Fuck Porsche - fuck all these German companies - lost their way. Must be full of chips from Israel I reckon - the evidence is getting overwhelming and that sure as hell ain't antisemitic.
Fuckers.
Odds are she gets another Corolla I guess....but I really liked the 2010 one we got in 2010!
It has been SUPER reliable - it has a few bumps and scratches - but she wants to basically "give it away" to our daughter.
Oh well....I know I can't assert my will on this - hells-bells!
Peace!
Ken
Consider the pagers in Lebanon and the death I reckon of Charlie!
Correct Voldemort!
~
Cause really - "state control" of personal property is nefarious - and the technocrats think they gonna "pull this off" have already been revealed.
Better ideas beckon....and they are fierce.
~
I'm going to make some gumbo - see you later you state actors - eff you!
You can't " make " a gumbo. You have to " build " a gumbo.
Regardless, Enjoy! I hope it gets you calm.
Fact of the matter is my wife told me - Gumbo has to have okra in it - I said to her:
Happy Holidays to you and family,
Ken
I happen to really like Okra, but rarely eat it. I grew it a couple years in the garden, but couldn't keep up. I even picked it while small and froze it, but ended up composting most of it. That said, the chickens do like the seeds if I split open overripened seed pods. If I had the room, I'd grow a grove of Okra just to keep them arbiters of chaos busy.
Happy Holidays to you and yours Ken.
Not only control, track all travel. Porsche just lost its value in the real world.
"... control modernized cars in real-time " means taking control over every function, including steering wheel, brakes and acceleration. And "in real-time" means exactly that.
I mentioned this occasionally, from own experience in this industry. So, take heed, all you "enemies of the state" !
If it does - I don't wan't it. If it might - I still don't want it - not worth the risk - ya know?
Does anybody know - and seriously please - this is real. Lives are on the line.
~
So, lets say it does - then does anybody have a suggestion?
Is there a vehicle safely purchased and owned - not under control of nefarious entities?
My wife desires a new vehicle - I'm asking for help from my sott.net friends.
Ken
We will get a new vehicle for my baby in January - and if said vehicle is a lemon - then there will be hell to pay! I do my homework - I might be 60 - but I ain't no damn old fart.
Thanks for nothing- time is up.
My plan just now is to play Honda and Toyota off each other - and see who offers the better deal - but GPS - that is a deal breaker!
Thank-you - you got no idea how important what you just said is to me!
Ken
Oh Gabriel - a basic car is all I desire for my lovely wife - the love of my life!
I would die for her in a heartbeat.
So - a basic car we will acquire - without no fucking GPS - not even in the internals of it - and I'll report back what we find out in January. God willing.
Ken
Incidentally - our budget is $30,000. ( You wouldn't believe how much silver has increased in value! )
I prefer to purchase a vehicle new - we ought be able to find something. I'll report back - cause this ain't no game - tis the real deal!
[Link] - like a Swedish band just joined NATO - uh....did you not realize...
NATO is toast, the UK is, so is the EU....
Better ideas beckon in '26 and my council is don't get or drive a Porsche - Germany has lost its way - it is more than evident - lost its way completely subsumed...by the city of london I reckon....
Unsubstantiated Claims in the Article:
The article goes beyond these facts with unsubstantiated speculation:
Suggesting it was not a malfunction but a deliberate "test of a digital war tactic" by Porsche or the German government.
No credible sources (including Porsche statements reported elsewhere) support intentional deactivation; the company has described it as a technical issue, and no hacking claims have been verified.
Conclusion
The core event is verifiable and accurate, but the article's conspiratorial framing (e.g., implying remote control as geopolitical sabotage) lacks evidence and aligns with the site's opinionated style rather than neutral reporting. Mainstream automotive and tech outlets treat it as an unfortunate side effect of connected-car security in a sanctioned market.
You either have no technical understanding, or you are a shill. I use to start out with assuming the former.
Agree or not?
And please answer the first question truthfully.
BK
Please be careful in response - not like this is a court of law or anything - but just now this topic is of import to me and I'm trying to make informed decisions.
Regards,
BK
It is another "AI" troll sent to derail and disrupt conversations on SOTT. All the hallmarks are there.
My view is there is just way too much complexity these days in automobiles - too many choices in a way - just too much added shit not necessary nor value added.
Personally - I prefer maintaining equipment on my own...or with some help from friends. I don't care for it when that choice is taken away. I'd be a buyer of a new vehicle that was reliable and which I could keep as such.
Regards,
BK
First, "Porsche" is basically "Volkswagen", and "Volkswagen" is basically "Porsche". Look it up, check the shareholder percentages.
This is another attack on Russia that will massively backfire. Volkswagena lready anounced to basically close shops in Germany. Now they join in to punish their customers for the sake of political optics.
But even worse, this plays right in the hands of the Russian government. Because it's neither the commoner nor the high-ranking government employee who owns a Porsche in Russia, but rich individuals and oligarchs. And those were opposed to Putin, because of the restrictions in dealing with the West. Those constituted the minority that left the country in spring 2022. The upper echelon of the most pro-Western and pro-liberal part of Russian society.
Well done !
Surely not many. But if I could wager a guess, a low to mid range tree-digit number.
Now - not to get "off-topic" but the price of silver is going through the roof.....my guess is the City of London does NOT have what they claim they do. What they claim is likely - "paper-product" only - oh me oh my - this might trigger some "derivative fiscal instruments of death and destruction" - oh well - hope you planned in advance.
The UK is toast - the EU as well - and Germany - what a pathetic shadow of their former selves they have become.
Austria ought consider themselves blessed I reckon....ironic - ain't it?
Which again shows their total ignorance. Russia is not like the West. Russia, as a civilisational state, is not controlled by a shady oligarch class like the West. The wealthy industrialists, most of whom got into that position in the "turbulent" '90, are allowed to remain in Russia. But as mentioned, they are banned from interfering with politics. Putin & Co. proved their point with Khodorkovsky and Navalny, who trusted in their Western handlers to get them on top.
Now the "rich" Russians can't escape to the West without being robbed blind, and they are punished by the "liberal" West for buying their stuff or having any assets within the West's reach.
How do you think they will react ...
Porsche has torched their brand by showing they can immobilize any of their cars for any reason.
Otherwise, I have never owned an American vehicle...sad but true.
~
Best to you and thanks again for your council. Ken
