A 5.2 earthquake has occurred in the Aegean Sea.

According to information received from the Bosphorus University Kandilli Meteorology and Earthquake Institution, at 00:58 a 5.2 earthquake was centered in the Aegean Sea.The earthquake was qualified as intensive.

Following the 5.2 earthquake, which took place at 00:58, 18 other aftershocks were experienced in the same region ranging from 2.6 to 3.5 in strength.

According to the information received from the Bosphorus University Kandilli Meteorology and Earthquake Institution, following the 5.2 earthquake that took place in the early morning hours, at 01:06, a 3.2 magnitude earthquake took place in Çanakkale's Gökçeada island followed by a 3.5 earthquake at 01:15 and a 3.1 magnitude earthquake at 02:41.

Considered to be aftershocks, 15 quakes continued to rattle up until 08:27 this morning, the smallest of which was still of 2.6 magnitude.
