Putin: Palestine and Israel peaceful coexistence essential for regional security

President Vladimir Putin has expressed Russia's full support in negotiating a two-state solution to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict after meeting his Palestinian counterpart Mahmoud Abbas in Sochi. "I would like to stress that peaceful coexistence of two countries, Palestine and Israel, is an essential condition for ensuring genuine security and stability in this region," Putin said after the meeting with Abbas.

The two-state solution envisages an independent State of Palestine alongside the State of Israel. As the boundary between the two states has yet to be determined, the Palestinians insist on drawing the demarcation lines along the 1967 borders, a precondition rejected by Israel.

"Russia is distinguished by its firm stance, a position advocating the creation of an independent Palestinian state within the 1967 borders, with its capital in East Jerusalem," Abbas said, although the Russian President avoided referencing any borders in his remarks.

The Palestinian-Israeli peace talks have stalled since the efforts of the US failed three years ago. The two sides broke contacts after Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas forged an unexpected pact with Hamas on the governance of the Gaza Strip. Israel sees Hamas as a terrorist organization which aims for the ultimate destruction of the Israeli state.

Comment: There is always such optimism on the part of mediators with each attempt to adjust this situation. That it has never been resolved speaks volumes as to the mindsets involved and the agendas being played out on the world stage.

From the Times of Israel:
Abbas, according to a report in the official PA news site Wafa, also reiterated that he is still willing to participate in a three-way summit with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Moscow. "We are ready to accept this invitation at anytime," Abbas said. "We had planned to meet in Moscow, but he didn't show up," Abbas said earlier this month, referring to Netanyahu in the context of Russian efforts to set up such a meeting last year.

Netanyahu and Abbas have repeatedly declared their willingness for face-to-face talks, and blamed each other for dodging the proposed September 2016 meet-up in Moscow.

On Tuesday, in a press conference with German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Abbas said he was willing to meet with Netanyahu under the auspices of US President Donald Trump, who he met earlier in the month.

Trump is slated to visit Israel and Bethlehem later in May, and is expected to separately meet Netanyahu and Abbas and use the visit to advance his goal of mediating negotiations between Israelis and Palestinians. It is speculated that he may also seek to bring Netanyahu and Abbas together in the course of his May 22-23 visit, but no such plans have been confirmed.

Labour party will block sale of weapons to repressive regimes if it wins election

Barry Gardiner

Labour has signaled it is looking at new measures to ensure British-built weapons and military technology are not bought by repressive regimes around the world. It comes as the party plans its general election manifesto and following uproar at the Government's backing for billions of pounds worth of arms sales to Saudi Arabia.

Jeremy Corbyn's push for a more ethical exports policy comes just days after Sir Michael Fallon, the Defence Secretary, praised a UK firm that sold missiles to Colonel Gaddafi as a "role model" for post-Brexit trade. Barry Gardiner, the shadow International Trade Secretary, hinted at the new arms measures as he discussed how the party is preparing a broader strategy aimed at exploiting trade opportunities abroad to boost industries at home.

In an exclusive interview with The Independent he said a prime example of the approach would be a push for the abolition of tariffs on environmental technology, like wind turbines and solar panels in future trade deals, to pave the way for thousands of UK jobs. Mr Gardiner was speaking as Labour prepares its manifesto for the general election.

The Prime Minister has talked a lot about boosting trade after Brexit, but campaigners have raised concerns that her desire to secure any new trade has led to a drop in ethical standards.

Third Reich redux? Banking puppet Emmanuel Macron takes the stage

macron france
During the first round of the French presidential election I showed readers and social media fans how Facebook tested micro-censoring technology on a political analyst and influencer's account. Strangely, nobody cared. Maybe I am just that bad a storyteller? A day before Marine Le Pen and Rothschild puppet Emmanuel Macron vied for the French presidency, we analyzed many of the so-called #MacronLeaks papers and presented circumstantial evidence he's a crook and worse. Nobody cared, and the unwitting French have laws in place banning them from knowing of last minute disasters. Here's my assessment to show how France and Europe are screwed.

Why did the British decide to pull up stakes and leave the EU? Maybe the Brits learned from living their own RMS Titanic disasters that going down with the ship is in fact noble, but it comes at the price of being dead too. And France is door knob dead for sure now. Marine Le Pen was the last chance for the French to ever lead anything again, and the voters in Paris throwing 90% to Macron ended any chance France will ever be great again. The globalists won a great victory last weekend, but what's more the evil men standing behind were given carte blanche to ruin all of Europe. If the French people are dumb enough, apathetic enough to put yet another EU mafia boss in the presidency of France, the handlers of such political puppets know where they stand - immune from the revolution that would end their tyrannical reign on humanity.

RT publishes open letter to #FakeNewsReuters on false reporting accusations

RT wishes to make a formal complaint in relation to the Reuters article headlined "U.S. increasingly convinced that Russia hacked French election: sources."

Despite the severity of the accusations levied against RT in the report, via statements made by anonymous and thus unaccountable "U.S. officials," namely, that RT has spread "fake news" in its coverage of the French election, Reuters failed to reach RT for comment.

Furthermore, the allegation of spreading fake news - despite its gravity - is presented not only without a response from RT, but also without evidence. Indeed, there is not a single example that would support this claim. This is somewhat remarkable, given how Reuters itself reported in April that Emmanuel Macron's campaign team had failed to provide even a single example of the fake news that RT has allegedly put out, despite multiple instances of said team accusing RT of doing just that.

'Drug dealers are going to prison': AG Sessions' new tough on crime policy

Attorney General Jeff Sessions is calling on federal prosecutors to charge criminal suspects with the most serious, provable, offenses under a new directive.

"By definition, the most serious offenses are those that carry the most substantial guidelines sentence, including mandatory minimum sentences," the AG said.

Published Friday, the memo sets out the new 'Charging and Sentencing Policy' for the Department of Justice. Sessions states that the core principle of the new policy is that "prosecutors should charge and pursue the most serious, readily provable offense."

Russia's moves on 'The Grand Chessboard': The Eurasian Economic Union flexes its muscles

Eurasian Economic Union
In recent years, the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), a multinational partnership uniting Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia, has become a significant force on the international arena. However, in order to stabilize development in all directions, and to make the Union itself as strong and as long-term as possible, it needs to attract more members. The view is that economic blocs like the ЕАEU only become truly strong and prosperous if their influence covers no less than 300 million people. However, the cumulative population of the five current members of the EAEU is still about 183 million. Therefore, the association is currently making efforts to involve more countries into the cooperation. States that are not ready to become full members of the Union may get an observer status, or become partners in free trade zones (FTZ).

Currently, the Republic of Tajikistan (RT) is the most likely candidate to join the EAEU in the near future. This country is quite important both for the EAEU and for Russia. As is well-known, in the east, Tajikistan borders with China, and Chinese businesses are active there. In order to divide spheres of influence harmoniously between Russia and the PRC, and not to allow Tajikistan to slip entirely into the hands of China, Russian companies should also become more active and connect with Tajikistan through close economic ties.

Comment: As the United States and the West continues the push toward isolating Russia via moves on 'The Grand Chessboard', Putin and Russia has held steadfast on building The Eurasian Economic Union and other moves involving integrating with China toward mutual benefit. On the one hand, you have the West that destroys, lies, bribes, foments and spreads terrorism and extremism in many forms and leaches off of and pillages countries in order to meet strategic and economic gains. On the other hand you have Russia and to some extent China who have a vision of spreading prosperity via mutual cooperation and trade based on trust and fairness. From Syria, Ukraine to North Korea a person can see the clash of the two diametrically opposed visions of the future of the world in real time. It is a struggle that looks to define the fate of the world and what path humanity ultimately walks down.

US concedes Raqqa ... and the Syrian east?

Syria battle map
There are strong rumors that the U.S. intends to launch an invasion of east-Syria from Jordan with the aim of occupying the whole eastern area. The Syrian army and its allies launched a move towards the east (red) to prevent such an outcome.

A new Wall Street Journal piece, primarily about the ISIS held city of Raqqa on the Euphrates, casts doubt on long term U.S. plans for such an occupation. Its core quote:
"We won't be in Raqqa in 2020, but the regime will be there."
There were already doubts that a big U.S. move in east-Syria was really going to happen. Jordan opposes any such move. While the U.S. and Jordan have trained, equipped and paid Syrian "rebels" to hold a zone of control in south-west Syria, little preparations have been seen for a large move in the south-east. The U.S. has so far vetted and trained at most 2,000 local Arab fighters in the area. Fewer are ready to go. Even with U.S. special forces embedded with them these forces are way too small to take an ISIS defended city or to capture or to hold a significant area. At least ten to twenty thousand troops would be needed (likely more) for such an endeavor. The current force is probably only tasked with taking a few border stations to close down the border between Syria and Iraq. (A move that Syrian and Iraqi forces will try to prevent.)

Reuters: "Officials" say Trump fired Comey because of refusal to preview Senate testimony

COMEY
The anger behind Donald Trump's firing of FBI Director James Comey on Tuesday had been building for months, but a turning point came when Comey refused to preview for top Trump aides his planned testimony to a Senate panel, White House officials said.

Trump, Attorney General Jeff Sessions and deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein had wanted a heads-up from Comey about what he would say at a May 3 hearing about his handling of an investigation into former Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server.

When Comey refused, Trump and his aides considered that an act of insubordination and it was one of the catalysts to Trump's decision this week to fire the FBI director, the officials said.

"It gave the impression that he was no longer capable of carrying out his duties," one official said. Previews of congressional testimony to superiors are generally considered courteous.

Comment: Whatever the immediate cause, Trump's own account is probably accurate: he'd been planning to fire him for a while.
U.S. President Donald Trump said he had planned to dismiss FBI Director James Comey even before receiving recommendations from top Justice Department officials.

"I was going to fire Comey. My decision," Trump told NBC News on May 11. "I was going to fire him regardless of recommendation."

The comments apparently contradict the administration's earlier explanation for Comey's firing.
...
Trump also said that he spoke with Comey once during dinner and twice in phone calls, during which time he says Comey told him "you are not under investigation."

Trump said he initiated one phone call, and Comey initiated the other.

In his termination letter, Trump thanked Comey for informing him "three times" that he is not under investigation.

Trump tweets: "Russia must be laughing", Comey better watch out, press briefings can't always be accurate

trump
© Joshua Roberts / Reuters
Yes, Russia and the whole world is laughing at the United States.

President Trump took to Twitter to begin debunking the liberal left James Comey talking points.

Finding it easy to call out the left's hypocrisy in their recent Comey outrage (when just a few months ago the entire snowflake establishment was shouting for the FBI director's dismissal), Trump dug out an old Rosie O'Donnell tweet, where the unhinged, former talk show host specifically said "FIRE COMEY" in December 2016...

Trump cleverly responded to the old Rosie tweet with..."We finally agree on something Rosie."

Comment: He also had this not so subtle message for Comey:

And a response to the non-stop anti-Russian hysteria:

The funniest by far, however, is his response to complaints about the lack of accuracy from his press briefing surrogates:
