EpiPen manufacturer Mylan under investigation for Medicaid fraud, shady marketing deals

epipen
EpiPen maker Mylan's CEO's connection to the National Association of State Boards of Education may be a part of the shady dealings being investigated by US lawmakers, including allegations that they defrauded West Virginia's Medicaid department.

Mylan has been highly scrutinized after increasing the price of its medical devices that fight life-threatening allergic reactions by 400 percent this year. The pharmaceutical company is now facing an enforcement action after not cooperating with the West Virginia attorney general's subpoena issued last month, CNBC reported.

Heather Bresch is the CEO of Mylan and is reportedly very well connected. The daughter of a former West Virginia governor and current US Senator Joe Manchin (D) is facing accusations that she used her mother Gayle's position on the National Association of State Boards of Education to boost her company's earnings.

How the microbiome destroyed the ego, vaccine policy, & patriarchy

microbiome

The relatively recent discovery of the microbiome is not only completely redefining what it means to be human, to have a body, to live on this earth, but is overturning belief systems and institutions that have enjoyed global penetrance for centuries.

A paradigm shift has occurred, so immense in implication, that the entire frame of reference for our species' self-definition, as well as how we relate fundamentally to concepts like "germs," have been transformed beyond recognition. This shift is underway and yet, despite popular interest in our gut ecology, the true implications remain unacknowledged.

It started with the discovery of the microbiome, a deceptively diminutive term, referring to an unfathomably complex array of microscopic microorganisms together weighing only 3-4 lbs. in the average human, represents a Copernican revolution when it comes to forming the new center, genetically and epigenetically, of what it means in biological terms to be human.

Considering the sheer density of genetic information contained within these commensals, as well as their immense contribution towards sustaining basic functions like digestion, immunity, and brain function, the "microbiome" could just as well be relabeled the "macrobiome"; that is, if we are focusing on the size of its importance rather than physical dimensionality.

Kellogg recalls Eggo waffles in 25 states over possible listeria contamination

Eggo Nutri-Grain Whole Wheat Waffles in store
It might finally be time to let go of that Eggo, after Kellogg Co. announced Monday that it was recalling some of the popular waffles in 25 states over fears that they may have been exposed to listeria.

Some 10,000 cases of Eggo Nutri-Grain Whole Wheat Waffles were recalled, the company announced on its website. Kellogg says that routine testing revealed a "potential for contamination" in the products, but that no incidents of illness have been reported.

"Listeria monocytogenes can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems," Kellogg wrote in a statement. "The company has received no reports of illness to date but is taking this action as part of its commitment to the health and safety of the people who eat its foods."

This isn't the first time that Kellogg's Eggo brand has faced a listeria recall. The FDA found the bacteria at an Atlanta plant in 2009, according to CNN.

The company says the recall does not impact any other Eggo products.

New Jersey schools see unprecedented outbreak of hand, foot and mouth disease

Kinnelon Public Schools

The first outbreak seemingly came out of nowhere in late August: Fifteen football players from Don Bosco Prep in Ramsey had come down with coxsackievirus, also known as hand-foot-and-mouth disease, forcing the cancellation of the team's final scrimmage.

Thirteen days later, a similar eruption of HFMD struck 16 miles away at Pequannock High School, postponing the football team's season-opener.

And now this week comes news of the the latest developments: More sudden outbreaks of HFMD among soccer players at Kinnelon High and Hunterdon Central High, schools located 55 miles apart in different counties. The discoveries bring the total of HFMD cases to four schools in four communities in less than three weeks.

The emergence of the highly contagious virus has medical experts questioning why the outbreaks are happening and wondering how many more school districts will become infected. Meanwhile, Michael Prybicien, an athletic trainer with Sports Safety International, called the outbreaks "unprecedented."

"It's getting a little crazy," Prybicien said. "I haven't heard of multiple schools in New Jersey getting this specific virus. This virus is one that hasn't spread through locker rooms or schools in the past."

Ten natural methods to alleviate tension headaches and migraines

headaches, migraines
Getting a tension headache or suffering from a migraine can be excruciating and is a massive health issue for millions of people. They are one of the top reasons for doctor's visits, the 3rd most prevalent illness in the world and affect more than 15% of the population in the USA alone. People all over the globe have sought out the medical community in order to discover the root causes of migraines and tension headaches.

The good news is that it is not only possible to discover the root causes, but that you can heal naturally without drugs and I am going to tell you how. Many years of experience has led to uncovering many ways to find treatment, relief and remedies that work and can help you heal. The fruit of much of this experience is briefly explored in the articles that follow. You will learn about physical, energetic and mental/emotions aspects to this problem and how to heal from them.

One of the things that have been found as the least explored but THE most powerful way to heal to date in my experience is through dealing with the negative emotional consciousness aspects of this issue. Negative emotions literally can cause this problem and letting them go can alter it instantly in many cases. I teach people precisely how to do this through using different techniques. It may be hard to believe if you haven't seen or experienced it for yourself, but even the most stubborn cases have responded to this and all that is required of you is to be open to the possibilities. If you have explored most other things except letting go of emotions, I encourage you to pursue it.

Comment: Other significant causes of headaches could be intolerance to certain foods, such as gluten in grains, the chemicals in processes foods, as well as nutritional deficiencies. See also:

Florida State University is being plagued by an outbreak of hand, foot and mouth disease. More than a dozen students have been infected this week alone.

In a post on its official website, FSU announced that it has already set up preventive actions on campus after a lot of students were infected by the disease. Lesley Sacher, director of the FSU Health and Wellness Center, admitted that they are already aware of "more than a dozen cases so far."

The school has notified the Leon County Health Department. FSU officials are reportedly working diligently to educate the members of the university community to prevent further transmission.

The hand, foot and mouth disease is noted to last for about five days. There is no medicine to treat it. The disease is characterized by blisters that form on a patient's hands, feet and mouth with mild fever or sore throat.

The school has advised all community living facilities, such as University Housing, fraternity and sorority houses as well as scholarship houses, to sanitize their residences thoroughly and to provide bottles of hand sanitizer in each residence. FSU has also confirmed that it will continue its sanitation protocols for all public spaces on campus.

"Students should take the necessary precautions to sanitize their living and communal spaces including bathrooms," Tom Jacobson, director of Environmental Health & Safety, said. The school will also partner with establishments in the community, such as local bars and restaurants, to sanitize their premises.

Sweet ties to the CDC: More Coca-Cronyism

CDC/coke
More evidence suggests this government agency has been bought and paid for by Coca-Cola.

We recently reported that a high-ranking official at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) had resigned after extensive ties to Coca-Cola were exposed. Dr. Barbara Bowman, director of the Division for Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention, was helping Coca-Cola influence the World Health Organization, which had published new guidelines on sugar consumption that were unwelcome to the beverage industry.

Now it appears that Coca-Cola has ties to another CDC official, Michael Pratt, senior advisor for Global Health in the National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion.

Pratt has a history of conducting and promoting research funded by Coca-Cola, and works closely with a beverage industry front group, the International Life Sciences Institute (ILSI). ILSI's North American branch includes members such as PepsiCo, Dr. Pepper Snapple Group, Coca-Cola, and dozens of other Big Food members.

End the toxic tyranny - billions against Bayer

monsanto & bayer
© andnowuknow.com
Bayer and Monsanto finally agreed to say "I do" September 14, striking a $66-billion deal that Monsanto CEO Hugh Grant tried to sell as a move to improve "the lives of growers and people around the world."

Wall Street Journal reporter Jacob Bunge painted the news in a different light. Bunge implied that behind the Bayer-Monsanto buyout, a similar proposed merger between Dow and Dupont, and the recently approved ChemChina-Syngenta deal, runs the story of an industry in trouble.

"The dominance of genetically modified crops is under threat," wrote Bunge on Wednesday. Bunge interviewed a Ohio farmer Joe Logan who told him:
"The price we are paying for biotech seed now, we're not able to capture the returns," said Ohio farmer Joe Logan. This spring, Mr. Logan loaded up his planter with soybean seeds costing $85 a bag, nearly five times what he paid two decades ago. Next spring, he says, he plans to sow many of his corn and soybean fields with non-biotech seeds to save money.
With farmers giving up on biotech seeds, a global public wise to the destruction wrought by poisons like glyphosate (Monsanto) and neonicotinoids (Bayer), and a food industry increasingly under pressure to remove GMO ingredients, the Gene Giants figure all they need to do is get bigger - and more powerful - and they'll be able to use their clout to step up the bullying of farmers, governments, scientists and the media.

EPA says Monsanto's herbicide glyphosate 'likely not carcinogenic'

EPA collusion
© wattsupwiththat.com
Glyphosate, the key ingredient in Monsanto Co's Roundup herbicide, is not likely carcinogenic to humans, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency said on Friday as it outlined its current position on the controversial chemical.

The EPA has been involved in a decades-long process to assess human and animal health risks, as well as ecological risks, of glyphosate. Various agencies around the world have offered conflicting opinions on whether glyphosate causes cancer.

The EPA's "proposed" position on glyphosate was outlined in a 227-page paper it published on the regulations.gov website, which the EPA manages.

After reviewing the available data, the paper states, "The strongest support is for 'not likely to be carcinogenic to humans' at doses relevant to human health risk assessment."

Comment: Talk about the fox guarding the hen house! The evidence keeps mounting, regulatory bodies like the EPA continue to warp science, distort the truth and keep consumers in the dark!

Kansas kids mysteriously ill...in the same town as the forthcoming DHS Bio-Safety lab

biohazard
Manhattan, Kansas is in the news due to a mysterious illness sweeping through schools and making hundreds of children ill. Natural Blaze reports:
Symptoms include the necessity to go home due to stomach issues like nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. At first, officials thought it was norovirus (highly contagious stomach flu). Indeed, the media reports and officials were certain it was norovirus and a major outbreak had practically downed a Nevada school last year. However, as the sickness continues, this idea has been abandoned even though it spreads in a similar manner.

Additionally, some of the symptoms are not consistent among all the students. For instance, the middle and elementary students began contracting the sickness, but unlike the high schoolers, they are reporting fever as well. Last Friday, the high school principal issued a desperate plea for the sick students to provide stool samples to the health department.
As sorry as I feel for the children involved, this type of mystery illness is nothing to what may be waiting for them in the future due to the last reason that Manhattan, Kansas made headlines.
