Far-right Polish group leads anti-Semitic protest at Auschwitz during commemoration ceremony

Polish far-right activists enter the former German Nazi death camp Auschwitz-Birkenau
Far-right Polish nationalists organised an anti-Semitic protest during a HolocaustMemorial Day ceremony at Auschwitz.

The small group of hardline activists held their demonstration inside the former concentration camp at the same time as the official Holocaust commemorations on Sunday.

The 50 protestors from the Polish Independence Movement were led by Piotr Rybak, who was once jailed for burning an effigy of a Jew.

Mr Rybak told reporters they were there to oppose the official - and historically accurate - narrative that millions of Jews were murdered by the Nazis with the active collaboration of some Poles.

Comment: The Times of Israel reports that Polish prosecutors have since opened a probe into the protest:
Piotr Rybak, a far-right activist with a past conviction for burning an effigy of a Jew in 2015, could be seen in TV footage saying, "We must tell Jewish invaders... that we are masters of this country."

Mariusz Slomka, a deputy district prosecutor in Oswiecim, said Monday that prosecutors are investigating. In Poland, it is a crime to incite hatred based on religion or race.

5 Houston police officers injured in drug bust, 2 suspects dead

A hospital on Monday announced that it released one of the five Houston police officers injured earlier while serving a search warrant at a home of suspected drug dealers.

Two suspects were shot and killed in the exchange with police.

Houston police tweeted that the fifth officer was released Monday night after being treated for a gunshot wound to the shoulder.

Holocaust revisionism is worst in some of the EU's eastern members, according to a new study that argues governments are seeking to minimize the role of some in their country in the mass killing of Jews.

"Many European Union governments are rehabilitating World War II collaborators and war criminals while minimising their own guilt in the attempted extermination of Jews," the Holocaust Revisionist Report, which was sponsored by Yale University, Grinnell College and the European Union of Progressive Judaism, concluded.

"Revisionism is worst in new Central European members - Poland, Hungary, Croatia and Lithuania," the study found.

The family of Nick Sandmann has hired an aggressive, prominent litigator to pursue legal action against the media for defaming the 15-year-old Covington Catholic High School student because he wore a MAGA hat.

Sandmann's family selected L. Lin Wood of Atlanta after conducting an "extensive search to find a nationally-recognized attorney skilled in the fields of libel, defamation, and the First Amendment," according to a statement.

Wood issued the following statement about his next course of action:
In the coming weeks, we will be carefully reviewing all of the false accusations and threats made against Nick. We fully expect that a multitude of civil lawsuits will be filed and aggressively pursued.

We recognize that justice for Nick will not be achieved quickly, but we are dedicated to achieving it for this young man regardless of time or expense.

Delegitimizing the white male

We know that the white male has been delegitimized. Women's studies, black studies, Latino studies, and Identity Politics have been demonizing, and teaching hatered of, white males since the 1980s. But where did these hate-filled special interest groups get their power? The answer is that effete white males handed it to them.

It was white male university administrators who created the anti-white male propaganda degrees called women's studies and black studies. It is the white males in the Democratic Party who endorse Identity Politics, an ideology that puts responsibility for all the evil in the world on white males.

The latest white male collapse is that of the president of Notre Dame University. Catholics, themselves formerly a marginalized people in the United States and Great Britain, are guilty, according to Rev. John Jenkins, Notre Dame's president, of displaying in Notre Dame's main building a wall mural painted by Luis Gregori in 1880. In the Identity Politics that now rules even Catholic universities, the 1880 painting is viewed in the 21st century as depicting native Americans in stereotypical submissive poses before white European explorers.

I would bet that most Americans would not read the painting in this way. But in American everything is determined by the few.

Democrats have ganged up on former Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz, threatening to make him a "target" and ditch their morning coffee amid fears he can chip away at portions of Democratic with an independent 2020 presidential bid.

Schultz is facing backlash from both establishment Democrats and the wider left-wing camp after he told 60 Minutes' Scott Pelley on Sunday that he was "seriously thinking of running for president as a centrist independent." Schultz, a lifelong Democrat, has thrown his weight behind many anti-Trump causes - such as hiring 10,000 refugees in response to President Donald Trump's "Muslim ban". But the announcement has ruffled feathers with many in the anti-Trump crowd, who have now turned against him.

Justifying his decision, Schultz said that he believes that the both major parties are "consistently not doing what's necessary on behalf of the American people" and have instead become well-versed in "revenge politics."

He argued that the partial government shutdown that cost the US economy a mind-boggling $11 million according to one estimate - almost double the cost of Trump's proposed border wall - is "a reckless failure" of both the GOP and the Democrats.

Comment: As those in the Democratic party have already demonstrated, they will go to any lengths to defend their turf.

Independent Jewish Voices Canada (IJV) welcomes news that Beth Oloth Charitable Organization has had its tax-deductible status revoked by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).

According to a Global News story published this morning, Beth Oloth had been funding activities deemed non-charitable under Canadian law, including those that increase "the efficiency and effectiveness of the Israeli armed forces." The organization had also been funding Israeli projects in the occupied Palestinian territory, which the CRA has noted runs contrary to Canada's policy on the Israel-Palestine conflict.

"Well-meaning donors to Jewish community foundations may be surprised to learn that they have been funding illegal Israeli settlement activity," said Rabbi David Mivasair of Hamilton, Ontario. "The CRA doing its job and removing Beth Oloth's illegitimate charitable status strengthens our confidence that our generosity is not being abused."

The only thing more sinister than intentionally creating refugees, is weaponizing them as leverage to further coerce nations and advance hegemonic ambitions.

The United States and its allies have done both extensively - from exploiting the flow of refugees fleeing US-led wars in Libya and Syria - to the cynical exploitation of high-profile cases like Rahaf al-Qunun of Saudi Arabia and Hakeem al-Araibi of Bahrain - both of whom are fleeing autocratic regimes armed and propped up exclusively by the West.

In addition to creating the conditions ensuring a steady stream of refugees - the West has assembled an army of faux-rights advocates - most notably Human Rights Watch (HRW) and Amnesty International to shift blame from those responsible for the creation of refugees to those saddled with growing numbers of people seeking refuge within their borders.

Her family later found she had been viewing material on social media linked to anxiety, depression, self-harm and suicide.

There are many cheap and effective ways to provide safe water to the world's poor regions. But projects often fail due to inadequate planning, maintenance or persuasive power

For more than 2 billion people, safe drinking water isn't a given. Not for them a clean, reliable supply of treated water splurting out on demand from a kitchen tap - instead, they face often long treks to wells, rivers, pools of rainwater or faucets that yield water laced with disease-transmitting feces and other contaminants.

More than 500,000 deaths a year from diarrhea are linked to this very basic lack, and public health officials, philanthropic groups and researchers have worked to move the needle on the problem for decades.

So enthusiasm soared in the early 2000s for a new and compellingly simple approach. Instead of waiting for governments to act, or for projects that progressed at a snail's pace, what if villages and households were empowered to clean water themselves? A slew of cheap and easy technologies were available for the job.
