'Black-identity extremists' seeking retaliation for police shootings - says FBI report

Controversial police shootings of African-Americans and an apparent lack of justice are causing "black-identity extremists" to target white officers, a declassified FBI report says. Critics argue the term is racially biased.

The term 'black-identity extremists,' used in the report, refers to both individuals and a loosely defined movement seeking to establish "wholly or in part, through unlawful acts of force or violence, in response to perceived racism and injustice in American society," a separate black homeland or autonomous black social institutions or governing groups within the United States.

Marked 'for official use only' (FOUO) and obtained by Foreign Policy (FP) magazine, the report says "it is very likely Black Identity Extremist [BIE] perceptions of police brutality against African-Americans spurred an increase in premeditated, retaliatory lethal violence against law enforcement."

Two Democratic and GOP Senators concur: Gun control laws don't work, would not have prevented Las Vegas shooting

Mandalay Bay shooting
Leah wrote about Democratic Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-TX) admitting that gun control laws don't work, which is a tacit admission that nothing would have stopped Stephen Paddock from killing 59 people and wounding another 527 in Las Vegas on October 1. Now, on the Republican side, Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) also said on Hugh Hewitt this morning that there is not a single policy that Democrats have offered that would have stopped an event like this. Here's a partial transcript [emphasis mine]:
Hugh Hewitt: I'd also like to ask you, I've heard a lot of debate, as it always the case, it's an emotional release for some people to talk about gun control. But of all of the proposals you have heard or seen on the Senate floor or discussed in the media, would any of them have stopped this monster from doing this hideous act?

Sen. Tom Cotton: Hugh, again, it's preliminary, we don't know all the facts, but from what I have read in the news, it doesn't seem like any of the proposals floated in the last 24 hours would have stopped this killer. You know, when I hear those videos, it sounds to me like machine gun fire, a belt-fed machine gun, which is exceptionally hard to acquire in the United States, certainly linked ammunition as well. But we don't know that for sure. I don't think we have confirmation, yet, of the kinds of weapons that were used, and where he obtained them, and under the circumstances that he obtained them. So I think we have to gather all those facts before we make any conclusions.

HH: You've heard that sound in combat in Baghdad, and in training as a Ranger, Tom Cotton. Let me ask you the security around that kind of weaponry in the United States Army. How does it get onto the black market, if it gets onto the black market?

TC: Well, it's hard to imagine the circumstance in which machine gun like a M-249 Squad Automatic Weapon or M-240 Bravo could ever get off a military base. You know, they're kept under multiple locks in an arms room. They're inventoried regularly. It's not something that you just find at Wal-Mart or a local pawn shop or anything else. Machine guns have been very strictly regulated in this country for 80 years. They've been nearly prohibited for 30 years. There is a small market for them, but again, it's, to obtain one is even more extensive background checks and government reviews than to obtain your typical rifle or pistol. So I think again, we have to, I'm not saying, Hugh, that I know that it was a belt-fed machine gun. I'm saying that it sounded as if it was one. And that's why we have to gather all the facts patiently before we make any conclusions.

Comment: Trey Gowdy agrees, calling on gun control proponents to verify that the multitude of existing laws are being fully enforced before the government piles on new legislation or regulation.

Another insane Hollywood celebrity has an unhelpful proposal for the gun control debate: killing every member of the National Rifle Association.

Sexting minors is illegal, but having sex with them is okay, an Indiana Supreme Court has ruled.

Indiana high school teacher Sameer Thakar faces three years in prison for sending nude photographs to a 16-year old girl after the Supreme Court ruled earlier this week to reverse a lower court's decision to throw out the case.

Thakar began texting the teenager in 2014, when he was 38. After a short period in which the girl told him she was underage, he then sent her images of his erect penis, court documents reveal.

He was charged with one count of felony dissemination of matter harmful to minors, but argued in court that the charge doesn't make sense.

Trudeau's liberal government is pro-feminist as long as women hold 'acceptable' opinions

Rachael Harder

Many Canadians were happy to see Liberal MPs walk out of a status of women committee meeting last week over the anti-abortion views held by Conservative pick for committee chair, Rachael Harder. I, on the other hand, felt betrayed. On Tuesday, Harder's nomination was defeated and Conservative MP Karen Vecchio, who did not want the job, was voted in as chair.

Justin Trudeau's government always tells us how it is pro-immigration and pro-feminism, ready to defend the rights, opinions and values held by the women and men who call Canada home. I'm forever thankful that I was able to migrate from Pakistan to Canada five years ago. As a Muslim, however, it is clear that my pro-life views and my voice are not being respected since they are not in line with Trudeau's supposedly feminist views.

It appears that to be a member of Justin Trudeau's government, women (and men) in politics have to toe the party line in terms of the "acceptable" opinion on women's issues. But that's not feminism. And it's definitely not welcoming to immigrants with diverse sets of values.

Because 'inclusion': Massachusetts elementary school cancels children's Halloween festivities

massachusettes elementary school cancels halloween
© YouTubeA Massachusetts elementary school is cancelling its traditional Halloween festivities on Oct. 31 this year over student inclusiveness.
What gives?
  • Mitchell Elementary School in Needham, Massachusetts, is canceling its traditional Halloween festivities, which include classroom parties and a costume parade.
Why the cancellation?
  • Not all families celebrate Halloween on Oct. 31 for different reasons, the school said, and on that day some keep their kids home from school.
  • Therefore, administrators and teachers decided to stop holding the festivities in order to avoid excluding kids.
  • Principal Gregory Bayse wrote in a letter to parents that one teacher spoke of "awkwardness planning a class celebration knowing that not all of her students would be able to participate," WCVB-TV reported.
  • Bayse added to the station that the faculty was "near-unanimous in believing" the Halloween celebrations should be stopped.

Comment: Is the question really about inclusiveness - or more about the local purveyors of social justice deciding that a traditional celebration is now 'politically incorrect'? Where will it end?

Hysteria! Noose-resembling shoelace causes racial uproar at Michigan State University

noose shoelace
A lost shoelace at Michigan State University caused a racial uproar Wednesday after someone mistook it for a noose.

MSU President Lou Anna K. Simon released a statement Wednesday morning saying she was "distressed" after finding out "a student reported a noose was hung outside of her room." Simon commended the student's "courage" for reporting the "racial incident" and put out a clear message.

"This type of behavior is not tolerated on our campus," Simon said. "No Spartan should ever feel targeted based on their race, or other ways in which they identify."

But by Wednesday afternoon, the investigation by MSU Police revealed there was no noose.

Expect more chaos: Antifa plans to hold nationwide statue defacings for Columbus Day

antifa columbus day
Violent left-wing anarchists have announced a nationwide campaign to deface Christopher Columbus statues this coming Monday.

Five Christopher Columbus statues have already been vandalized in New York City in recent weeks, according to Far Left Watch. In one case last month, vandals defaced a "larger-than-life" statue of Columbus in Central Park, leaving blood-red paint on his hands, and scrawled, "Hate will not be tolerated" and "#SomethingsComing" on its pedestal.

What is coming appears to be a coordinated campaign to destroy monuments all across the country on Columbus Day.

The NYC-based antifa group Revolutionary Abolitionist Movement (RAM) made the announcement on Thursday, September 21, calling on antifa groups nationwide to "decorate" their neighborhoods.

According to Far Left Watch, RAM is "an extremely militant group that advocates for the violent redistribution of property" and for "the abolition of gender."

Comment: Chomsky gets it right: Antifa is wrong in principle, self-destructive and a major gift to the militant right

School under investigation after cop body slams middle school boy in a playground fight

cop assaults kid
A particularly disturbing video of a police officer attempting to break up a schoolyard quarrel has surfaced and is shedding light on the Northside Independent School District police department for all the wrong reasons. In the video, we see a tiny child get body slammed to the ground - face-first - by the cop.

The incident happened on Monday at Rawlinson Middle School in San Antonio. The student who filmed it uploaded it to Instagram Tuesday. The brief video has sparked cries of racism as well as it shows the officer allowing the white student to walk away while brutalizing the tiny black student.

A parent found the video on Instagram Tuesday and then uploaded it to Facebook with the following description, where it went viral.
And you wonder why people are protesting the racial injustice in this country. I got this off my son's Instagram yesterday. Notice the two kids fighting and the San Antonio police officer coming to break the fight up. He's big enough to stop the fight between the two little kids, but he choose to aggressively man handles the little African American kids and lets the little Caucasian kid walk away. I don't care who started it. As a adult even a protector of peace you need to make the right decision and we see what his decision was. Those are little kids!!! Me as a parent, I don't care what color they were. I'm big enough and strong enough to stop the fight. They're parents would've been mad how I did it, but it would've been stopped!!!

Americans weigh in on the NFL national anthem protests and Trump's response to it

NFL Pledge
Whenever President Trump sets off a new controversy, there's always a period of hair-on-fire commentary, usually conducted in the absence of polls or other evidence of public opinion. It's happened again and again, the latest example being the president, the NFL and the national anthem.

Trump set things off Sept. 22 during a speech in Alabama. Now, after some time has passed, there are new polls with information on the underlying issue -- NFL players protesting during the national anthem -- and Trump's treatment of it.

On the protests, the short version is, the public, which disapproved when Colin Kaepernick first refused to stand for the anthem last year, still disapproves.

A new CBS poll asked, "Do you approve or disapprove of football players protesting by kneeling during the national anthem?" Fifty-two percent said they strongly or somewhat disapprove, while 38 percent said they strongly or somewhat approve, and nine percent said they haven't heard enough to say.
