My roots are also from Croatia and I'm a frequent visitor there due to family so I know the people and the place very well.
They are very conservative Catholics particularly in the smaller towns & villages.
I think a short explanation is in order here from you.
I can guess the obvious but please enlighten me further.
This might be true about old people, but not about the nation as a whole.
But to explain my personal stance: I have a decent inside look at the cjirch due to my current job and I can say with certainty that they are the most hypocritical lot out there. They are also becoming much more militant in their moralizing ways.
The conclusion I came to is that the Church always really means the opposite of what they say.
So next time you her the pope utter the word peace just substitute it with war and you will understand what he is trying to accomplish.

And trust me....I sort of work for them (God help me!) I'm beginning to think lately that it's not the Zionists, nor the Freemasons, or the Illuminati or anyone else but the Vatican.
