My Cat has more talent than "they" could ever wish for. [Link]
Anyone who believes the earth is flat should be put in this category. For them, being trapped in a 2d environment is their personal reality; they put themselves there.
An imprint of hands coming together in applause creates that illusion.
This Oscar set is a group of people who all found something in common with every other person in the room for a few minutes of their life. That must have been a monumental, life changing experience.
For six whole minutes everyone in the room was applauding the exact same thing at the exact same time. There was a whole room full of like-minded people, acting in unison.
Contrary to the popular, almost disastrous misuse of the word 'ego', what they all have in common is that they barely have any.
What they have instead is an abundance of foaming, glutinous, false personality, smothering any possibility of a real "I".
These Oscarites have floodlights illuminating them from a stage of their own making. Together they share a world of disassociated, unsequential movie stories sourced from the time sensitive realm of 3-d.
