Wales: Bonvilston mum believes mystery lights were UFOs

A South Wales mum captured these photographs of what she believes could be UFOs above her home.

Diane Thomas, 45, from Bonvilston, Vale of Glamorgan, took the pictures on Saturday in her garden. She said she had checked if there were any balloon fairs or races in the area but had not found any.

"It was such a hot and sticky day that it was too stuffy in the house, so I went outside and happened to glance upwards," said Diane, who lives in Maes y Ffynnon.

"It was late, between midnight and 12.30am, and I first saw one orange blob to start with, then there were three, then five. That's when I thought I had better get my camera, and I managed to take a couple of pictures but I started to think they might have been balloons.

"After looking at the shots I thought: 'They are definitely not balloons.' I had never seen that shape and colour before, and they were moving in sequence - it was really strange."

Ian Welsh from Bala took pictures with his digital camera during days out in Bala and elsewhere in the UK.

"I did not see these objects when I took the pictures, it was only after I noticed them," said Mr Welsh.

The Free Press showed the photos to Scott Felton at the Conwy UFO Group, based in Colwyn Bay.

Mr Felton said: "I find one the most interesting of the images.

"Battles are raging across the UFO world and among all sorts of paranormal disciplines about these orbs or spheres appearing in photographic images.

"What I find interesting about this image are the three apparent spheres which are in a triangular formation.

US: Cluster of Several Lights Descend to Ground

Posted: July 7, 2009

Date of Sighting: July 2, 2009
Time of Sighting: 10:05 PM MDT
Location of Sighting: Near Longmont, Colorado

Description: I was sitting on the patio of Buffalo Wild Wings at Hover and Clover Basin with 5 friends and a half dozen other people at about 10 PM on Thursday night. Someone noticed a cluster of several lights just hanging in the sky and commented on it. We all stared at this light for about 90 seconds. The cluster didn't seem to be moving at all for half a minute or so, then moved back and forth from west to east and then back to the west before descending to the ground trailing sparks the entire time.

England: Westhoughton, Bolton - Star-Like Object Moving at Incredible Speed

Posted: July 7, 2009

Date of Sighting: 07/07/09
Time: 11:40-11:45 p.m

Witness Statement: I was stood having a cig next to my house, looking up at the sky, that I do most nights, just starring in to space, when out of the corner of my eye I could see what looked like a star moving at a incredible speed across the sky almost so quick I had to move very fast to watch it. It came from the south and disappeared out of sight heading up to Rivington, the weird things for me was the speed and it was silent, and the way it almost shimmed from side to side in the air.

US: Pennsylvania responds to UFOs over holiday weekend

Many Pennsylvania readers responded to the story on related UFO sightings there over the Fourth of July holiday weekend, including a few from other states.

Pennsylvania MUFON Director John Ventre asks that anyone who had a sighting here over the holiday weekend should report it to mufon.com.

Here are some of their comments. All comments are unedited.

Phil G - Around 9:00 PM on July 4th, myself and about a dozen others were sitting on my father in laws garage roof, watching the very illegal fireworks display from our magistrate neighbor. I looked south of us and saw exactly 13 orange lights, moving in a coordinated pattern in a south easterly direction. After reading some of the comments, this would be somewhere around the Hanover Township area. Oddly enough, this is our second "UFO" sighting in two years on the 4th of July. Last year, myself and roughly the same group of people witnessed an orange light traveling across the sky, which initially we thought to be a plane. The object then came to a complete stop for approximately 20-30 seconds, which grabbed our attention. It then continued on in its path, only to completely vanish and not be seen again. It should be noted that both nights were completely clear of cloud cover. Freaky.

US: Readers comment on El Cajon UFO

UFO Examiner readers had plenty to say about the annual UFO sighting at El Cajon, California, in a recent story - Annual UFO over El Cajon makes Fourth of July appearance once again.

You can read that article here.

Melinda Clegg - Watching the Spring Valley fireworks with a group of about 20 strangers, under the freeway overpass, we all witnessed the odd trio of red lights & the 4th light off to the side also. I have actually seen 1 of these red lights on one other occasion. From my front yard on Harbinson Ave. in La Mesa on New Years Eve 2008-2009 I saw 1 red light identical to these 4. I woke my husband up to get a witness. He was not impressed & went back to bed. I lost sleep over it, & haven't forgotten about it. It was just at midnight & stayed stationary in the sky for about 15 minutes & appeared to be over El Cajon, or towards the Laguna Mtns. (as it was not possible to judge distance). I want an explanation. Think probably practical joke.

US: July 4th UFO comments chime in from 14 states

Reader comments following the surge of July 4 UFO sightings came in from 14 states, according to statements made at this Examiner.com web page. Most are reporting their own personal sightings.

The following statements are unedited and were pulled from Examiner pages from this site.

Here are some of the comments that readers made.

Tamarac, Florida
Brent - In Tamarac, Florida, about 9:45pm as we where lighting off Fireworks, myself and several other people noticed two amber/orange color lights stationary to the NNW direction. Seconds later, the two Lights what looked like miles apart from each other started moving in a SE direction slowly, until they disappeared about 4 to 5 minuites later to the SE of our location. About 10 minutes later another amber/orange color light appeared where we saw the first two and seemed to go in the same pattern as the first two earlier. We did not believe that this sighting would be any type of commercial aircraft. I am glad that other people in different States have seen the same lights around the same time 1000's of miles away. Now, I feel better knowing I'm not crazy or delusional.
