I question the official narrative of the civil war and, in terms of being allowed to question the narrative, whether slavery had the same silencing affect as a the holocaust
The north eastern states may have given up slavery a short time before demonising the southern ones for still having slaves - but we still see the same power base in those north eastern states, still using their exceptionally moral behaviour to justify invasion and killing around the world
The civil war was pretty brutal and I have to question whether the men in the south fought so desperately to retain slaves or whether there are other factors. We see the same today with Syrians defending their country with everything they have and the official narrative is that they do this because they are desperate to be ruled by a "dictator"
How different would history be if the south had won its fight for independence
