Pisar was the longtime lawyer and confidant of Robert Maxwell. Pisar was possibly the last person to speak to Maxwell before he apparently fell to his death from his luxury yacht in November 1991
Pisar was sent to Majdanek, Bliżyn, Auschwitz, Sachsenhausen, Oranienburg, Dachau and ultimately to the Engelberg Tunnel near Leonberg. At the end of the war, he escaped during a death march; after making a break into the forest, he found refuge in a US tank. He is the only Holocaust survivor of the 900 children of his Polish school. After the liberation, Pisar spent a year and a half in the American occupation zone of Germany, engaging in black marketeering with fellow survivors. He was rescued by an aunt living in Paris. An uncle sent him to Melbourne, Australia, where he resumed his studies.
“If I had stayed in Europe, I might have become a terrorist or a gangster,” he later saidPolitico - How Tony Blinken’s Stepfather Changed the World—and Him - [Link]
At the end of the war, he escaped during a death march; after making a break into the forest, he found refuge in a US tank. He is the only Holocaust survivor of the 900 children of his Polish school. One must be educated by Hollywood movies to believe this. Unfortunately, this is the case for the majority of Westerners.
Pisar later escaped while on a death march, making a run for it when a squadron of fighter planes strafed the prisoners, apparently mistaking them for enemy soldiers. While in hiding, he came across a tank leading an armored convoy. Instead of the swastika, he saw a five-pointed white star and realized it was the Americans. “My skull seemed to burst,” he later wrote. “With a wild roar I stormed outside and darted toward the wondrous vision. I was still running, waving my arms, when suddenly the hatch of an armored vehicle opened, and a black face, shielded by helmet and goggles, emerged, swearing at me unintelligibly. … To signal that I was a friend, and in need of help, I fell at his feet, summoned the few English words my mother used to sigh while dreaming of our deliverance, and yelled: ‘God Bless America!’ With an unmistakable gesture, the tall American motioned me to get up, and lifted me through the hatch—into the womb of freedom.”
Pisar, then 16, and two close friends from the camps who escaped with him—Ben and Niko—soon found themselves working as black marketeers in the American occupation zone of Germany, trafficking in such goods as cigarettes and coffee. “If I had stayed in Europe, I might have become a terrorist or a gangster,” he later said. But he did not stay there; relatives found him and eventually convinced him to move to Paris, then Australia, where he became an academic star. He would receive degrees from the University of Melbourne, Harvard and the Sorbonne, preludes to an illustrious career in law that saw him advise people ranging from actress Catherine Deneuve to business tycoon Armand Hammer.Lucky find for those rich relative from Paris!
US Secretary of State Blinken says Ukraine WILL be NATO memberI think one must see this statement by Blinken in the context of another one Biden a few months ago made :
"Russia has already lost the war"
Comment: For now, this appears to primarily be belligerent rhetoric, because at least some analysts say that Ukraine can't join whilst involved in a conflict and with ongoing border disputes.
However, Russia has discussed creating a demilitarised zone, and so it is possible that this will compel it to neutralise Ukrainian regions even further West than they would have otherwise. Furthermore, this speaks more to the desperation of the West, and to Russia's upper hand, which it could maintain so long as it doesn't, precipitously, escalate the situation. And, amidst all this, the West ruins itself, its position on the global stage, and its ability to provoke the rising multipolar world.

More NATO involvement in Ukraine doesn't bode well, as the following highlights:
