Russia repels Kiev's largest-ever drone raid on Moscow civilian sites: What we know so far

kursk drone strikes
Damage to an apartment block following Kiev’s largest-ever drone raid on Moscow civilian sites
The record assault unfolded ahead of US-Ukraine talks in Saudi Arabia, where Washington will pressure for peace.

Moscow faced its largest-ever wave of Ukrainian kamikaze drones on Tuesday night, with Russian air defenses successfully intercepting hundreds of the incoming UAVs, according to officials.

Later in the day, senior Ukrainian and US officials are set to meet in Saudi Arabia to discuss potential peace negotiations - a process President Donald Trump is pushing both Kiev and Moscow to embrace.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, a total of 337 Ukrainian drones were neutralized overnight.

The ministry's statement detailed that 126 of these were intercepted over Kursk Region, which is adjacent to the Ukrainian border and well-covered by Russian air defenses; 91 were brought down over Moscow Region, which surrounds the capital

Thousands reported killed in Syria as HTS-allied forces attack, execute Alawites

Al-Julani
[Grayzone] Editor's note:
Sectarian Sunni forces linked to the new HTS-led government of Syria have massacred over 1300 Alawites in the past week, according to a conservative estimate. The Grayzone has spoken to staff from a Western aid organization currently on the ground in Syria who say the death toll is much higher than the official count. They told us that over 4000 Alawites have been killed, thousands are wounded with little access to medical assistance, and some 200,000 are internally displaced, in hiding from sectarian death squads that have destroyed entire villages and conducted widespread looting. A source from the aid organization said the violence erupted when Alawi self-defense militias with no loyalty to the former Assad government attacked HTS forces, causing over a dozen casualties this March after withstanding three months of regular attacks and abuses. Calls for the genocide of Alawites quickly grew within pro-HTS Sunni sectors of Syria which eerily resembled those by Jewish Israelis baying for the blood of Palestinians after October 7.

A report by Antiwar.com follows below.

Comment: The West and especially the EU has been very supportive of the new rulers of Syria and closed an eye to them being ISIS terrorists committing atrocities. Yet, they knew what the consequences would be if Assad was overthrown.

Best of the Web: The USAID-funded Ukraine group that smeared VP Vance as pro-Russia 'propagandist'

US Pres. Donald Trump has lambasted USAID for absurd foreign expenditures. But Trump has omitted perhaps the most scandalous operation: in Ukraine, the US funded groups which defamed the US Vice President, members of Congress, and US journalists as "foreign propagandists," while training Ukrainians in "PSYOP" tactics.

The US government funded a Ukrainian military intelligence firm which smeared US Vice President JD Vance, US Counterterrorism Director Joe Kent, and Rep. Thomas Massie as "foreign propagandists of the Russian Federation."

To this day, the online blacklist published by the USAID-funded Ukrainian group, known as Molfar, lists Vance, Massie, and Kent as "foreign propagandists" aligned with the Russian government, and demands their "removal from public positions, the introduction of sanctions, and investigations into personal involvement in crimes."

"These individuals pose a threat to the national security of countries that do not support the terrorist policy of the Russian Federation," Molfar states.

Nearly all of Biden's official signatures were created with autopens

autopen biden

So who was really running the country?

Joe Biden's cognitive decline was obvious to anyone paying attention.

Biden would tell non-sense stories on the 2020 campaign trail, including his infamous incoherent one about "Corn Pop: A Bad Dude." The Washington Post's Robert Samuels tried to whitewash Biden's rambling story by writing Soviet-level propaganda validating the tall tale. Even Democrats knew that Biden "wasn't all there" during the 2020 campaign.

Biden would shake hands with people who weren't there. Biden would walk towards doors that weren't there, at other times staff would walk him around like a dog.

When interviewed by his own Department of Justice, Biden was so confused that they recommended not prosecuting him for mishandling classified documents.

Comment: PJ Media expands on the implications:
The Biden presidency might have been the greatest con job ever perpetrated on the American people. A shocking investigation by the Heritage Foundation's Oversight Project has revealed that virtually every document bearing Joe Biden's signature during his presidency was signed by an autopen — except for one.

What makes this revelation particularly damning is that the only document confirmed to have Biden's actual signature was his letter announcing his withdrawal from the 2024 presidential race. Let that sink in for a moment.

Remember when House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) revealed his discussion with Biden when Biden couldn't recall signing the executive order halting LNG exports? Now we know why — he probably didn't. The real question is: Who did? Who was running the country while Biden was not all there?

The use of the presidential autopen dates back to the 1950s, and there's been much debate about its legality. In 2013, Barack Obama became the first president to sign a bill into law using an autopen. He was vacationing in Hawaii at the time. His office relied on a 30-page memo from President George W. Bush's legal team asserting that the president's presence was not required as long as said president had authorized the signature.

What's not clear, in the case of Biden, is who was running the autopen and whether Biden was aware it was happening.

Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey is demanding that the Department of Justice investigate whether Biden's obvious cognitive decline allowed unelected bureaucrats to essentially run the government without presidential oversight. If this is true — and let's be honest, all signs point to yes — every executive order, every pardon, and every official action taken under Biden's name could be constitutionally void.

Bailey's letter to Michael E. Horowitz, the inspector general of the Department of Justice, spells it out perfectly.
I write to request that you conduct a full investigation into President Biden's mental capacity in his final days in office. By now, Biden's mental decline is famous. Under the 25th Amendment, his inability to make decisions should have meant a succession of power. Instead, it appears staffers and officers in the Biden administration may have exploited Biden's incapacity so they could issue orders without an accountable President of sound mind approving them. That would explain why the Biden administration's orders were aggressively much farther to the left than any previous President. If in fact Biden's staffers were exploiting his mental decline, those orders are null and void.
The evidence is overwhelming. We know that Biden's handlers desperately tried to prevent anyone from meeting with him one-on-one. Even Democratic insiders admit the truth. DNC fundraiser Lindy Li recently spilled the beans and acknowledged that Biden wasn't running the show; his staff, his wife, and Hunter were.

Thanks to the Heritage Foundation's investigation, we now have proof that Biden's signature was automated throughout his presidency — which raises serious questions about whether he was aware of what was being signed in his name at all. The Oversight Project rightfully points out that since Biden revoked Trump's executive privilege, we can easily determine who controlled the autopen and what safeguards, if any, were in place.

The implications are staggering. We essentially had a presidency by proxy, with unelected staffers wielding presidential power while the man himself was barely cognizant enough to read a teleprompter. This isn't just a scandal; it's potentially the biggest constitutional crisis in American history.

The American people deserve to know who was really calling the shots during the Biden administration. If these allegations prove true, every single action taken under Biden's name needs to be scrutinized and potentially nullified. The truth must come out, and those responsible must be held accountable.
And where does this leave the legality of the blizzard of pardons issued by "Biden" including his own family?

Saying goodbye to Benjamin Netanyahu is long overdue

TrumpNeti

Give Miriam Adelson her $100 million back and tell her to go home.

President Donald Trump's address to Congress and the nation on Tuesday night was remarkably devoid of any mention of why the United States continues to both enable and be complicit in the Ukrainian conflict with Russia as well as with the war crimes that are being committed by the state of Israel against nearly all its neighbors on a daily basis. The most recent abomination committed by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his band of thugs is the cutting off of food, medicine and temporary housing to the Gazans who were bold enough to return to their ruined homes due to a ceasefire negotiated successfully by US presidential envoy Steve Witkoff in January. Now that Netanyahu has decided to come up with some false assertions to break the agreement, allowing him to continue his extermination of the Palestinian people, Trump as peace maker seems to have disappeared without a trace even though the US was in a sense a guarantor of the phased disengagement. Instead, Trump has doubled down on the side of Israel, issuing a "last warning" to Hamas during direct negotiations with the group to release all of the hostages in Gaza immediately. Per Trump in a posting on Truth Social on Wednesday: "Release all of the hostages now, not later, and immediately return all of the dead bodies of the people you murdered, or it is OVER for you." Trump wrote that he would send Israel "everything it needs to finish the job," and warned that "Not a single Hamas member will be safe if you don't do as I say." It should also be noted that Israel holds thousands of Palestinian prisoners whose fate is evidently of no concern to Donald Trump while the Israeli "world's most moral army" has continued to kill numerous Palestinians even while the ceasefire was allegedly in place without a squeak coming out of Washington just as it has also been killing Lebanese and Syrians.

Keir Starmer is ditching Zelensky to avoid Trump tariffs and land a trade deal

Starmer has decided quietly to ditch Zelensky and to line up behind Trump's plans for a peace deal.

Prime Minister Keir Starmer's visit to Washington majored on an historic invitation for President Trump to make a second state visit to Britain. Despite considerable pre-visit hype among the UK mainstream media, Ukraine was barely mentioned. The cold truth is, Starmer is ditching Zelensky to avoid tariffs.

The subtle art of diplomacy is often hard to fathom for the outsider. When Keir Starmer called on Donald Trump in the Oval Office on 27 February, there was an air of conviviality that belied what some considered to have been, hitherto, a difficult relationship. The set piece moment was the Prime Minster handing the President a letter from His Majesty, King Charles II.

Comment: Given the 'failing Starmer effect', if he is the bridge, it is surely over an ocean of vastly troubled water.

The EU's leaders are now a global threat

European politicians
© Justin Tallis/Getty ImagesUK PM Keir Starmer hosts European leaders for future talks on peace in Ukraine
The bloc's out of control - elites can't solve problems, so they keep creating new ones!

Western European politicians have long approached governance with a strategy of avoidance - always seeking the easiest way out while postponing real decisions. While this used to be a problem only for the region itself, today, its indecision is threatening global stability.

Europe's current political landscape must be understood in the context of the dramatic shifts taking place in the United States. The continent's political elites are not striving for strategic autonomy, nor are they preparing for a direct confrontation with its biggest state, Russia. Their primary concern is holding on to power. In pursuit of this goal, history has shown that elites will go to great lengths.

Recently, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov pointed out that, for the past 500 years, Europe has been the epicenter of global conflicts or their instigator. Today, its independent military potential is depleted - both economically and socially. To rebuild, Europe would need years of aggressive militarization, which would impoverish its citizens. Western European leaders seem determined to ensure the latter, but they are not yet ready for the former.

Comment: Above are the thirteen (correctable/replaceable) reasons why their plans won't work.

A blueprint for the future: A four-pronged approach to global growth

National Center
© Press Service of the National Center 'Russia'Discussion in Progress
In an era of uncertainty, economic turbulence, and rapid technological shifts, the search for sustainable global growth has never been more urgent.

The Open Dialogue "Future of the World: New Platform for Global Growth", hosted the National Centre RUSSIA on April 28 to 30 in Moscow, presents a holistic vision that recognizes the interconnected nature of modern challenges.

By structuring discussions around four core pillars - Investments in People, Technology, Environment, and Connectivity - the initiative offers a comprehensive roadmap for sustainable and inclusive development. This approach ensures that economic progress is balanced, forward-thinking, and people-centered.

More importantly, the initiative stands out for its open call for participation, inviting anyone to submit ideas and insights. This crowdsourced approach breaks down institutional barriers, allowing fresh, outside-the-box solutions to emerge. Instead of relying solely on policymakers and economists, this initiative taps into the collective intelligence of global citizens, ensuring diverse perspectives and real-world applicability.

Comment: The future is open, should we have one.

Trump names 'greatest threat' to humanity

Trump Congress

Nuclear weapons pose a much more significant danger than climate change, according to the US president.

US President Donald Trump has declared nuclear weapons as the foremost threat to humanity. He criticized those focusing on global warming while overlooking the immediate dangers of weapons of mass destruction.

The statement comes days after the US president called for nuclear disarmament among world powers.

In an interview with Fox News on Sunday, Trump stated that "climate lunatics" predict minor sea-level rises over centuries but ignore a threat of a nuclear war that could happen "tomorrow."
"They talk about global warming, and they say the ocean is going to rise one-eighth of an inch in the next 300 years. And nobody ever talks about nuclear weapons.

"I watched [former US president Joe] Biden for years say the existential threat... is from the climate. And I said, 'no'. The greatest is sitting in shelves in various countries called 'nuclear weapons' that are big monsters that can blow your heads off for miles and miles and miles."

Comment: Enough rhetorical posturing. Let reality discussions begin.

Best of the Web: Trump's Democratic 'Allies'

trump
Former Clinton strategist James Carville has reinvented himself at age 80 as a sage Democrat podcaster. His predictions — remember, a victorious Kamala Harris? — are usually wrong. He enjoys engaging in public duels with celebrities to gain online clicks and media appearances.

Yet sometimes he appears judicious in his effort to return his party to the Clinton glory days of 1992-2000, before the takeover of the party by the lunatic left. That said, he too has become part of the new left nihilism he supposedly despises.

Most recently, Dr. Carville diagnosed Donald Trump as suffering from tertiary syphilis. Carville's "proof" was his identification of a bruise on Trump's much-used shaking hand, along with his supposed brain dementia. As confirmation, Carville described Trump as a "fat f — ing slob" with a "beached whale body." So, a once top Democratic strategist has gone from his 1992 iconic campaign reminder, "It's the economy, stupid," to smearing Trump as a fat slob with syphilis. Carville's descent sums up his entire party.
