There is something wrong with protesters arriving with billboards and placards which they're carrying only to use the stick as a battering ram, says journalist John Bosnitch.

Across the US thousands of left-wing activists showed up to confront a rally against illegal immigration. Demonstrations took place in California, in the city of Boston, and many other places.

Tensions between America's left and right have been increasing following the violence in Charlottesville, where a neo-Nazi rammed his car into a crowd of protesters.

One of the sides has upped the ante by launching a petition on the White House website, calling for Antifa to be declared a "terrorist" organization. About 162,000 people have already signed it, and now the administration has to issue a response.

The battle between the established unipolar "international order" dominated by Wall Street, Washington, and London and an emerging multipolar order appears fixated on Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and across the entirety of Asia. However, it extends to virtually every corner of the globe, from competition in the Arctic to politically-motivated controversies in Earth orbit.

The South American nation of Venezuela also seems far-removed from this ongoing competition engulfing the world's hot spots in the Middle East, Central and Asia, but the fate of this besieged nation is directly linked to the that of the rest of the world, either contributing to an emerging multipolar world order, or providing sanctuary and legitimacy to the established unipolar order currently dominated by Wall Street, Washington, and London.

The nation has been the target of US-backed subversion for decades. The latest iteration of American interference began with the rise of Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez and a failed US-backed coup in 2002 organized to oust him and place a US-controlled client regime in power.

Tehran needs only five days to increase uranium enrichment to a level sufficient to make a nuclear weapon, Iran's atomic chief has warned. The warning comes as US President Donald Trump seeks to renegotiate the 2015 nuclear deal.

"If there is a plan for a reaction and a challenge, we will definitely surprise them," the head of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization, Ali Akbar Salehi, said Tuesday, as quoted by AP. "If we make the determination, we are able to resume 20 percent enrichment in at most five days," he said on national television.

Salehi underlined that Iran is not keen on such a scenario, saying that "definitely, we are not interested in such a thing happening. We have not achieved the deal easily to let it go easily. We are committed to the deal and we are loyal to it."

London's Metropolitan Police has massively increased spending on weapons as terrorists vow to launch attacks on Britain's streets.

Spending on the Met arsenal rose six-fold last year from about £1.6 million to £9.4 million (US$2 million to US$12 million) as calls from Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) to attack grow louder.

The news comes as it emerged the Westminster Bridge attacker, Khalid Masood, was stopped by a bullet to the chest fired by a private security detail - not by a police officer.

Masood, 52, killed five people and injured 49 when he drove a car along the sidewalk outside the Houses of Parliament.

The terrorist gained access to the palace grounds, where he stabbed PC Keith Palmer to death.

Although armed Met police guard the parliamentary estate, Masood was shot dead by a security officer assigned to Defence Secretary Michael Fallon.

Syrian-Russian offensive carves out second ISIS cauldron in central Syria

The length of the Syrian-ISIS front line is about to be radically shortened and many units freed up for a final push into Deir ez-Zor.

As is often the case with Syria there are contradictory reports. According to some the cauldron is not yet fully formed but the final assault to close the last remaining 3-4 kilometers is already underway.

Syria's elite Tiger Forces, backed by Russian helicopters have made contact with the Russian-trained 5th Corps of the Syrian army just north of Suknah.

This means a second ISIS cauldron has now been created in central Syria inside of a week.

This second pocket stretches over an area which is sparsely populated, but is very rugged with many steep hills.

When Trump was elected I wrote that it was unlikely that he would be successful in accomplishing the three objectives for which he was elected - peace with Russia, the return home of offshored US jobs, and effective limits on non-white immigration - because these objectives conflicted with the interests of those more powerful than the president.

President Trump will not be President much longer. Yes, he's survived the Russian nonsense which is why it has faded. He is now being cast as an overt racist.

The longer the President is in office, there is more risk of exposure of the Deep State's antics for the great unwashed to see. The number of Americans waking up is fast approaching critical mass. However, it doesn't mean they will act. However, it has to be of concern to the Deep State. The Deep State, which had planned to install a totalitarian state under Hillary Clinton, is on the ropes which is why they are throwing everything possible at Trump and the American people. America is experiencing the Deep State kill shot.

Make no mistake about it, we are already in a civil war. The integrity of the office of the President is under attack. The American culture and history are under attack as are traditional American values. Whites are under attack and soon Christians will be put in the cross-hairs of the Deep State.

While all experts agree that the events in Venezuela are following the same model as those in Syria, some writers have contested the article by Thierry Meyssan which highlights their differences from the interpretation in the anti-imperialist camp. Here, our author responds. This is not a quarrel between specialists, but an important debate about the historic change we are experiencing since 11 September 2001, and which is influencing all our lives.

In the first part of this article, I pointed out the fact that currently, President Bachar el-Assad is the only personality who has adapted to the new "grand US strategy" - all the others continue to think as if the present conflicts were simply a continuation of those we have been experiencing since the end of the Second World War. They persist in interpreting these events as tentatives by the United States to hog natural resources for themselves by organising the overthrow of the pertinent governments.

First shipment of Pennsylvanian coal sets sail for Ukraine

The first cargo of Pennsylvanian coal is on its way to Ukraine under a deal sealed between US Xcoal Energy & Resources and Ukrainian state-run Centrenergo earlier this year, the Ukrainian Embassy said on its Facebook page.

According to the contract, Ukraine will get 700,000 tons of coal from the US State of Pennsylvania this year.

"US coal will be a secure and reliable energy source for Centrenergo and its electricity customers. This shipment will boost both of our country's economies by supporting jobs in the coal and transportation industries," said US Energy Secretary Rick Perry in a statement.

Ukraine holds the third largest anthracite coal reserves in the world, according to the Ukrainian coal miner and trader Sadovaya Group.

A military source said that Lebanese military intelligence units have detained a Daesh senior member.

Lebanese military intelligence units have detained an Islamic State (Daesh) senior member responsible for an assault on the country's troops in 2014 on the Syrian border, a military source told Sputnik Monday.

"Military intelligence has detained Basel Abdel Kader in Wadi al-Araneb, a Syrian national, in Aarsal ... [he was] in charge of security in Daesh," the source said, adding that the terrorist was responsible for the attack on a military base in Aarsal's vicinity in 2014 when the Daesh militants kidnapped several Lebanese servicemen whose fate is still unknown.
