One person is reported injured after a wind turbine blade broke loose from a truck and crashed into traffic on Interstate 70 in Maryland.

It happened early Monday morning in Washington County, the Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) confirmed to Fox News Digital.

"At approximately 5:30 a.m., a tractor trailer traveling westbound on I-70 was pulling a wind turbine blade that struck the guardrail causing the blade to go partially into the eastbound lanes," a statement said. "The blade was then clipped by a tractor trailer traveling eastbound."

Suspected shooter in Idaho firefighter ambush identified

The alleged sniper who killed two firefighters and wounded a third in an ambush-styled attack in Idaho has been identified as Wess Roley.

The Associated Press reported, citing a law enforcement official, that Roley deliberately set a brush fire on Canfield Mountain, near Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, on Sunday, June 29 to lure first responders into a deadly trap.

The Kootenai County Sheriff's Office said fire crews responded to a blaze at Canfield Mountain just north of Coeur d'Alene around 1:30 p.m. Gunshots were reported about a half-hour later.

Comment: Further from the New York Post:
Roley's body was found near his weapon at the scene of a fire he started Sunday afternoon to lure unsuspecting smoke-eaters to the scene, a law-enforcement official told The Associated Press.

He ended up killing two responding firefighters and critically wounding a third, authorities said.

It is unclear whether Roley was eventually killed by a cop's bullet or took his own life, Kootenai County Sheriff Robert Norris told reporters at a press conference.

[...]

The chaos began around 2 p.m. on Canfield Mountain, just north of Coeur d'Alene, when smoke started pouring from the woods and first responders rushed to the scene — only to be met by a hail of gunfire coming from the trees.

Firefighters quickly realized they'd been lured into a psychotic trap and desperately called for backup, according to terrifying 911 calls they made from the scene.

"I'm pinned down," a firefighter said in the frantic call. "It's clear to me that this fire was set intentionally to draw us in.

"We need law enforcement up here immediately," he said. "We have another Coeur d'Alene firefighter down. ... We've got two unresponsive battalion chiefs down, multiple gunshot wounds, two Coeur d'Alene are down."

The fire was left to burn as reinforcements battled to root out the unseen gunman before the gunfire eventually stopped and Roley's body was tracked down in the trees using cellphone information.

Roley previously lived in Arizona but was in Idaho working in the tree-service business, his grandfather told CNN.

He had a tumultuous childhood marked by a messy divorce between his parents — which culminated with his father allegedly making threats that were eerily similar to the crime Roley carried out on Sunday, according to court papers from the bitter 2015 split.

"He threatened to sit outside my house with a sniper rifle or burn my house down," Roley's mother wrote in a filing of her son's father, according to CNN.

She also said Roley's father pushed her to the ground and "punched several holes in the walls."

The mother was granted a protective order barring the father from seeing her or her son — then 10 years old. But the father claimed, "I am not a danger to my son or anyone else" and said the accusations were a lie.

In another eerie twist, Roley had aspirations to become a firefighter, his granddad told the outlet.

"He wanted to be a fireman — he was doing tree work, and he wanted to be a fireman in the forest," his grandfather, Dale Roley, said. "As far as I know, he was actually pursuing it."

The grandfather expressed bafflement at the situation, saying Roley wasn't a "loner," and that he had a supportive family and group of friends.

"We had no reason to suspect that he would be involved in something like this," the grandfather said.

Neither of the two firefighters killed have been identified yet, while a third firefighter was left "fighting for his life" after he was struck by a bullet. He is now in stable condition.

A motivation behind the twisted attack remains unclear, but internet sleuths have identified a chilling possible connection to a decades-old incident involving the Coeur d'Alene Fire Department and neo-Nazis.

Sunday's incident happened 24 years to the day after a 2001 burning of an Aryan Nations compound in Hayden Lake — just 7 miles north of Coeur d'Alene — during a fire training operation.

The cabin and its compound had been sold to the department after the Aryan Nations' national leader, Richard Butler, filed for bankruptcy over a settlement involving the shooting of a Native American woman and her son — and the site was torched by the Coeur d'Alene Fire Department during a training exercise.

"I do not think it is a coincidence that on this date in 2001, firefighters in Coeur d'Alene burned down the Aryan Nation founder's compound in a training exercise after he lost the property in a federal bankruptcy sale. The tragic current events are unfolding nearby," one suspicious sleuth wrote in a post on X on Sunday.

So far no connection has been made between Roley and white supremacy movements.

Dozens of law enforcement officers are present near Cherry Hill Dog Park in Coeur d'Alene.
A man armed with a rifle started a wildfire Sunday and then began shooting at first responders in a northern Idaho mountain community, killing two firefighters and wounding a third during a barrage of gunfire over several hours, authorities said.

A shelter-in-place order was lifted Sunday night after a tactical response team used cell phone data to "hone in" on a wooded area where they found the suspect's body with a firearm nearby as flames rapidly approached, Kootenai County Sheriff Bob Norris said.

Officials did not release his name, nor did they say what kind of gun was found.

"We do believe that the suspect started the fire, and we do believe that it was an ambush and it was intentional," Norris said at a Sunday night news conference. "These firefighters did not have a chance."

Comment: The MSM is reporting that unnamed "police officials" and "sources" have released the suspect's identity, but that no motive has been revealed at this time:
A law enforcement official confirmed to USA TODAY that the suspect's name is Wess Roley.

Roley is accused of lighting a fire in the early afternoon on June 29 and then shooting two first responders who arrived to put it out. A third firefighter was wounded in the shooting, Kootenai County Sheriff Bob Norris said at a news conference. [...]

Records show Wess Roley, 20, most recently lived in Phoenix, Arizona, but appears to have family in Idaho about an hour's drive from the location of the June 29 shooting.

The Kootenai County Sheriff's Office has not released a possible motive in the shooting.
The Kootenai County Sheriff's Office reports that more information will be made available to the public during a press conference scheduled for the afternoon of June 30th:
Sherriff Bob Norris will be holding a press briefing at 2:00pm on June 30th at the Kootenai County Sheriff's Office North Campus - 2451 W. Dakota Ave, Hayden, ID 83835. Due to construction, please enter from Atlas Rd.

The purpose of the briefing is to deliver an update on the investigation currently underway following the Canfield Mountain incident.

Around 25 million people were using the drug worldwide in 2023, up from 17 million in 2013, a new report says.

Global cocaine production surged to a new record in 2023, accompanied by soaring seizures, growing user numbers, and rising deaths, the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) has said.

On Thursday, the UNODC released its annual report, warning that a "new era of global instability" is empowering organized crime and driving drug use to unprecedented levels.

The report found that cocaine has become the fastest-growing illicit drug market worldwide. Illegal production skyrocketed to an estimated 3,708 tons in 2023 - up nearly 34% from 2022 - driven largely by expanded coca cultivation and higher yields in Colombia.

Use of the drug climbed to an estimated 25 million people in 2023, up from 17 million in 2013. The highest consumption continues to be in North America, Western and Central Europe, and South America, with wastewater data showing sharp rises in European cities.

Sacrilege and statecraft: How Christian Zionism distorts scripture to serve empire

christian zionism graphic
Why America's 'bless Israel' obsession risks the church, the world — and the truth

During a recent interview with Tucker Carlson, U.S. Senator Ted Cruz displayed not only alarming geopolitical ignorance but also a brazen willingness to distort scripture in defense of his unwavering support for Israel. The verse he quoted — Genesis 12:3 — was shamelessly truncated, a common tactic used to lend divine legitimacy to Zionist exceptionalism in End Times prophecy. This verse has become the theological bedrock of a militant worldview known as Christian Zionism.

Even Jewish critics of Israeli state policy express dismay at the historical illiteracy and theological crudeness fueling this metastasizing ideology within American evangelical circles. I recall debating this phenomenon over a decade ago on LinkedIn with Jewish and Israeli acquaintances. I had dubbed it a "trailer-trash cult" — a fusion of biblical illiteracy, apocalyptic fervor and geopolitical delusion. Some of my Israeli counterparts, in a strange display of casual prejudice, alternately referred to Cruz and current Secretary of State Marco Rubio simply as "the Mexican."

English language trucking rule takes effect, federal investigation of sanctuary state migrant CDL pipeline begins

truck crashes migrants no english
Semi-truck crashes involving unqualified migrant drivers have been recorded in Texas, Illinois, California and other states
Under the Biden-Harris regime, and with backing from rogue sanctuary states, thousands — if not tens of thousands — of non-English-speaking migrants have been granted non-domiciled Commercial Driver's Licenses (CDLs), a decision now under intense scrutiny following a series of deadly crashes involving 80,000-pound big rigs, including a horrific incident in Austin, Texas, that left five Americans dead.

On Friday, the US Department of Transportation (DoT) released a statement about DoT Sec. Duffy is preparing to launch a nationwide audit into states issuing non-domiciled CDLs, more specifically examining the potential for unqualified individuals obtaining these licenses to operate big rigs on America's highways.

"This action responds directly to a key directive from President Donald J. Trump's Executive Order on Enforcing Commonsense Rules of the Road for America's Truck Drivers and is part of Secretary Duffy's commitment to safety," a statement read from DoT.

Reality bites: Newsom closes California's $12B deficit by cutting back immigrant's health care access

California Gov. Gavin Newsom signed on Friday a budget that pares back a number of progressive priorities, including a landmark health care expansion for low-income adult illegal immigrants, to close a $12 billion deficit.

It's the third year in a row the nation's most populous state has been forced to slash funding or stop some of the programs championed by Democratic leaders.

Lawmakers passed the budget earlier in the day following an agreement of a $321 billion spending plan between Newsom and Democratic leaders.

But the whole budget will be void if lawmakers don't send him legislation to make it easier to build housing by Monday.

Haiti will join Venezuela in having TPS status removed, opening the door for increased deportations

The Trump administration's Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is ending temporary protection status (TPS) for roughly 520,000 Haitians currently residing in the US.

The TPS designations for the country will expire on Aug. 3, 2025, and the termination will be effective on Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2025.

"This decision restores integrity in our immigration system and ensures that Temporary Protective Status is actually temporary," said a DHS spokesperson.

Comment: Springfield, Ohio residents will be ecstatic.

Free speech travesty: German pensioner who called Economic Minister an 'idiot' has been convicted

Stefan Niehoff
Pensioner Stefan Niehoff has now been convicted for retweets in what many are calling a travesty for free speech.
The left routinely uses Nazi symbols to attack the right, but as soon as the right uses these symbols to attack the left, they end up in court
The case of German pensioner Stefan Niehoff became a major international story after police raided his home for calling Robert Habeck an "idiot" while Habeck was serving as Germany's economy minister at the time. Now that Niehoff has been convicted — for separate offenses — it has become clear how far the German media has gone to create the perception that Niehoff is a Nazi to smear his name, when the exact opposite was true all along.

Elon Musk tweeted about the case. The Economist included the incident in a long list of items showing Germany was walking all over free speech, and Niehoff was publicly outspoken over what happened to him.

Niehoff suffered a house raid early in the morning at his home in Burgpreppach, while his disabled daughter was home, all because Habeck filed a complaint against him for Niehoff calling him an "idiot" in an internet post.

A young left-wing candidate, Zohran Mamdani, is poised to become the Democratic nominee for New York mayor after delivering a stunning political upset.

The 33-year-old democratic socialist declared victory in the party's primary on Tuesday, defeating his main rival and political veteran Andrew Cuomo who previously served as state governor.

"Tonight we made history," Mamdani said in his victory speech. If elected, he would be the first Muslim and Indian American to lead the nation's largest city.

Cuomo, 67, was attempting to pull off a comeback after resigning from office in 2021 over a sexual harassment scandal. He congratulated his opponent for a "really smart and great campaign".
