Bankers, traders, and dealmakers on Wall Street will face significant cuts in their bonuses, according to a report from compensation consultant Johnson Associates.

Year-end compensation will fall 5-15 percent for investment bankers consulting on mergers and acquisitions, the report said. Bankers who help companies raise equity and debt are likely to lose up to 25 percent of their bonuses.

Both stock and bond traders could have their compensation cut by as much as 15 percent. Wall Street companies have seen bond trading revenue contracting for about seven years, as new trading regulations are cutting profits.

Banks are also preparing to cut salaries and staff. Citigroup, Bank of America, and Goldman Sachs have cut staff in order to maintain profit levels.

Today, August 10th, the Federal Security Service of Russia (FSB) announced that it had prevented a Ukrainian sabotage infiltration of Crimea. According to the FSB, on the night of August 6th-7th, a group of saboteurs attempted to break across the border into Crimea near the city of Armyansk. The saboteurs were covered by fire from armored personnel carriers and small arms on the Ukrainian side. Later, on the night of August 7th-8th, repeated attempts to break through into Crimea were foiled. Ten Russian border guards and soldiers have been injured. Two have been killed - a border guard and a GRU Spetsnaz company commander.

Information on the breach by Ukrainian saboteurs has spread across the internet for several days. Until today, however, the FSB did not officially comment on these events. Now the lingering silence has been explained: members of Ukrainian special forces' saboteur groups and agent networks in Crimea have been captured.

Today, the FSB issued an official statement that 7 members of a Ukrainian agent network in Crimea have been arrested. One of the organizers of the terrorist attack, an employee of Ukraine's Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR, military intelligence), Evgeny Panov, has also been arrested. He is currently confessing to FSB investigators. The FSB has also confirmed that 20 improvised explosive devices, mortars, grenades, and guns used by special UAF units were found at the site of the saboteur group's attack. According to the FSB, these munitions and weapons were meant for organizing a series of terrorist attacks on the highway leading to Yalta along which representatives of the leadership of the Republic of Crimea and Russia travel.

According to various reports, the Russian government is reconsidering the neoliberal policy that has served Russia so badly since the collapse of the Soviet Union. If Russia had adopted an intelligent economic policy, its economy would be far ahead of where it stands today. It would have avoided most of the capital flight to the West by relying on self-finance.

Washington took advantage of a demoralized Russian government, which looked to Washington for guidance in the post-Soviet era. Thinking that the rivalry between the two countries had ended with the Soviet collapse, Russians trusted American advice to modernize its economy with best-practice Western ideas. Instead, Washington abused this trust, and saddled Russia with an economic policy designed to carve up Russian economic assets and transfer ownership into foreign hands. By tricking Russia into accepting foreign capital and exposing the ruble to currency speculation, Washington made sure that the US could destabilize Russia with capital outflows and assaults on the ruble's exchange value. Only a government unfamiliar with the neoconservative aim of US world hegemony would have exposed its economic system to such foreign manipulation.

The sanctions that Washington imposed - and forced Europe to impose - on Russia show how neoliberal economics works against Russia. Its call for high interest rates and austerity sank the Russian economy - needlessly. The ruble was knocked down by capital outflows, resulting in the neoliberal central bank squandering Russia's foreign reserves in an effort to support the ruble but actually supported capital flight.

Hillary Clinton strategist Bob Beckel appeared on on Fox calling for the assassination of Julian Assange — a blatant urge for violence against the Wikileaks founder in direct contradiction of every possible natural and government law.

Wikileaks, of course, has published several damning caches of documents showing Clinton in none-too-favorable light — including emails from her controversially-employed private server as well as communications from the DNC which proved her campaign colluded with mainstream media.

On Thursday, six Tu-22M3 long-range bombers which took off in Russia attacked Daesh in areas south-east, north and north-east of the city of Raqqa in Syria, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

"On August 11, six Tu-22M3 long-range bombers which took off in Russia carried out a concentrated high-explosive ammunition attack on targets of the Daesh terrorist group in areas south-east, north and north-east of the city of Raqqa," the statement said.

The bombers were escorted by Sukhoi Su-35C fighter jets and Su-30SM fighter-bomber jets that took off from Khmeimim airbase in Syria's Latakia province. All of the aircraft successfully returned to their respective bases. The bombers carried out devastating airstrikes in several locations, eliminating a plant producing chemical munitions in a northwestern suburb of Raqqa, as well as a large warehouse containing weapons, munitions and fuel close to the city, and a large Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) field training camp.

A no-bid $10 million contract announced in late July is possibly the first instance in which the Pentagon has publicly acknowledged using private military contractors alongside American special operations forces fighting Islamic State in Syria.

In a public announcement on July 27, the Department of Defense said it awarded an intelligence analysis contract to private contractor Six3 Intelligence Solutions, a cyber and signals intelligence and surveillance firm that is a subsidiary of CACI International Inc.
