In the following SOTT Talk Radio show from late 2013, we discussed some of the 'High Strangeness' that has gone on, and continues to go on, in and around the Big Blue Marble.

From 'The Beast of Gévaudan', to UFOs to the 'Mothman' and back again, throughout modern history, tens of thousands of human beings have reported seeing and having bizarre and apparently inexplicable experiences with 'otherworldly' creatures. While mainstream 'science' automatically dismisses such reports as the product of liars or the psychologically disturbed, the reports keep coming in, both from normal people who, far from seeking a moment of fame, are very often extremely reluctant to even speak about what they saw, and people with impeccable credentials whose word, in any other circumstances, would never be doubted.

What is the truth behind the High Strangeness that appears to have plagued our planet and species for so long, and are human beings really at the top of the food chain?

Eyes to the skies - UFOs are back in Katherine region, Australia

THEY are back.

After a spate of sightings of unidentified flying objects in the skies above the Katherine region throughout 2010 and 2011, a Katherine man now claims that UFOs are back in the region - and he is not the only one.

On Thursday Katherine South resident Dennis Mangan spotted two red and green clusters of light in the sky above the Victoria Highway.

Mr Mangan said he was mesmerised by what he believes was a UFO.

"I have no doubt something odd was going on," Mr Mangan said.

"I have never seen anything quite like it," he said.

"Blinking red and green clusters of light hovering in the sky.

"They didn't make a sound."

Another witness, Katherine woman Archana Poudel, 26, said it was about 7.30pm when she spotted the "strange lights" in the sky above the Victoria Highway.

UFO much bigger than aeroplane hovers over Edmonton airport

Apparently, Sherwood Park in Alberta Canada is no stranger when it comes to UFO sightings.

MUFON, or Mutual UFO Network reported on December 28, 2013 that a strange looking aircraft was hovering over Edmonton airport.

"It looked like the landing lights of a passenger jet" as the eyewitness described as the object seemed to be like a fireball from afar.

The strange occurrence happened at 11:30 P.M. on December 17, 2013.

The eyewitness took a night vision photo of the unidentified flying object and described it to be 3 times bigger than the airplane. The witness described the movement of the craft.

"The light suddenly dropped straight down over the airport and hovered. It held its elevation and moved slowly to the west and hovered again."

In 1996 in Varginha, Brazil, during the course of several weeks at least two and perhaps as many as six alien creatures were captured or killed and turned over to American authorities, and a UFO may have crashed. Eyewitnesses described the creatures as humanoid and 3 to 4 feet tall. They had dark brown, hairless skin, big triangular heads with three short "horns" on top, and huge red eyes that were vertically oval.

A family from Nketa 7 suburb dumped its tenant's "goblin" at the Tshabalala Police Station, sending cops fleeing in different directions.

The incident occurred at about 8 pm on Wednesday.

A family that claimed a lodger owned the goblin brought it to the station in a suitcase.

"We heard some screaming from the charge office and most officers who had knocked off rushed to see what was happening. At first everyone gathered around the suitcase, wanting to see what was inside," said a cop.

The officer said a traditional healer who had come with the family opened the suitcase and a weird looking creature jumped out of a bottle that was filled with blood.

It's official: At least one corner of Russia is free of "fairytale creatures."

The legendary monster chupacabra was blamed for the recent inexplicable death of 60 sheep in a remote corner of the Moscow Region.

The livestock's killer left no footprints in the snow, which prompted farmers and media in the town of Beloomut, 150 kilometers southeast of the city of Moscow, to look for supernatural explanations.

But the region's Agriculture Ministry formally denied that a chupacabra could have been involved.

Rangers who investigated the incident believe that the culprit was a dog, either a stray or a pet that someone intentionally set on the sheep, the ministry said in a statement on Thursday.

All traces of the attacker were covered by the fresh snowfall, the statement said.

What you are about to see is extremely puzzling. A very curious "mystery object" has been discovered on the Moon by a YouTube user that was using Google Earth. I didn't even know that Google had mapped the moon, but apparently they have. What this individual found was a series of 7 "lights" that are arranged at a nearly perfect 90 degree angle. Some have suggested that this weird object could be a spaceship or flying craft of some kind. If it is, it is far larger than anything ever built on Earth.

Others have suggested that this could be the entrance to a base that is manned by either aliens or humans. And of course there are yet others that believe that the 7 "lights" are just the result of errors caused by the digital zoom. In the end, this is a mystery that will probably not be solved any time soon. Unless we send someone up to the moon to take a closer look, there is no way to tell for sure what is going on up there.

Some astonished visitors to Annadel State Park say they're grateful they weren't hit and killed when two large chunks of ice fell from a cloudless sky.

"They were coming down like bullets," said mountain biker Ron Schuelke, an economics instructor at Santa Rosa Junior College. "I've never heard of anything like this in my life."

As the white chunks plummeted and struck with distinct thuds Tuesday near the east Santa Rosa park's Lake Ilsanjo, both Schuelke and a second cyclist, Ryan O'Harren, were resting on the dam. O'Harren said the objects slammed into the ground close enough to him, Schuelke and four women hikers at a nearby picnic table to count as scary.

After the second impact, he suggested to Schuelke, whom he didn't know, that he put his helmet back on. Schuelke did.
