A home has been a part of their family since 1944 but it wasn't until recently that something strange started happening at the Benton family farm house in Walton.

Now paranormal investigators are flocking to the home trying to explain the unexplained.

The family that owns the home has been using the house as a haunted house attraction every October.

"Dad really thought that we should tear it down or it needed to make money somehow and that's when we thought of a haunted house," Mary Marcum said.

But this house could really be haunted and not by spookily dressed characters.

The family believes gutting the walls may have sparked these unexplained happenings.

The gruesome incident may have been due to someone becoming trapped in a plane's landing gear, police have said.

Horrified residents called officers after the body parts landed in the road in the Mushrefa neighbourhood of the city at 2.30am on Sunday.

Early indications suggest the body parts belong to a man stowed away in a passenger jet's wheel bay, police spokesman Nawaf bin Naser al-Bouq said.

The report came after a Saudi Arabian Airlines jet made an emergency landing in the city of Medina in the west of the kingdom, injuring 29 people on Sunday.

That aircraft had been travelling from Iran's second city of Mashhad with 315 people on board.

However, a spokesman for the General Authority of Civil Aviation said there was no connection between the emergency grounding and the Jeddah incident.

A new push to train priests in Italy and Spain to perform the mysterious rite of exorcism could rid these two Catholic countries of their demons - or at least confront a growth in occult worship.

Every weekday morning (except Thursdays), 76-year-old Father Vincenzo Taraborelli receives parishioners with a particular spiritual dilemma after the 8:30am mass in the Church of Traspontina, a stone's throw away from St. Peter's Basilica in Rome. In an incense-thick, candlelit corner of the church, he blesses the troubled with a prayer and holy water to ward off evil spirits. On Wednesday mornings before mass, he recites the rosary in a special prayer of liberation from the chains of the devil. The followers in the pews are glued to his every word, seemingly dependent on his blessing to keep the devil at bay.

Father Taraborelli is a trained exorcist for the Rome diocese, and his work schedule is very busy. He takes calls to set up appointments for private exorcisms on a dedicated cellphone number he only answers between 9 and 10pm each night. The rest of the time, he is performing the Catholic ritual to those in need.

"The church is very clear on the rite of exorcism," he told The Daily Beast after one of his spiritual cleansing sessions this week. First, the person requesting the exorcism must be seen by a physician to make sure the cause of the perceived possession is not mental illness. That, he says, is at the crux of why Pope Francis wants to train more exorcists. "Exorcists need to be certified to eliminate the practice of exorcism by untrained novices," Taraborelli says. "Otherwise it can be very dangerous for the person who believes he is under the devil's possession."

The enormous eye of Lion Rock in Hong Kong mysteriously turned red a few days before the new year, eyewitnesses reported.

A symbol of Hong Kong's spirit, the famous Lion Rock is a lion-shaped hill that overlooks Hong Kong's Kowloon area. At 2pm on Dec. 22, the lion's eye turned red twice, lasting 30 minutes before fading out.

Some citizens were alarmed by this phenomenon, taking it as a sign that Hong Kong is in trouble. They appealed to the Hong Kong people to take measures to safeguard Hong Kong.

Hong Kong citizen Ms. Xiao Hong said that she was waiting for a bus in Wong Tai Sin District when she noticed that Lion Rock looked very different from normal. She was startled to see that it showed a red eye.

The sky was very clear, she said, and so was the view. As she stared at it, the lion's eye became redder and redder, and its head looked alive, as if it was moving.

She also worked as Director of International Programming for Earthbeat, an environmental series broadcast on Turner's WTBS Superstation, in Atlanta, Georgia.

He was Canadian minister of Defense in 1960s, ruling over the country's armed forces during the time of the Cold War - and when he retired he publicly stated that we are not alone in the universe, and some guests from outer space actually live here, on planet Earth. Is this fantasy? Is someone actually watching us? Today we ask the man who says UFOs are a serious business - Paul Hellyer:

Sophie Shevardnadze: Our guest today is the Honorable Paul Hellyer, former minister of Defense of Canada, and he believes that life forms from space are present on Earth. It's great to have you on our show. Why do you say that UFOs are as real as airplanes flying over our heads?

Paul Hellyer: Because I know that they are. As a matter of fact, they've been visiting our planet for thousands of years and one of the cases that would interest you most if you give me two or three minutes to answer is that during the Cold War, 1961, there were about 50 UFOs in formation flying south from Russia across Europe, and Supreme Allied Command was very concerned and about ready to press the "Panic" button when they turned around and went back over the North Pole. They decided to do an investigation and they investigated for 3 years and they decided that, with absolute certainty, four species - at least - had been visiting this planet for thousands of years. We have a long history of UFOs and of course there has been a lot more activity in the last few decades, since we invented the atomic bomb and they are very concerned about that and the fact that we might use it again, and because the Cosmos is a unity and it affects not just us but other people in the Cosmos, they are very much afraid that we might be stupid enough to start using atomic weapons again, and this would be very bad for us and for them as well.

SS: No serious scientist has ever publicly confirmed evidence of an encounter with extra-terrestrials - why would scientists not confirm the facts if they exist?

PH: I'm afraid they must go out of their way not to find out. Even if they do 10 percent of the amount of research I've done in the last 8 years they would be as convinced as I am. I mean, they could do it even faster. Might take it a little longer, when they didn't have military background, but there are so many wonderful books that tell these stories and they've been authenticated; the sightings have been authenticated by more than one witness and also by radar, and they have landed in various places around the world, including Russia. There's famous case there, I can't remember the name of the place, but it was widely reported at the time, a man wrote a book about it and then the French bought the book rights so it wouldn't be circulated around... There's just so much evidence, if anybody will take a time off to do a little bit of research and study. Some people are interested and will take the time, and the others just say "Oh, you know it's just fantasy". Since I've been public on this subject I get probably three or four emails a week from all over the world, from people who've actually witnessed sightings, and some of them who've actually been on the ships, and some of them who've actually been transported to another planet. This information... it is top secret in a way that governments don't talk about it, but if you listen to whistleblowers and to the people who have worked in the industry, and who know what is going on, there's just a lot of information out there and it doesn't take very long to get your hands on it.

Flights were disrupted when a UFO appeared on radars at a German airport, police have said.

The unidentified aircraft cancelled one flight, diverted another and caused delays at Bremen airport.

The airport said the UFO showed up on its radar several times between 16h30 and 21h30 local time.

UFO sightings increased in 2013 and the areas where UFOs were seen the most may surprise you. Taking a look at the sighting report numbers from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON), we are able to compile some interesting insights.

MUFON is the largest civilian UFO investigation organization in the US, and probably the world. They have investigators in every state, and representatives throughout the world. Clifford Clift, MUFON's director in early 2012, told Lee Speigel of the Huffington Post in January of that year that MUFON received over 6000 UFO reports in 2011. He added that they had already received hundreds in the first few days of 2012 and were expecting a big year.

In 2013 MUFON received 7646 reports worldwide. 6457 of those were in the United States. So where are these sightings taking place? They are all around the world. MUFON has received reports from the UK to Romania. Here are the top 20 countries:

According to a National Geographic survey, 77 percent of all Americans "believe there are signs that aliens have visited Earth", and according to a recent Harris poll only 68 percent of all Americans believe that Jesus is God or the Son of God. That means that the number of Americans that believe that UFOs have visited us is now greater than the number of Americans that believe what the Bible has to say about Jesus Christ.

With each passing year, the frequency of UFO sightings seems to keep increasing, as does the number of movies, television shows and video games featuring aliens and extraterrestrial life. It is almost as if the population of the planet is being primed for something. Could this phenomenon be the "strong delusion" of the last days that is talked about in the Bible? And if there are beings out there that are not human, what is it that they want? Could it be that they have an extremely insidious agenda?

When it comes to UFOs, it is important to be skeptical. These days it is very easy to fake just about anything on video, and there have definitely been a lot of fraudulent reports over the years.

While searching for something interesting to watch, I stumbled across a program called Unsealed: Alien Files and my only comment is, "Seriously?"

This is one of the reasons that we have trouble getting science and journalism to take UFO reports seriously. It is one of the reasons that so many people have so little time for UFOs or who believe those seeing UFOs are deluded. This program, in the guise of a documentary, was filled with every half-baked idea, every conspiracy theory associated with UFOs, and every lousy piece of evidence available. It was horrendous.

What surprised me was that some very respectable people... Nick Pope and John Greenwald to name but two... were on it. In fact, the program that featured Pope and the UK's investigation of UFOs made some sense and provided some interesting evidence. It was clear from that program that a serious UFO investigation had been conducted by England's Ministry of Defence and that UFO information had been hidden in classified files by the authorities there.

But in another episode (they showed four in a row but luckily I was only exposed to two and a half) explained how Dwight Eisenhower, while president, had met with alien creatures*. It suggested that most of the alien races were up to no good but that one seemed to be aiding the human race. We were told that the Reptoids have a shape-shifting capability which means they can appear to be human, and that the greys have a treaty with the US to allow for animal mutilations and human abduction... Oh, and I don't want to forget the big gunfight in the hidden base at Dulce, New Mexico in which dozens of US service members were killed.
