SOTT Focus: Inside Israel's Torture, Rape, and Dehumanization Centers

imprisoned
Shocking even by Israeli standards, the horrifying truth of the occupation's systematic torture, rape, and degradation of Palestinian detainees reveals a brutality buried

While the world witnesses the atrocities and massacres committed by Israel's military assault on Gaza every day, the thousands of Palestinians detained by occupation forces - before and after the events of 7 October 2023 - face torture and death behind closed doors, alone.

Worse yet, these detention horrors have been brazenly publicized and even bragged about by occupation soldiers, with violent, vocalized support from wide swathes of Israeli society.

In the shadows of Israel's prisons, tens of thousands of Palestinian detainees are enduring a relentless campaign of cruelty. Reports detail harrowing accounts of beatings, gang rape, and psychological torture, compounded by the denial of essential needs such as food, water, and medical care.

NASA's Office of Inspector General (OIG) has raised concerns over quality control and standards at plane maker Boeing and its efforts to help the space agency return astronauts to the Moon.

A report from NASA's OIG released on Aug. 8 focuses on the Space Launch System (SLS) version 1B — the powerful heavy-lift rocket system that NASA plans to use to send the crewed Orion spacecraft and large cargo to the Moon in 2028 as part of the Artemis IV mission.

According to NASA's report, a "critical component" of this upgrade is Boeing's development of the SLS's new upper stage, the Exploration Upper Stage (EUS), which will aid in sending the Orion on its mission.

Once it is complete, EUS will give the SLS a 40 percent upgrade in carrying capability, going from 27 metric tons under Block 1 — the SLS rocket's first iteration — to 38 metric tons with Block 1B, according to the report.

Ukrainians ordered to shoot civilians during Kursk attack - soldier

A Ukrainian military commander ordered his men to kill armed civilians and wound unarmed men while operating in Russia's Kursk Region, a captured soldier has claimed during an interview.

Last week, despite suffering setbacks elsewhere on the frontline, Kiev launched a major cross-border military operation into Russia. Moscow's security service, the FSB, released footage on Monday showing a man who it claimed was captured during the hostilities "with the help of locals."

The prisoner of war identified himself as Ruslan Poltoratsky, 26, and said he was an active-duty member of Ukraine's 80th Air Assault Brigade. His unit was given instructions on how to act on Russian soil by an officer whom he knew under the call sign Strizh ("swift" in Russian) who presumably commanded the squad in which Poltoratsky served.

Fauci's 'DNA of Caring'

Fauci’s ‘DNA of Caring’
Dr. Anthony Fauci often claims a "DNA of caring" yet his actions reveal a stark contrast. Avoiding direct patient care, Dr. Fauci focused on populations — effecting a mindset aligned with abstract compassion for humanity that nonetheless neglects individual rights. His so-called 'DNA of caring' has most recently doubly stranded those subjected to it: first, by amplifying fear about Covid-19 while burying mitigating data; second, by pushing a vaccine in a draconian, methodical, and threatening manner, taking away liberty and jobs to an extreme never seen before in the history of mankind.

Additionally, by fast-tracking and strong-arming an mRNA vaccine-platform technology heretofore devoid of Phase II or III safety studies, Dr. Fauci prioritized hypothetical scientific advancement over actual current health, medical knowledge, and personal liberties — effectively double-crossing both the public's trust and violating his own integrity: contradicting medically foundational principles he had spent his career enunciating — perhaps influenced by pharmaceutical interests.

"Khelif is a man" : Female boxer who fought Imane Khelif speaks out, claims Algerian Boxing Team told her Khelif had been biologically altered by "living in the mountains"

KHELIF
[L] Bulgarian-Nigerian boxer Joana Nwamerue
A female boxer has come forward to reveal that Imane Khelif had "male power" and used "male techniques" during a sparring match in Sofia, Bulgaria. Joana Nwamerue said she met Khelif in Bulgaria, and was told by members of the Algerian National Team that Khelif was a woman who had simply been biologically altered by living in the mountains.

Providing brief comment to Reduxx, Nwamerue, who is so far undefeated in her boxing career, said she felt it was important to speak out because of her support for women in her home country of Bulgaria.

"[Khelif] has some kind of internal issues. But he is a man. I will stay [by] my words until he/she does a test to prove to the world that he/she is a WOMAN. But we all know that won't happen," Nwamerue told us, asserting multiple times that she believes the Algerian is male.

Russia blocks CIA-linked messenger

signal app
The Russian internet watchdog Roskomnadzor has restricted access to the messaging app Signal, citing legal issues.

Signal has long been promoted as a secure messenger, but critics have warned that it was developed and kept afloat with US intelligence funding.

In a statement to the media on Friday, Roskomnadzor said the ban was "due to the violation of requirements of Russian legislation, the implementation of which is necessary to prevent the use of the messenger for terrorist and extremist purposes."

The statement came several hours after Russian users of the app began complaining about outages.

A company used fictitious transactions and overestimated costs to receive tax credits, the authorities have said.

Ukrainian law enforcement officials have seized more than $5 million from a company supplying food to the Ukrainian army, as part of an inquiry into a suspected tax evasion scheme, the nation's Economic Security Bureau (BEB) reported on Friday.

Stacks of cash were found in the company accountant's car when it was intercepted by security officials in Kiev Region. The BEB also reported that she sought to hide a "black cash register" and to conceal the firm's illicit operations during the investigation.

The authorities published photos of the woman's car trunk filled with numerous bundles of euro banknotes. According to the BEB, the amount seized was €4.7 million ($5.13 million). Searches were also conducted on the firm's premises and in the apartments of some of its staff members.

The BEB did not name the company in question, but said it provided food supplies to the Ukrainian military under Defense Ministry contracts. From 2022 to 2023, the company delivered food products to the Defense Ministry worth 14.5 billion hryvnia ($352 million), the bureau said.

Virginia mandates paper ballots, tracking, and proof of residency for 2024 election

Youngkin
© UnknownVirginia Governor Glenn Youngkin (R)
Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin (R) on Wednesday signed an executive order to implement various security measures ahead of the November election - including the use of paper ballots, tracking possession of ballots during early voting, matching the number of ballots casts with then number of voters who have checked in, and the number of ballots sent to voters.

The order also requires absentee ballots to be requested before being mailed to voters, in addition to rejecting ballots mailed back unless the voter provides the last four digits of their Social Security number and birth year.

The state notably uses paper ballot counting machines that aren't connected to the internet and are tested before elections.

Meanwhile, Youngkin also ordered the state to update its voter rolls - including adding or removing people based on whether they are allowed to vote in the state, removing those unable to prove residency, removing the names of dead voters, and ensuring illegals cannot cast a ballot.

Comment: At least one state appears to be taking fair voting seriously. The other forty-nine?

CNN effectively worthless after parent Warner Bros takes $9.1 Billion writedown

CNN in the red
What had been obvious "to the rest of us" for years, is finally official: late last night, shares of Warner Bros. Discovery, the parent of CNN and TNT, crashed 10% to the lowest level on record after it reported dire results, which missed across the board and plunged across every income statement category...

total revenues
... but the biggest hit - and surprise - was the company's stunning $9.1 billion charge taken to write down the value of its traditional TV networks, such as CNN and TNT, which were acquired in 2022 when Warner Bros Discovery was created as part of its acquisition of WarnerMedia. The write down confirmed that legacy cable channels like CNN and TNT are no longer worth what they were when the $42 billion merger was completed. In fact, judging by the ongoing mass layoffs at the former, one can argue that CNN's value is now negative and will continue to be so until it stops hemorrhaging cash.
