UFOs pose no threat to Briton or so says the MoD

The Ministry of Defence will no longer investigate UFO sightings after ruling there is "no evidence" they pose a threat to the UK despite a senior aviation official admitting the country is visited by one unidentified flying object a month.

Those who have long feared an invasion from Mars or further afield can relax - at least, that is, if they believe the Ministry of Defence.

An end has been ordered to all official investigations of Unidentified Flying Objects, or UFOs, after the ministry ruled they do not pose a threat to the nation's security.

It comes as the head of UK Air Traffic Control admitted the country is visited by around one unidentified flying object a month.

Asked on BBC Radio 4's Today programme about the existence of UFOs, Mr Deakin confirmed they were still being seen by his staff.

He said: "Occasionally there are objects identified that do not conform to normal traffic patterns. It does not occupy a huge amount of my time. There are approximately one a month."

Yet despite this, the MoD insists it will no longer investigate UFO sightings.

Angry spirits blamed for mystery deaths in Thailand

Surin - Locals have urged the Fine Arts Department's office in Nakhon Ratchasima to return ancient objects to the Changpee temple ruins after the mysterious deaths of several senior monks and local leaders in Sikhoraphum district.

The locals believe the guardians of the 3,000-year-old temple ruins in tambon Changpee are angry after statues and ancient objects were taken from the ruins by the Nakhon Ratchasima-based Fine Arts office and other state agencies during an excavation of the site in November 2010.

Chainarong Thonglor, head of Ban Changpee village, recently invited nine Buddhist monks to perform a ceremony to pray to guardians of the temple ruins for their forgiveness following the deaths of 10 senior monks and other residents of the village. Most died from unknown causes, said Mr Chainarong.

Many residents are gripped with fear following these mysterious deaths, and want the Fine Arts office to return the ancient statues and other objects to the temple ruins, he said.

UFO sighted by many witnesses over Leighton Buzzard, England

A UFO sighting in Leighton Buzzard has been reported following witnesses saying they saw an unusual object travelling slowly through the sky.

Jo Jefferson claims that she saw a cylindrical shaped object, which had a centre square of an orange glow while stopped at traffic lights in her car on Wednesday at 6.20pm.

She said: "When the lights turned to green, I pulled over to a safe spot and got out of my car.

"A gentleman in his car had followed me and he too got out and came and spoke to me about the 'object' as he had also seen it. "
The intrigued spectators were then joined by four other people who claimed they too saw the UFO.

Jo added: "We all agreed it was not a plane, helicopter or Chinese Lantern as it had no wings, propellors or fins on it.

"We all saw clearly that it was a dull grey in colour, but we couldn't give any size as not too sure how far away it was.

"We couldn't hear any noise, again, because of the distance.

"It travelled exceedingly slow."

Baffled hillwalkers fear ALIENS have landed - after mysterious slime started appearing in the countryside.

They have discovered a strange jelly... and some experts believe it's landed from space.

The first report of an unidentified fluid object was in the Pentland Hills near Edinburgh, triggering a flood of similar sightings.

Now National Geographic Channel documentary Wild X Files attempts to solve the mystery after they had the weird samples analysed by scientists.

Paranormal investigator Steve Mera is convinced he was dealing with aliens after a sample he collected DISAPPEARED.

He said: "I was dumbfounded. I had no idea what it was.

"I thought 'let's get some samples.' The next morning, I saw the sample jar and I did a double take as there was nothing in it. It was there the night before, now it was empty." Steve was sure he was dealing with star jelly left over from a meteor shower. He said: "It comes from space."

Dozens of frightened witnesses dialed 911 to report a UFO sighting on Wednesday, after seeing strange lights in the sky over Yuma, Arizona.

Now it seems the lights may have been part of a military exercise conducted by the Marines.

Several videos of the incident, from various areas of the city, were posted to YouTube, all showing a very similar sight. Glowing lights in the night sky, some seeming to drop fireballs, and configured in a triangular formation.

The video added here seems to show an unidentified flying object with lights all around the hull. The man who made it sounds confused and frightened.

But, it seems it was all part of manuevers conducted as part of a training exercise by a Marine squad stationed at the local air station.

Curiosity rover filmed something flying across the Mars horizon - what is it?

Object 1 ascends in the middle of horizon 0:03. Object 2 appears at the far left at 0:24.

Possible explanations are satellites, meteors, parts of the rovers landing gear, stars etc. Objects still remain unidentified.

Leaked video footage or photo time laps (1 frame per second?) taken by the NASA Mars Curiosity Rover of unidentified objects in the sky and ascending from the ground. Receiving more footage and info soon, so stay tuned.

A Nanaimo man is still searching for answers to a strange object he captured on his camcorder in the sky above Campbell River over the weekend. And he is not alone.

Since CTV News first aired the story last night, we received feedback from viewers regarding similar sightings of strange lights in the sky. Many viewers told us that you too have seen the light, while others offered suggestions as to what it could be.

CTV News took the video to an astronomy professor at Vancouver Island University. He says the sighting could be anything, ranging from an aircraft to a meteor.

An amazing video posted on YouTube claims to show UFO activity on the lunar surface and unidentified flying objects hovering above the Moon. Can it be true?

The video, clips apparently taken from a longer documentary called "Moon Rising" is compelling because the objects caught on video don't seem to be lens flares or smudges. They seem to be substantial and in motion.

The creator of the video, timw1959, uses clips which show the Moon in relief against the blackness of space. In two easily observed sequences, there is unusual activity which does seem to show that something is moving around on the lunar surface and flying through the sky.

The first UFO seems to be dipping in and out of a crater, identified as Langrenus. The object is black, rounded, and relatively large and appears to hug the crater rim for several seconds.

Navajo Rangers and paranormal investigations

For the most part, law enforcement does not give much credence to reports of paranormal activity. However, if you live on the Navajo Indian reservation and you call the Navajo Rangers they'll take your call just as serious as any other. Retired Ranger John Dover says paranormal cases only accounted for less than 1 percent of their investigations, but he considers them to be very significant.

Dover made it to the rank of Lieutenant before retiring and was in charge of supervising the Arizona and Utah side of the reservation. Dover says, "Our officers are all trained at the federal law enforcement training center, so they are recognized by the federal government as federal officers." Dover also completed criminal investigation training at the federal law enforcement training center in Glynco, Georgia.

However, this training did not completely prepare them for some of the paranormal cases they investigated. Dover and his partner Stan Milford say they have rolled on reports of the usual paranormal suspects, such as ghosts, Bigfoot and UFOs, and they have also investigated sightings of creatures of Navajo lore, such as Skinwalkers who are believed to be witches that have learned to shape shift into animals.
