new ComRes poll for the Mirror, 52 percent of Brits support bringing the railways back into public ownership - one of Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn's flagship policies.

Nearly half agree with the leader of the opposition and want to renationalize the energy industry, compared to only 24 percent who want to keep it in private hands.

Comment: If this poll is accurate it's a shame. France missed the opportunity to elect an honest politician, and now the UK may be getting cold feet about Corbyn - is Europe experiencing a severe case of Stockholm syndrome? Time will tell.

A Human Rights Watch (HRW) official who was barred from entering Bahrain over his support for the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement has accused the Gulf state of infringing on free speech.

HRW director for Israel and Palestine Omar Shakir was detained for 18 hours at Manama Airport before being extradited back to the US. Sakir planned to attend a FIFA conference to raise awareness of the world football governing body's inaction against Israeli football clubs based in illegal settlements in occupied Palestinian territories.

Shakir told RT that he traveled to Bahrain to "raise the issue of FIFA sponsoring matches in illegal Israeli settlements... to hold meetings with delegates and representatives from FIFA and representatives to FIFA on the issue of Settlement clubs."

In an apparent episode of what the Kremlin called "Russian obsession," an American TV host and Democratic Party strategist, Julie Roginsky, has addressed her audience in Russian in an outburst against what she called "a hostile foreign power."

Roginsky opened her show in Russian, saying - and now we have to translate it back in English - "Welcome to our ClapBack show with Julie Roginsky, where we protect Twitter from all the people who send us horrible, horrible things every day."

Comment: Endless nonsensical entertainment. Trump is right, Russia and the World must be laughing at the US: Trump tweets: "Russia must be laughing", Comey better watch out, press briefings can't always be accurate

Norway's largest trade union body has voted in favor of economic, cultural, and academic boycott of Israel over its treatment of Palestinians. In response, Tel Aviv said that the union "placed itself shoulder to shoulder with the worst enemies of Israel."

The Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions (LO) made the decision at the Congress on Friday, local media report. The Congress is the organization's highest authority and holds its meetings every four years.

The Confederation should launch an effort "to achieve an international economic, cultural and academic boycott of Israel," representatives at the gathering stated. It is not yet clear, however, how the proposed ban would be implemented.

A woman with a spinal condition who requires a wheelchair was denied entrance into a Virgin Atlantic airport lounge because of her service dog. The woman, desperate to lie down to relieve neck pain, recorded her interaction with a Virgin employee.

Micaela Bensko recorded a recent encounter with a Virgin Atlantic lounge employee at JFK International Airport in New York. The staff member would not allow Bensko to enter the lounge even though she had paid for access in order to lie down before her flight.

The California woman says she specifically bought access to the lounge in order to rest given her condition arachnoiditis and complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) of the spine, doesn't allow her to stay seated for more than 30 minutes.
