Today as never before we need to comprehend the course, logic, and path of the process of history. Every day we need to make decisions that will affect future generations. It has become obvious that no single nation, confession, social class or even civilization can solve these problems on its own. We increasingly have to listen to one another: Europe and Asia, Christians and Muslims, White and Black peoples, citizens of modern democratic states and places where traditional society survives. The key is to understand one another correctly, avoid hasty conclusions, and acquire the true spirit of tolerance and respect toward those with different value systems, habits, and norms.

You start a discussion about this, and you are likely to bring with you a multitude of assumptions that might not even be true.
US government sources can be trusted; Iranian government sources can't be.
The US wants peace on the planet; Iran doesn't.
Iran would have nothing to fear from the US and Europe if it didn't harbor terrorists.
All these assumptions are probably false, yet implied to be true by an "Iran is dangerous" argument.
Hell, it's the US that seems to me to be the most dangerous right now!
THAT'S what some of these countries that don't want to go along with the plan are looking at. And those countries, in turn, are not necessarily being given good advice by their advisers. In fact, it is quite possible that the "advisers" that sit behind both the Western governments and the "anti-Western" governments could be exchanging notes! Acting, essentially, as third parties in the situation.
This confusion about what is really going on extends into every sector of life on this planet. No wonder so many just shut it off and decide to believe what ever their preacher tells them.
It becomes clearer to me every day that what this planet needs is not only people who can think for themselves but people who can know for themselves.
