Hillary Clinton's designer wardrobe is under fire. And you can save your pantsuit jokes, this time it's about the cost of her clothes. During her New York primary victory speech in April she wore a $12,495 Giorgio Armani coat during which she addressed the topic of income inequality — and people on Twitter have not been shy about calling out the presidential hopeful.

Despite occurring two months ago a recent New York Post article exposed the price of the coat, which ignited major backlash toward the Democratic Party's presumptive nominee on Twitter. (Clinton's campaign spokespeople did not reply to requests for comment.)



But supporters also jumped in at her defense.



During the speech she acknowledges those still suffering from the great recession and addresses how her campaign will tackle inequality. "In this campaign, we are setting bold progressive goals backed up by real plans that will improve lives, creating more good jobs that provide dignity and pride in a middle class life, raising wages and reducing inequality, making sure all our kids get a good education no matter what zip code they live in, building ladders of opportunity and empowerment so all of our people can go as far as their hard work and talent will take them," she said, via CNN.

So what makes this jacket worth more than $12,000? It's from Armani's Spring 2016 collection, is made in Italy and consists of woven multicolor napa lambskin. Turns out, not too many were feeling that price tag — it's currently on sale for $7,497.
