Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has officially announced that a new system designed to intercept medium-range missiles has become operational and Tel Aviv's enemies have henceforth "put themselves in existential danger" if they try to attack Israel.

"I will reiterate, that whoever wants to strike us will be beaten, and those who threaten our existence are putting their own lives at risk," Netanyahu said at the official ceremony on Sunday inaugurating the joint US-Israeli missile interceptor at the IDF's Hatzor base. The event was attended by US defense officials, the Times of Israel reported.

"Together we can meet challenges a lot better than any of us can alone. In this case, the white and blue is better together with the red, white and blue," Netanyahu said, addressing among others director of the US Missile Defense Agency Vice Admiral James Syring.

"We have pioneering technology here, as Israel continues to be a world leader in this field. The ingenuity of our people and the fighting spirit of our soldiers multiply our strength against our enemies and enable us not only to defend the home front but to achieve victory in battle," the prime minister said, adding, that he attaches "very great importance" to defending the home front, Ynetnews reported.

Comment: That's just great. What it also allows is for Israel to be more aggressive. It can now attack without suffering the consequences of its actions. Thanks, US, for elevating Israel to a whole new level of brazen conquest.

Erdogan on EU rant: Turkey's membership stall due to Pope-dictated 'Christian crusader alliance'

Erdogan
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has suggested while addressing his supporters at a rally in Ankara on Sunday, that his country would never get into the EU because it was not Christian. Turkey has been trying to get into the EU since submitting its application for membership in 1987, but negotiations have repeatedly stalled due to human rights concerns, disagreements over Cyprus and other matters.

At the rally, Erdogan claimed the EU representatives meeting with the Pope in March was proof that the union was a fundamentally Christian organization. "All the leaders of the EU countries went to the Vatican and listened to the pope submissively. Do you now understand why they have not been taking Turkey into the EU for 54 years?" Erdogan told the crowd on Sunday, referring to the 1963 Ankara Agreement between Turkey and Europe.

"The situation is quite loud and clear, it is a Crusader Alliance. April 16 will also be the day to evaluate this," Erdogan said, as quoted by the Hurriyet.

Comment: With this kind of critical thinking, Turkey will likely wait another 50 years.

Trump vows he will 'solve North Korea' with or without China

rockets launching

The US is ready and "totally" able to tackle the North Korean threat with or without the help of China, the US President told the Financial Times, indicating that Washington will use the "trade" lever to push Beijing into exerting greater pressure on Pyongyang.

Ahead of the US-China summit in Florida next week, where the US President is scheduled to discuss a number of issues with the Chinese leader Xi Jinping, Donald Trump revealed that unless Beijing influences the North Koreans to curb their nuclear research Washington will do it alone.China has great influence over North Korea. And China will either decide to help us with North Korea, or they won't. And if they do that will be very good for China, and if they don't it won't be good for anyone," Trump told the Financial Times.

Beijing has long been frustrated by Washington's suggestions that China is the one country that must do more to tackle the issue of North Korea's nuclear and missile programs. Beijing has also been irritated over the US decision to use the issue as a pretext for assembling the advanced THAAD missile defense system in South Korea.

China has repeatedly warned the US not to exacerbate tensions on its borders by beefing up its military capabilities in the vicinity of the South and East China Seas. At the same time, Beijing continues to be suspicious of Washington's policy toward Taiwan, which China considers an inherent part of the mainland.

When asked by the Financial Times if he will consider offering Beijing a "grand bargain" like withdrawing some of US forces from the region in exchange for pacifying Pyongyang, Trump dodged the question, saying instead, "Well if China is not going to solve North Korea, we will. That is all I am telling you." Trump stated that even acting unilaterally, the US will "totally" succeed against the North, without elaborating further.

Comment: All the ills of the world can't be solved with trade terms...or can they? Does it all come down to mettle and money?

Posh pig diddler David Cameron tapped as potential NATO chief

David Cameron pig
Responsible neocons and Raytheon salesmen are already anxious about who will lead the international cartel of war criminals after Jens Stoltenberg steps down in 2018 or whenever.

But like the final bars of a complex Bach fugue, sometimes the universe creates harmonic resolutions to the world's most pressing issues.

According to UK Defense Secretary Michael Fallon, famous pork porker and co-destroyer of Libya David Cameron would "make a good" NATO chief.

It's a perfect fit. Like peas and carrots, or Hillary Clinton and Saudi blood money. It's not a coincidence — it's fate. Destiny.

Comment: Yes, David Cameron would be a 'good' NATO chief... in a world where Tony Blair became a Middle East Peace Envoy, where Obama was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, and Saudi Arabia heads the UN Human Rights Council.

The major parties in Iraqi Kurdistan have agreed on a roadmap for a much-anticipated referendum on independence. Although a timeline for the landmark vote is yet to be set, the region's leaders say it is Kurds' "natural right" to secede from Baghdad.

The Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) and Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) met on Sunday with Masoud Barzani, the long-time president of the Kurdish autonomous region, to discuss the practicalities of the independence referendum.

In a joint statement quoted by Rudaw news outlet, Kurdish leaders declared that the vote was "a natural right of the nation of Kurdistan to decide on its political and administrative path in a referendum and an entity of an independent state."

A joint committee will now be set up to discuss the issue with the other parties of Iraqi Kurdistan as well as "to set the timing and mechanism to hold a referendum," the statement said.

A spokesperson for the KDP, Mahmud Mohamad, told Rudaw that it had already been agreed that the referendum would be held in 2017. Kurdish parties will start talks with Baghdad and neighboring countries on the issue, he added.

Real Syrian Civil Defense are saving Syrians, not the fake White Helmets who are saving Al Qaeda

Real Syria Self defence
"When the [REAL] Syria Civil Defence are working, attending a rescue, they must divorce from their emotions in order to be 100% effective. When we see the White Helmets 'working' they are acting, performing for the camera..it is not real" ~ Colonel of the Damascus Head Quarters of the REAL Syria Civil Defence.
While the multi-million-NATO-Gulf-state-funded White Helmets were scooping the Oscar for the Netflix documentary depicting their "heroic" rescues in "war-torn" Syria, the REAL Syria Civil Defence was continuing with its daily routine of saving Syrian people in Syria, under attack by the same, US, NATO & Gulf state, funded, armed and equipped extremist factions rebranded multiple times to obfuscate their terrorist roots and ideology.
"The RAND Corporation's recent piece titled, "Al Qaeda in Syria Can Change Its Name, but Not Its Stripes," all but admits what was already suspected about designated terrorist groups operating in Syria - that they are undergoing a transition in an attempt by their state sponsors to bolster their legitimacy and spare them from liquidation amid the shifting tides on the battlefield." ~ Tony Cartalucci
21st Century Wire has been exposing the, primarily, UK Foreign Office funded, White Helmets, since their creation in 2013. This faux first responder organisation, established in Turkey and trained by an ex British military mercenary, a "private security" expert, James Le Mesurier, has been taking public perception by storm in the west and successfully "disappearing" the more-than 4000 fully trained paramedics and firefighters who make up the REAL Syria Civil Defence.

In western perception, that has been entirely controlled by corporate media and NATO aligned NGO spin, the White Helmets are the ONLY first responders, saving Syrians from the rubble of bombed buildings. Not true. The reality is, the REAL Syria Civil Defence worked in areas controlled by both Syrian Government and NATO/Gulf state militants until very recently. In 2016, a decision was taken to protect the REAL Syria Civil Defence from terrorist attacks and their operations were limited to the Syrian Government held zones. This was revealed to me by the Colonel of the REAL Syria Civil Defence in Damascus on December 20th 2016.

However, even if the REAL Syria Civil Defence do only operate in Syrian government held areas of Syria, effectively that means they are servicing over 80% of the Syrian population including a huge number of IDPs (internally displaced people), over six million, who have fled the terrorist occupied areas for cities and zones under the protection of the Syrian state.

Maxine Waters: Brave Black Woman Not Intimidated by Kremlin Klansmen

Maxine Waters
"I'm a strong black woman. And I cannot be intimidated, undermined — I'm not going to be put down. I'm not going to go anywhere," boasts California Congresswoman Maxine Waters, who apparently is being intimidated by people who know that Crimea is not in Asia.

But why is Maxine bringing race into the equation?

Californian politicians should be judged by the content of their television appearances, and not the color of their skin.

HRW charges: Israel blocks observers from entering Gaza to prevent documenting abuses

Israel is blocking access to and from the Gaza Strip for human rights workers in order to prevent the documentation of abuses, calling into question government claims of reliance on human rights organizations for information in criminal investigations into serious crimes committed by the Israeli Defense Force, a Human Rights Watch report has said.

The Human Rights Watch (HRW) 47-page report, Unwilling or Unable: Israeli Restrictions on Travel to and from Gaza for Human Rights Workers, documents the country's systematic ban on human rights workers from traveling to and from Gaza, even when security services make no claims against them as individuals. As a result, HRW said the International Criminal Court's (ICC) prosecutor's office should take note of the restrictions in the context of its ongoing preliminary examination of the Palestine situation.

"If Israel wants the prosecutor to take seriously its argument that its criminal investigations are adequate, a good first step would be to allow human rights researchers to bring relevant information to light. Impeding the work of human rights groups raises questions not just about the willingness of Israel's military authorities to conduct genuine investigations, but also their ability to do so," said Sari Bashi, Israel and Palestine Advocacy Director at HRW.

More from Sputnik:
The Unwilling or Unable: Israeli Restrictions on Travel to and from Gaza for Human Rights Workers report by Human Rights Watch, released on Sunday, outlines how travel restrictions, even in cases where security services have no claims against individual workers, prevent cooperation between human rights workers and limit access. HRW notes that, since 2008, the watchdog has only on one occasion received permission for foreign workers to access Gaza through Israel. It adds that, during the 2014 war, external weapons experts were prevented from entering Gaza by Israel and Egypt, leaving local experts responsible for analyzing forensic evidence from the conflict.

The Israeli authorities should grant access to and from Gaza for all Palestinians, the watchdog urges, and until such a time, human rights workers should be given travel permits by Egypt and Israel to be able to conduct their work. Gaza's Hamas authorities should also improve conditions in the area, to protect human rights workers and cooperate in investigations.

Over the decades, Palestinians have sought diplomatic recognition for their independent state on the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, which includes the partially Israeli-controlled East Jerusalem. The Israeli government, though, refuses to recognize Palestine as an independent political and diplomatic entity.

The 'Russia hacked the election' fiasco: No evidence required

Trump
© Newsweek
"So far, no single piece of evidence has been made public proving that the Trump campaign joined with Russia to steal the US presidency - nothing....Stop to let that thought reverberate for a moment."

— Paul Wood, BBC News, Washington, March 30, 2017
Here's what bugs me about the Russia hacking story: Why would the media, whose credibility is already at its lowest point ever, go after Trump when they had no facts to back them up?

Why?

Do the media bosses really think that if they set their hair on fire and run around yelling, "The Russians did it, the Russians did it", the American people will sheepishly nod in agreement?

And what do they think the Russians actually did?

Jared Kushner flies to Iraq with Joint Chiefs for ISIS strategy briefing

Jared Kushner and Donald Trump
President Trump's senior adviser and son-in-law Jared Kushner reportedly arrived in Baghdad this morning, in a surprise visit with Chairman of the Joint Chiefs General Joseph Dunford, to meet U.S. and Iraqi officials and to receive military briefings on the fight against the Islamic State. Kushner is the first member of Trump's inner circle to visit the country, currently engaged in a fight to drive the militant group from Mosul and other areas.

The visit comes at a critical time, as the Department of Defense crafts the new administration's strategy to combat the Islamic State in Iraq, Syria and beyond.
