Incumbent Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has won the majority of votes, the head of the electoral board said. This would mark the second consecutive term for Erdogan, but the first one under "a new system."

With over 97.2 percent of votes counted, the head of Turkey's High Electoral Board (YSK) says Erdogan has secured more than 50 percent of the votes needed for the victory.

In the parliamentary election, his AK Party is also in first place with over 45 percent. The pro-Kurdish People's Democratic Party (HDP) will also enter the parliament after passing the 10 percent threshold, according the board's head, Sadi Guven. Turnout was at 87 percent for both polls, preliminary data shows.

Senator Mark Warner (D-Virginia) has advertised forthcoming revelations within the Trump-Russia probe led by Special Counsel Robert Mueller, which has yet to produce any proof of collusion while costing taxpayers $17 million.

Speaking at the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) retreat in Martha's Vineyard on Friday, Warner, an ardent proponent of the Russiagate narrative, implied that the lingering Mueller probe will finally bring out something worthy of attention in the coming weeks.

"If you think you've seen wild stuff so far, buckle up. It's going to be a wild couple of months," he told the crowd of around 100 people, according to Politico.

Informal meeting of EU leaders fails to offer any solutions to the migrant crisis

An informal summit of EU leaders failed on Sunday to offer a way to tackle the increasingly divisive issue of migrants. Some of the most vocal opponents of Brussels' policies failed to show up at all.

The Sunday meeting, convened by European Commission President Jean Claude-Juncker ahead of a formal summit slated for June 28-29, achieved little but showcasing the stress placed on EU solidarity by the festering issue of illegal migration. Of the 28 member states only 16 had representatives present.

Visegrad boycott

Eastern European nations, which played a key part in downing Brussels' plan to distribute the burden of asylum-seekers across all members of the bloc, boycotted the gathering, branding it an attempt by German Chancellor Angela Merkel to ease political pressure she faces at home. Hungary, Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia, which form the so-called Visegrad Group, instead held their own meeting on June 21.

French MP & ex-presidential candidate: US, Brussels, migrants have colonized France

France has been "colonized" by migrants, as well as by the US, China, Germany, and the European Union, a French euroskeptic politician has warned, stating that he doesn't want his country to "disappear."

"I think that our country is colonized...economically by the Americans and the Chinese, politically by Brussels, the European Union and Germany," Nicolas Dupont-Aignan said during an interview on France's 'On the Couch' program.

Dupont-Aignan, a euroskeptic who founded his party France Arise, could have been right-wing leader Marine Le Pen's pick for prime minister if she had made it far enough in last year's presidential election. He also participated in the 2012 presidential elections. The politician has long been a critic of France's immigration policies and strategy to combat terrorism, stating in 2016 that Paris can't defeat terrorism if it stays "obedient" to Berlin and Washington.

He went on to make a rather controversial statement about migrants, saying they are "religiously" colonizing the country.

Nine EU nations will on Monday (25 June) formalise a plan to create a European military intervention force, a French minister said, with Britain backing the measure as a way to maintain strong defence ties with the bloc after Brexit.

The force, known as the European Intervention Initiative and championed by French President Emmanuel Macron, is intended to be able to deploy rapidly to deal with crises.

A letter of intent is due to be signed in Luxembourg on Monday by France, Germany, Belgium, Britain, Denmark, the Netherlands, Estonia, Spain and Portugal, French defence minister Florence Parly told the newspaper Le Figaro.

The EU took a major step towards building closer defence ties on Monday (13 November), with 23 member states signing a landmark agreement, promoted by France and Germany, to fund and boost cooperation following Britain's decision to leave the bloc.

The initiative involves "joint planning work on crisis scenarios that could potentially threaten European security", according to a source close to the minister, including natural disasters, intervention in a crisis or evacuation of nationals.

It would be separate from other EU defence cooperation, meaning there would be no obstacle to Britain taking part after it leaves the bloc.

Comment: Seriously, what 'threat' can Europe possibly face, aside from its own self-inflicted wounds in the form of mass immigration and Western-backed jihadists?

Dem Chief of Staff met with 'resistance' when trying to expose Awan theft ring

Wendy Anderson Awan
Rep. Yvette Clarke's deputy chief of staff came into the office on a Saturday in December 2015 and caught the New York Democrat's part-time IT aide, Abid Awan, rummaging through the congresswoman's work area with new iPods and other equipment strewn around the room, according to a House document and interviews with Hill staff.

Wendy Anderson told Abid to get out of the office, the document said. She told Capitol Hill investigators that she soon suspected Clarke's chief of staff, Shelley Davis, was working with Abid on a theft scheme, multiple House staffers with knowledge of the situation told The Daily Caller News Foundation. They also said that Anderson pushed for Abid's firing.

But Clarke did not fire Abid until six months after the congresswoman formally acknowledged that $120,000 in equipment was missing, records show - not until after House investigators independently announced a review that would potentially catch financial discrepancies. Even then, Anderson told investigators she believed another top staffer in Clarke's office was subverting their efforts, a House staffer with knowledge of the investigation said.

James Corbett: The Monsanto and Bayer merger: A match made in hell (VIDEO)

Bayer Monsanto
It is hardly surprising that the first thing Bayer did after completing their takeover of Monsanto earlier this month was to announce that they were dropping the Monsanto name, merging the two companies' agrichemical divisions under the Bayer Crop Science name. After all, as everyone knows, Monsanto is one of the most hated corporations in the world. But Bayer itself has an equally atrocious history of death and destruction. Together they are a match made in hell.
