Seattle Mayor Ed Murray has announced his resignation after a fifth man came forward to accuse him of sexual abuse. The mayor has denied accusations that he repeatedly molested his 13-year-old cousin decades ago.

In a statement released Tuesday, Murray adamantly denied the allegations, but said his resignation would be "best for the city."

"While the allegations against me are not true, it is important that my personal issues do not affect the ability of our City government to conduct the public's business," Murray said, adding that he was proud of the work he had accomplished during his time as a legislator.

Electric cars - When you can't beat 'em . . . outlaw 'em

Electric Car

Since they can't sell electric cars - not enough of them, anyhow - and not without subsidies so huge they amount to outright bribes - the solution appears to be to outlaw all cars except electric cars.

This is no joke.

There are IC engine No Go Zones in Germany and France. The Brits have just decreed a ban on the sale of internal combustion-engined vehicles period, beginning in 2040 - which sounds like a long time from now but isn't - because car companies begin designing cars about ten years before they see the light of production and so this fatwa means the car companies are on notice that the current generation of cars they are selling is either the last or the second-to-last generation of cars they will be selling . . . at least insofar as they are powered by internal combustion.

And so, they won't be wasting resources to design and build the next generation.

It's not just Britain, either.

If it were, the madness could be contained. Instead, the madness metastasizes. India (well, the government of India) wants all IC engined cars off the road - or retrofitted with electric drivetrains - by 2030, which is only about ten years away and so just over the horizon as far as product planning cycles go.

And now the commissars in China have announced they are all in . . . or out - depending on your point of view. The world's largest market for cars and the world's largest manufacturer of cars.

Same 2030 extinction-by-decree date.

That is comment worthy.

Vetting Miss America: Contestants toe the liberal party line by condemning Trump

Miss North Dakota
Newly crowned Miss America 2018 (Miss North Dakota 2017) Cara Mund celebrates during the 2018 Miss America Competition Show at Boardwalk Hall Arena on September 10, 2017 in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
Though the ominous feeling of concern for those in the path of Hurricane Irma in Florida hung heavy in the air, the show must go on. Miss America 2018 on ABC aired September 10th and throughout the show, donations for hurricane relief were solicited for those affected in both Texas and Florida. Never fear, though. Politics dominated the final question competition and yes, it was all about President Trump.

Breaking with the tradition of one question per finalist in the final round of competition, this year the pageant decided to ask two questions of each - described as one serious and one playful. The serious questions were saved for the last five finalists. Four of the five questions were political.

It began with a question asked by judge Jordin Sparks to Miss Missouri, Jennifer Davis, about the multiple investigations into whether the Trump campaign colluded with the Russians - did Miss Davis think the Trump campaign was innocent or guilty? She said, "Innocent." The crowd responded with mostly cheers. She said there wasn't enough evidence but if the campaign proves to be guilty, the Justice Department should punish accordingly.

Why the Trump Administration is doing the right thing by rewriting campus sexual assault rules: 5 men who were falsely convicted

Betsy DeVos campus sexual assault
One of the many disasters the Obama Administration put in place was a reinterpretation of Title IX that led to colleges setting up kangaroo courts that were heavily stacked against men in rape cases. Men were not given due process; the standard of guilt was changed from beyond a shadow of a doubt to "a preponderance of the evidence;" men were denied meaningful counsel; men were not allowed access to information gathered by the college proving their guilt and allowing men to cross-examine their accusers was discouraged. In other words, if you're a man charged with rape on a college campus, you're essentially guilty until proven innocent by a hostile system.

Unsurprisingly, this system has produced a significant number of false convictions. Now, some people might say that's impossible because "women never lie about rape." Of course, many women would never lie about rape, but A LOT of women HAVE lied about rape. Tawana Brawley, Emma Sulkowicz (Mattress Girl), the Jackie Coakley Rolling Stone case and the Duke Lacrosse case are some of the most famous examples, but depending on the numbers you believe, it can be quite common,
According to the FBI, a higher percentage of rape claims are false than any other criminal complaint - 8 percent compared to 2 percent for other crimes. More detailed studies have found much higher rates of false rape charges. A study of all rape allegations in a midwestern city over nine years found 41 percent were false and a study of more than a thousand rape allegations on Air Force bases over the course of four years concluded that 46 percent were false. In 27 percent of the cases, the accuser recanted.

Swedish police unable to 'cope' with massive numbers of sexual assaults stemming from migrant influx

Sweden migrants
InfoWars' Paul Joseph Watson reported on a journalist's investigation into the rape of a 12-year-old Swedish girl who was told by police that the prime suspect had not been interrogated because Swedish authorities simply "cannot cope" with the massive amount of cases stemming from Sweden's mass immigration policy was put into effect two years ago.

Mass migration is detrimental to a society, and Sweden is a prime example of this. Muslim migrants and migrants from uncivilized parts of the world are causing problems in societies that are far more civilized and developed.

In July of 2017, a 12-year-old Swedish girl was taken into a restroom by a man in the center of Stenungsund and was beaten, raped, and subsequently threatened with death. The girl's mother knew the identity of the attacker and promptly reported him to the police.

Lawmakers push the Trump administration to put Harriet Tubman on the $20 bill by 2020

Legislation seeking to replace Andrew Jackson's portrait on 20-dollar bills with that of slavery abolition icon Harriet Tubman was introduced in the House of Representatives, after the treasury secretary said the change was not a priority.

Lawmakers John Katko (R-New York) and Elijah Cummings (D-Maryland) have proposed a legislation that would require the Department of Treasury to update 20-dollar bills with Tubman's portrait by 2020 - announced by the Obama administration last year.

"It's not something that I'm focused on at the moment," Secretary of Treasury Steven Mnuchin said two weeks ago in an interview with CNBC.

"The issues of why we change it will be primarily related to what we need to do for security purposes."

Berkely police take man's money for selling hotdogs without a license - Go Fund Me raises $57K for him

police confiscation
Berkeley police are in the spotlight this week after one of their officers not only cited a man for selling hot dogs to willing customers without a permit but then opened up his wallet and robbed him of his cash as well.

The entire robbery was captured on video and subsequently went viral. But that was only the beginning. Showing how much society respects hard working entrepreneurs while decrying the police state that robs them, a Go Fund Me for the hot dog vendor has raised over $57,000.

The Go Fund Me campaign was started by the person who was brave enough to question authority and film the road side robbery. According to the campaign:
The funds raised will be utilized to cover legal and personal loses. In addition, funds in excess are to cover other vendors who have been robbed of their hard earned living through citations and removal of their carts. It is my goal to locate Juan in Berkeley. Any and all help to support and locate him is welcome.
On Monday, the video became so viral that UC Berkeley Vice Chancellor Scott Biddy had to issue a statement, in which he justified the theft of the hot dog vendor's money.
