Trump's joke about being made the next pope hasn't gone down too well with Catholics, but it's his big policy ideas that are really falling flat - especially his 'Liberation Day' tariffs and his 'peace pressure' against Putin to end Russia's war in Ukraine.

His Ukraine 'minerals deal' essentially rehashes the NeoCons' 'Iraq reconstruction deal' that did NOT rebuild that country and instead enriched American contractors, while his failure to 'annihilate' the Houthis' military capability doesn't augur well for preventing an Israel-Iran war.

Meanwhile, all other Western countries' elections continue being rigged, and, despite vocal public statements in defense of democratic freedom from Trump officials, it appears that there's little they can do to prevent the continued disintegration of Western civilization under the feckless stewardship of its parallel 'shadow' government.

I listened to about 5 minutes of mumbling about how freedom and common sense are the same thing, and that this somehow justifies Trump portraying himself as the pope, followed by apparent confusion about the conjecture that praying in your own home might be an offense to muslims vs the actual news item making the rounds claiming that praying in your own home within 200 ft of an abortion clinic could be against the law (obviously unenforceable and hysterical nonsense).

Off-the-cuff blather is fine in your own home with your own friends over a beer, but when you set yourselves up to be hosting a podcast that can go out to anybody anywhere, how about taking some care to actually consider and know something about what you intend to say? This is disgraceful.

No, I don't think I'm being harsh at all. I don't just roll out of bed and present myself in a public venue as someone with an informed and critical perspective that I haven't made one iota of effort to achieve. I don't expect others to do so either. There's a responsibility here that they don't seem to be aspiring to at all. Maybe they should consider whether they're really all that interested in doing this. As it is, they're an embarrassment to themselves and to Sott.

Let me ask a simple question - you been on a podcast basically reporting the same stuff ad infinitum - how you gonna keep it interesting when the stakes get raised I wonder.....so really - do it yourself if you think you can - I think I'll stick to being a peppa dirt farmer in Virginia thank-you, but I appreciate the effort this takes and the sense of humor - cause after awhile - how you gonna report on the same shit episode after episode and still keep it interesting - when the times will be changing - after which it could be critical to have a reputation.

I'm not enough of an extrovert to do podcasting, but if I were an extrovert, and I took the role on, you'd better believe I'd take it seriously. The last thing I'd want to do is go off half-cocked, and just let my mouth make noise, whether it made sense or not. Watch James Corbett or Courtenay Turner, for example. They hold the bar, but these guys don't seem to even know there is a bar. Maybe there's another kind of bar, though...if they can find one that allows smoking...where they could find a crowd that doesn't give a damn whether they make sense or have their stories straight.

I'm know that these guys are both intelligent and capable of being thoughtful and articulate. If they weren't, I probably would be more sympathetic and tolerant.

Here is the thing bout me Eventide - and well...uhh...I'm an endless barrel of hugs! It never gets low.
