Five more women have come forward to accuse convicted child rapist Roman Polanski of sexual abuse, according to the founder of a website called imetpolanski.com.

If verified this would take the total number of women who say they have been raped or sexually abused by the disgraced movie director to 10.

Matan Uziel, from the Real Women Real Stories campaign group which set up the website just days ago, said that five new accusers have been in touch with harrowing and "believable" stories about Polanski, 84, who is still wanted by US authorities over the rape of a 13-year-old girl.

The accusers, currently only named as "Jane Does" were aged between 9 and 16 when the alleged assaults took place between 1969 and 1976.

A man in Russia's Urals with mental health issues brutally murdered two women, then had an epileptic fit and died, police have said. A video released by local media shows the suspect attacking a passing car with a knife.

The incident took place in the small village of Kedrovka in the Urals region on Saturday, local police said in a statement, calling the events a "terrible massacre." The suspect, a mentally ill man in his 40s rushed into a local shop, where he repeatedly and fatally stabbed a saleswoman. The body of the second woman, apparently a witness, was found 8 meters from the first victim.

The man then dashed into the street, swinging his knife. Some passers-by attempted to stop the attacker, before he was detained by two traffic police officers who happened to be in the area. After the suspect was handcuffed, he suddenly experienced an epileptic seizure, police said. The man died on the spot before the ambulance arrived.

The suspect's mother told police that her son had behaved aggressively on Saturday morning, which led her to call her daughter asking her to take the man to hospital. "However, the relatives couldn't protect themselves and others," the statement said.

Former Welsh minister caught up in sexual harassment scandal found dead of apparent suicide

Former Welsh government minister Carl Sargeant has been found dead in his home just days after being suspended from the Labour Party over his "personal conduct." He is believed to have taken his own life.

His family said they are "devastated beyond words" at the loss of "the glue that bound us together," according to The Independent. Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn said the death was "terrible and deeply shocking news," while his deputy Tom Watson said it is a "tragedy beyond words."

Sargeant quit his post as cabinet secretary for communities and children in Cardiff last week after what he called "shocking and distressing" allegations were made against him. The nature of those allegations are not known.

Welsh First Minister Carwyn Jones said Sargeant had been "removed" from the cabinet, while Sargeant said he wanted an independent investigation "to allow me to clear my name."

Swedish municipalities allowing marriages for underage immigrants

Despite clearly contradicting Swedish law, underage immigrant wives have been repeatedly allowed to stay with their husbands by Sweden's local municipalities, which defend their decisions by citing humanitarian issues.

An immigrant crisis of unprecedented proportions has brought with it problems which Sweden hadn't known previously, such as polygamy and underage brides. Recently, two juvenile immigrant girls in Karlskrona were reported to be staying with their husbands. Neither of the girls was separated from their adult men, even though minors are not allowed to tie the knot in Sweden.

One of the cases involves an underage wife who came to Karlskrona with her husband and a small child. In the other case, the girl was pregnant upon arrival. Despite these obvious violations of Swedish law, Karlskrona Social Committee chairperson Ingrid Hermansson of the Center Party defended the municipality's decision. The rule of the thumb in such cases, the community acts "for the child's best" interest.

"We do not accept or condone child marriages, but the law also states that individual trials should be conducted in each case. Our assessment was that the girls could live with their men during the asylum process," Ingrid Hermansson said during the debate with the regional council, as quoted by the local newspaper Blekinge Läns Tidning.

Neighbors say Rand Paul's attacker was avowed liberal who frequently fought with them over political issues

Senator Rand Paul
The man responsible for attacking Sen. Rand Paul Friday afternoon was an avowed liberal who frequently fought with his neighbors about politics, according to a report Sunday from The Washington Post.

Local citizens say Rene Boucher, the 59-year-old man who assaulted Paul, was a socialist who frequently fought with neighbors about health care policies and other liberal issues. Boucher and Paul, a Republican from Kentucky, are on the opposite end of the political spectrum, they told reporters.

Jeff Jones, a registered nurse who worked with Boucher at the Bowling Green Medical Center, described Paul's attacker's politics as "liberal."

"He was active on social media and said some negative things about the Republican agenda," Jones said of Boucher, a Bowling Green, Ky., citizen who lives in the same gated community as Paul. "I think it was unfortunate that they lived so close together."

Changing perspectives? Former hardcore Salafist now advocating for gender equality and individual liberties after spending nine years in prison

Mohamed Abdelwahab al-Rafiqi, abu hafs
Abu Hafs, a former Salafist says his ideas now stand in direct opposition to his past beliefs.
For years, Mohamed Abdelwahab al-Rafiqi, also known as Abu Hafs, was a hardcore Salafist defending a strict application of Sharia and jihadist ideas. But after spending nine years in jail for inciting terrorism, his discourse has changed dramatically. Since his release in 2012, he has spoken out in defense of individual liberties and on taboo topics in Moroccan society such as freedom of conscience and the decriminalization of homosexuality.

More recently, Abu Hafs outraged conservatives by addressing an extremely sensitive subject that many political and religious actors refuse to even discuss in the kingdom and throughout the Muslim world: equality in inheritance rights between men and women. Under current Moroccan law, a female inheritor is entitled to half of what her male counterpart gets.

"I think it is time to launch this dialogue because there is a great deal of injustice against women on this issue," Abu Hafs told Al-Monitor. "Moroccan society has witnessed great social and economic developments. The law must be adapted to these changes."

Hossein Golabchi trophy hunter
A picture of a hunter grinning broadly with a dead snow leopard slung over his shoulders has prompted a now-viral online petition calling for him to be "brought to justice."

American trophy hunter Hossein Golabchi, nicknamed "Soudy," is seen in a photo that has been circulating on social media, posing with the dead endangered animal with two shots in its hind leg. Golabchi, who is originally from Iran, is believed to have killed the animal in central Asia.

The online petition has drawn over 104,000 supporters since it was posted last week - only 6,000 away from its goal of 110,000 signatures.

The Care2 petition was launched by Amanda W. of TERA International (Tiger Exotic Animal Ranger Awareness), an organization focusing on the preservation of exotic animals. Amanda started the petition on International Snow Leopard Day 2017 in hopes that "by International Snow Leopard Day 2018 [Golabchi] is brought to justice," the petition says.

A woman has been told the file on her mother's killer will remain secret for fifty-six years. Shirley Griffiths told Sputnik she was baffled why the National Archives had chosen to keep it secret, considering the killer died in 2009.

Shirley Griffiths' mother was murdered 46 years ago, and now the British woman has been told that the killer's file will remain a state secret until 2073.

Terry Bewley murdered Lilian Shapero in 1971, was freed from jail to kill again in 1992, and finally died in jail in 2009. But Mrs. Shapero's daughter, Shirley Griffiths, has been doggedly fighting for years for access to Bewley's file.
