If you had a Thanksgiving turkey in the oven Monday, your kitchen was probably just as hot as it was outside.

In fact, Monday was Toronto's warmest Thanksgiving on record, a day that didn't just break the previous record, but shattered it.

We hit a whopping 32 degrees around 3:30pm holiday Monday, making it the hottest day of fall, passing October 8, 1916 when the mercury hit 29.6 degrees. The previous hottest Thanksgiving was 26.8C set in 1993. The 2006 high was around 20. The The normal high for this time of year is around 16 degrees Celsius.

Here's what some Torontonians had to say about the beautiful fall weather:

"It's absolutely fantastic. It's so warm and I'm over dressed. I should have my bikini on so I can go in the lake," said Angela Garner.

Sharing the same enthusiasm for the unexpected high temperature was Eric Mallette, "It's a bit surprising that it lasted so long but I'm very thrilled about it for this weekend anyways."

And talk about surprising, Toronto wasn't just warm by its standards Monday, it was warm by most standards. In Montego Bay, Jamaica Monday, the high was just 25 C, while the warmest part of the day in Miami Beach brought about 30 degress of heat.

But it's still fall in Canada, which means a major cool down is just around the corner.

Comment: With all the global warming going on, a major cool down could just be around the corner, as it has happened many times in the past. Ice age anyone?
