Kate Moss and Agyness Deyn have an ageless competitor now. Japanese researchers have launched a new fashion robot that will soon strut her stuff down a Tokyo catwalk.

The robot has been created with a feminine face, large, doe-like eyes, a small nose and shoulder length hair, reports Associated Press France, adding that the robot is fit for mimicking a fashion model and will be used at a Tokyo fashion show next Monday.

Standing at is 5'2" tall, the average height of women in Japan, the robot boasts 42 motion motors programmed to mimic the movements of flesh-and-blood fashion models.

And it sure gives competition to models in the weight department with just 95 pounds despite having metallic silver panels. The National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology said the robot "has been developed mainly for use in the entertainment industry" but is not for sale at the moment.

"Hello everybody, I am cybernetic human HRP-4C," said the futuristic model at her unveiling where she "struck poses, flashed bright smiles and pouted sulkily."

The preview was a warm-up for her appearance at a Tokyo fashion show on March 23. And at a price of more than 200 million yen (two million dollars), the robot sure gives competition to her real-life counterparts in this department too.
