Dubbed the 'Manhattan monster', a horrifying mystery creature with a mutilated face, snarling snout and five toes on each foot has washed up under the Brooklyn Bridge, perplexing New Yorkers.

Amateur photographer Denise Ginley snapped the ghoulish pink carcass while walking along the East River on Sunday and the grisly images, first published by The Gothamist on Monday, have sparked an array of conspiracy theories as to whether it is a giant water-logged rodent, a cooked pig that a family couldn't fit in, a ballooned dog or some other, more sinister, being.

'We were horrified by it and we took some camera phone pictures and then finally we decided to come back with my camera and I got up the courage to climb over the fence and get closer to it,' Ms Ginley told blog Animal NY.

The New York Parks Department shrugged off the spooky find, that Ms Ginley guessed was 'maybe two feet, head to tail', insisting it was just a swine.

For those who wonder how seriously the government plans to counter possible alien attacks, the ABC News report in the video below is a real eye opener. Taking the possibility of alien attack very seriously, chapter 13 of FEMA's "Fire Officer's Guide To Disaster Control," titled "Enemy Attack And UFO Potential," outlines what first responders may encounter in the event Earth's first contact is of the unfriendly kind.

Four witnesses from two neighboring northeastern Texas counties have reported seeing UFOs within 48 hours. The four reports are seen at the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) reporting database.

The first of the recent Texan series of sightings happened on Tuesday (July 24) at about 10:00 pm. The witness reported seeing the same kind of unidentified aircraft in the past.

"This is exactly the same craft I reported earlier this year... It moves very slowly, but this time it was directly above me and did emit a very low rumble that I did not hear the last time I saw it," the witness reported, adding there was "no other aircraft in the immediate area this time and the ruby red light in center mass which I saw last time was not on (or visible)."

By midnight, another report came from the nearby Denton country at about 12:30 a.m. The witness was stargazing when what appeared to be a triangle-shaped aircraft was spotted.

"At first I thought it was a satellite, but noticed that it wasn't conventional moving across the sky. Instead it was creating hovering-like motions as well as moving back and forth and even covering up other stars in the night sky," the witness said.

For at least the second time in three weeks, an Ada County resident reported seeing something unusual in the sky, "moving extremely fast about 600 feet overhead."

According to the Mutual UFO Network database, the witness logged his sighting soon after spotting what he called a "large, oval-shaped light" about midnight on July 23.

"It flew extremely fast right over the top of our neighborhood from north to south," the witness wrote. "It was not manmade, the speed it was traveling was outrageously fast, and it made no sound at all."

The witness said his background included serving as a Marine crash fire rescue specialist, and the UFO was unlike any "aircraft that we encountered in the military."

Another sighting was reported by a separate Ada County witness on July 4, claiming he saw a "car size, orange, glowing object."

Fairies are so 'yesterday'. What about the more exotic fauna from the forests of the imagination? Let's start with the mutant hare at Windsor!

I remember Lilian, Countess of Cromartie, telling me of a strange incident that once happened to her. She was walking alone one bright summer morning in Windsor Great Park. Suddenly she saw an amazing looking creature loping slowly towards her. It resembled an enormous hare. That is to say, its legs and head were those of a hare, but its size was that of a goat, and its homed head was half-goat, half-hare. This creature, loping without any fear, and with a hare's movement straight towards her, caused her to pause. She stood still and breathlessly waited its approach. It passed quite close to her, and as it did so she struck at it with her parasol. Instantly it disappeared.

Photographer Denise Ginley said that living in Chinatown, she sees her fair share of horribly crushed rats, but never anything like this.

"I saw those big teeth it has big teeth with bone exposed where it's top jaw should be, is just bone, like teeth are missing," she said.

She found the animal lying on its side in the sand along the East River under the Brooklyn Bridge.

Jeff H. Johnson is a well-known artist. His sculpture of the Patterson Bigfoot (above and below) is an important resin model, and not a toy. His cryptid replicas are familiar to most researchers.

Johnson was recently in Dallas, working on larger sculptures. He wrote the following, concerning an interaction about the Vietnam Wildmen or Nguoi Rung, that occurred there.

One of the people I was working with is a Vietnamese man named Chung. I have known him for years, and he is a quiet, serious, and hard working man. I saw the Destination Truth episode about the wildman in Vietnam, and thought I would ask him about it, to see if he had ever heard anything about it while he lived there.

I asked him, "Have you ever heard of the Vietnamese Wildman?"

I explained it is something like the Bigfoot of North American fame, an ape-like creature. He said "Yes," and that they are quite violent.

Chung said that some people had been killed by this creature, all due to a group of men that had shot one. He said that (while drawing a map with his finger) a group of men had traveled from Laos, cut through the edge of Cambodia, and at the border of North/South Vietnam, encountered and shot one of the "Wildmen." Then they fled back to Laos. Apparently, revenge was on the mind of the creatures, who attacked a small village in the area where the shooting took place, killing some residents. Chung made stomping and tearing motions while he described what they did to the victims.

I asked him when this took place, and he said about seven years ago. I then asked how he knew of the story, and he said he was visiting relatives in Vietnam while on vacation, and it was on the news there, even showing photos (of the victims, I believe). Interesting story, and I felt the need to relate it to you. Chung is a serious guy, and can be taken as such. So, somewhere in the media in Vietnam, there could be this story. Makes you wonder how many other "incidents" never reach Western news. I looked on a map when I got home that day, and the layout was exactly as Chung described it. Wanted to share this,

The object appeared to be approximately 3,500 ft. in the air. It was traveling West to East in a straight line. As it got closer to us, my wife ran into the house and brought out our 35mm camera with 30x zoom.
