The Amarillo Police Department fired Officer Micah Meurer last week after he was accused of raping a woman while he was on duty.

The Amarillo Globe-News reported that investigators determined Meurer had sexual contact with the woman after he was called to her home on June 14. The 22-year-old woman reported the incident to authorities the next day.

A redacted police report obtained by KFDA indicated that investigators recovered multiple items with bodily fluids, clothing, a Walmart receipt and other evidence from the woman's home.

Authorities declined to release additional details about the incident or dashcam video from Meurer's cruiser.

A criminal investigation was being conducted by the Crimes Against Persons Unit. The Internal Affairs Investigator was also conducting a separate investigation, the APD said.

Meurer was initially placed on administrative leave. The department said in a statement just hours later that he had been fired for "violations of internal rules, including acts which bring discredit to the officer and the department."

No charges have been filed.
