At least 16 cases of thyroid cancer in children have been confirmed in a follow-up medical survey of those exposed to the 2011 Fukushima nuclear disaster. According to the prefectural government panel, at least 35 more minors thought to have the disease.

The prefectural government is giving medical checkups to all 380,000 children aged 18 or younger at the time of the accident at the Fukushima Daiichi plant in March 2011. Since the latest checkup began in April 2014, 16 children have been confirmed to have the potentially deadly condition that stems from radiation exposure, according to Japan Today.

Comment: Hokuto Hoshi, said that it is "unlikely" that the disease was caused by radiation exposure, reiterating his earlier claims that there is no direct link between thyroid cancer and the nuclear disaster.

Unlikely?! Way to deny the facts:

Forget the Zika virus: We're being poisoned by environmental toxins!

biohazard supermarket toxic food
The media is sounding the alarm about Zika virus, but the environmental toxins that we're exposed to on a daily basis are a much bigger threat to our health—and our children's health. Learn 3 ways that you can protect yourself and your family.

Over the last several years I've written extensively about the importance of nutrition, physical activity, sleep, stress management, social support, play, and a sense of purpose to our health and well-being.

Why are these factors so important? Because they are the primary drivers of chronic disease, which is by far the leading cause of death in the industrialized world. If you're interested in prolonging your lifespan, the name of the game is, quite simply, avoiding chronic disease for as long as possible.

Comment: The toxic state of the world and the lack of consideration on the part of manufacturers for the effects their products have on humans and the environment has resulted in toxicity being part of our daily lives, often without us even realizing it. You can, however, take steps to reduce your exposure to the countless environmental toxins out there, as well as remove them from your body: The Health and Wellness Show - Detox Protocols

Economic fraud: Parmesan cheese you sprinkle on pasta may contain wood pulp

Fake Parmesan cheese
Some brands promising 100 percent purity contained no Parmesan at all.

The cheese police are on the case.

Acting on a tip, agents of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration paid a surprise visit to a cheese factory in rural Pennsylvania on a cold November day in 2012.

They found what they were looking for: evidence that Castle Cheese Inc. was doctoring its 100 percent real parmesan with cut-rate substitutes and such fillers as wood pulp and distributing it to some of the country's biggest grocery chains.

Russia presents highly effective Ebola vaccine to WHO

A Russian vaccine against the Ebola virus has been presented to the World Health Organization (WHO) by Health Minister Veronika Skvortsova. Tests of the drug showed high resistance to the virus five months after vaccination, she said.

Russia's Combi vaccine, which was granted a patent last week, was unveiled at the Palais des Nations at the UN office in Geneva, Switzerland.

The volunteers vaccinated with the Russian drug have passed the first and second phase of research and "we can say that after four-and-a-half to five months... they still retained a high titer of antibodies against the... Ebola virus," Skvortsova told RT.

"In laboratory conditions, this serum allows to completely neutralize Ebola, with almost 100 percent efficacy. The vaccine is absolutely safe, and has almost no side, as well as offering an unmatched immunity-boosting effect," said the official.

Skvortsova noted the Russian vaccine against Ebola may be used in Guinea as early as March or April, with plans to produce up to 10,000 dosages of the drug every month. She has also scheduled to meet WHO Director General Margaret Chan on Tuesday.

If you value your health, vegetable oils are a terrible choice

Vegetables oils have been heralded as a healthy alternative to using normal fat when cooking. However, it turns out that vegetable oils are not all they're cracked up to be when it comes down to it. We've all been told, even by government and medical associations, to use more vegetable seed and bean oils, such as soybean, corn, safflower and canola.

We're told that vegetable oils are safe to use as a heart-healthy alternative to cooking with traditional saturated fats. The argument has been that traditional fats such as butter, lard and coconut oil cause high cholesterol and clogged arteries, eventually leading to heart disease. So-called "experts" advised us to avoid saturated fats in favor of polyunsaturated fatty acids - in particular, omega-6 fats.

Comment: Don't believe the hype. Vegetable oils aren't fit for human consumption.

Jon Rappoport: The essence of the Zika hoax

Matrixology 101: You're supposed to be fixated on the fiction of One." (The Underground, Jon Rappoport)

I've written a number of articles taking apart the Zika hoax, piece by piece, lie by lie. Here, I want to present an overview.

My analysis centers on two questions.

One: Is there a true "outbreak" of microcephaly in Brazil?

Two: Has the purported cause, the Zika virus, been established scientifically?

Russia develops only proven Ebola vaccine, will cooperate with western labs with no price-gouging

Health minister Veronika Skvortsova says that Russia's Ebola virus vaccine is so far the only one to have passed all stages of clinical trials. Scientists are ready to cooperate with western labs, and there will be no price-gouging, she told RT.

The official, who has headed Russia's health ministry since 2012, spoke to RT in Geneva, after the presentation of the vaccine to the World Health Organization (WHO), followed by lengthy closed-door talks with its chief Margaret Chen.

"We have received an endorsement from the WHO, which will supervise our vaccine field trials, and we hope that by the end of the year, we will have joint program on the distribution of the serum," announced Skvortsova.

Comment: Once again, Russia shows its ingenuity and generosity. If such a life-saving serum were developed in the West, it is likely that the price would be so outrageous that those most in need would not be able to afford it.

The new study the fracking industry doesn't want you to see

Fracking
© Simon Fraser UniversityIn areas where shale-drilling/hydraulic fracturing is heavy, a dense web of roads, pipelines and well pads turn continuous forests and grasslands into fragmented islands.
Though fracking industry proponents scoff at any intimation their so-called vital industry poses even scant risks to the public, a new study published in Toxicology and Applied Pharmacology just proved those critics right — fracking wastewater causes cancer.

Using human bronchial epithelial cells, which are commonly used to measure the carcinogenesis of toxicants, researchers confirmed fracking flowback water from the Marcellus Shale caused the formation of malignancies.

Toxic exposure & preterm births: "Insidious, invisible" impacts on baby health

babyfeet
© ShutterstockEmerging evidence suggests even mild exposures to some contaminants may raise a pregnant woman's risk of delivering her baby too soon.
When Dr. Brian Morgan moved to Fresno, California, a decade ago, the frequency of babies being born too early in his new community struck him. So did the widespread pollution - freeway exhaust, processing plant emissions, pesticide-tainted soil stirred up by the agricultural region's fleet of tractors.

"If you park your car in Fresno, it's gonna get a layer of dust on it," said Morgan, a specialist in maternal-fetal medicine at the University Women's Specialty Center in Fresno. "I began to wonder, and still do wonder, whether environmental pollutants are a factor here" in the number of preterm births.

Nutrition plays a role in ADHD: Studies suggest that diet can have powerful effects on behavior

ADHD diet
There's no evidence that the behavioral disorder ADHD is caused by diet.

However, research suggests that for some people, dietary changes can improve symptoms.

In fact, a substantial amount of research has examined how nutrition affects ADHD.

This article is an overview of these findings, discussing the foods, diets and supplements involved.

Comment: Contrary to the author's claim: 'There's no evidence that the behavioral disorder ADHD is caused by diet.' There is significant data that diet can effect ADHD. Eliminating toxic foods and food additives can affect positive changes in behavior especially in children.
For more information about the connection between diet and hyperactivity in children read the following articles:
According to a new study by Dutch scientists, restricting the range of foods fed to children suffering from ADHD can "significantly improve" their disrupting behavior and can prove a standard treatment for such kids.
A new study from Perth's Telethon Institute for Child Health Research shows an association between ADHD and a 'Western-style' diet in adolescents.

Leader of Nutrition studies at the Institute, Associate Professor Wendy Oddy, said the study examined the dietary patterns of 1800 adolescents from the long-term Raine Study and classified diets into 'Healthy' or 'Western' patterns.

Dr Oddy said:
"We suggest that a Western dietary pattern may indicate the adolescent has a less optimal fatty acid profile, whereas a diet higher in omega-3 fatty acids is thought to hold benefits for mental health and optimal brain function.

"It also may be that the Western dietary pattern doesn't provide enough essential micronutrients that are needed for brain function, particularly attention and concentration, or that a Western diet might contain more colors, flavors and additives that have been linked to an increase in ADHD symptoms.
