WikiLeaks accused the German Focus weekly of "being used by German intelligence" to spread misinformation after it published an article claiming the whistleblowing group works for Russian intelligence.

"The report has no credibility," WikiLeaks said in a statement, referring to an article published by Focus which claimed the organization is waging "misinformation and press campaigns in Western countries" on the Kremlin's order to increase its authority in the West.

Lavrov, Jaafari and Muallem all slam U.S. for ceasefire failure: Separation of Nusra and moderates now a precondition for any future negotiations

Lavrov

Russia will "no longer take seriously" requests that its own or Syrian forces make unilateral concessions regarding the ceasefire, without the Western coalition providing proof it's trying to separate moderates from terrorists, the foreign minister said.

In an extensive interview with Russia TV's Vesti v Subbotu (News on Saturday), Sergey Lavrov reiterated that "the revival of the ceasefire is possible exclusively on collective basis." If the US and its coalition partners fail to provide credible proof that they have "a sincere intention" to dissociate terrorists from the so-called moderate opposition "our suspicions that this all is being done to take the heat off Al-Nusra Front will strengthen."

The events of the past few days, however, showed the reverse trend, as more rebel groups started merging with Al-Nusra Front, Lavrov said, citing a statement from Russia's General Staff.

Comment: Lavrov is essentially saying there will be no more ceasefire agreements. Because by now it is clear that the U.S. will not and cannot separate out the "moderates". Syrians have known it for years, but now it's out in the open.

Comment: Churkin addressed the UNSC today, saying, among other things:
  • Moscow will no longer give concessions to the moderate terrorists at the U.S.'s request, since it doesn't work
  • Moscow pressured Damascus to make concessions to its enemies, but Washington doesn't keep its word
  • Washington demonstrated it cannot control its rebel groups, despite promises
  • Washington's attack on the Syrian Army damaged relations with Damascus (should be a no-brainer)
  • The offensive in Aleppo is justified: at least 2,000 al-Nusra terrorists use human shields and indiscriminately shell residential areas, holding 200,000 residents hostage - with weapons possibly provided by countries who "support anyone opposing the Syrian regime"
  • The militants are the reason attempts to deliver aid to Aleppo failed
Churkin dismissed the statements made by his US counterpart Samantha Power, who said Russia had to prove that it genuinely has intentions of bringing peace to Syria, saying the other parties also have to prove they are willing to take steps towards achieving a ceasefire.

"The ceasefire can only be salvaged now on a collective basis. It's not us that have to prove something to somebody unilaterally. We have to see proof that there is a genuine desire to separate US-allied rebel groups from the Al-Nusra Front, then destroy the Al-Nusra Front and bring the opposition into a political process. Otherwise our suspicions that this was only meant to shield the Al-Nusra Front would only grow stronger."

Brazilian President Temer admits Rousseff ousted over her opposition to neoliberalism

Brazilian President Michel Temer confirmed accusations that the coup had nothing to do with former president Rousseff's budgeting practices.

Brazilian President Michel Temer told a crowd of business leaders in New York that the parliamentary coup that ousted former President Dilma Rousseff was carried out in response to her opposition to a neoliberal program defended by his political party.

Temer had earlier claimed before the U.N. General Assembly that the coup that brought him to power followed the "constitutional order," as it complied with the impeachment process outlined in the country's constitution.

Rousseff was formally impeached over her budgeting practices, which were also widely exercised by previous presidents. Supporters of Rousseff sustained that the issue of budget practices was a smokescreen and that her impeachment was driven by political interests.

However, in his speech on Wednesday Temer did not mention Rousseff's budget practices but instead talked about her opposition to the neoliberal policies promoted by his party.

Brazil Supreme Court authorizes preliminary investigation into Temer campaign donation scandal

A Brazilian Supreme Court judge has authorized opening preliminary investigations into allegations that President Michel Temer sought illicit campaign donations in 2012.

The allegations were made under a plea deal by Sergio Machado, the former president of Transpetro, a subsidiary state oil giant Petrobras, which is embroiled in a massive bribe and kickback scandal.

According to Machado, Temer sought donations from Transpetro in 2012 to support the campaign of a Sao Paulo mayoral candidate.

The probe, announced by Judge Teori Zavascki late Friday, also cites several prominent policitians from Temer's Brazilian Democratic Movement Party (PMDB), his Brazilian Social Democracy Party (PSDB) allies and the Workers Party (PT) of deposed president Dilma Rousseff and her mentor and predecessor Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.

Based on the findings of the preliminary probe, prosecutors will decide whether to launch a formal investigation into the president.

Under the corruption scheme, Petrobras allegedly gave over-inflated contracts to other big firms, such as OAS and construction rival Odebrecht.

The scheme was allegedly orchestrated by high-ranking politicians who took bribes from the contractors, for themselves or to fill party coffers.

New FBI docs implicate Obama in Killary email scandal - sensitive information discussed using pseudonym

Let's time travel back to March 2015, when CBS reported: "President Obama only learned of Hillary Clinton's private email address use for official State Department business after a New York Times report."

But now Obama has a bit of explaining to do: New documents released by the FBI — on Friday night, to avoid any annoying media coverage — have revealed that Obama "used a pseudonym in email communications with Hillary Clinton".

A bit fishy, yes? We're just getting started. According to the newly released documents:
In an April 5, 2016 interview with the FBI, Abedin was shown an email exchange between Clinton and Obama, but the longtime Clinton aide did not recognize the name of the sender.

"Once informed that the sender's name is believed to be pseudonym used by the president, Abedin exclaimed: 'How is this not classified?'" the report says. "Abedin then expressed her amazement at the president's use of a pseudonym and asked if she could have a copy of the email."

Netanyahu 'occupies' toilet: Israeli PM needs 20 agents to go to the bathroom

Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu was the source of amusement in New York after he was spotted heading to the bathroom with a whopping escort of 20 bodyguards.

Netanyahu was out for dinner with his wife in the Sherry-Netherland Hotel's Harry Cipriani restaurant when nature called. As he got up, half of his 40-strong crew of security agents followed him.

According to a bystander, a few went into the bathroom with him, while "one watched the door and the rest lined up with their arms up to form a human barricade, so nobody could enter the bathroom or even get close."

The agents are part of the elite Shin Bet arm of the Israeli Security Agency.

Chaos of the Arab Spring brought about by Killary's secret 'ideas for regime change' in Egypt

"I'm going to give you credit for the 'peaceful' protests" wrote Huma Abedin to Hillary Clinton in the lead up to the collapse of the Mubarak regime in Egypt as evidence mounts that the United States manufactured the overthrow of an ally.

New documents first analyzed by Breitbart News show that the US State Department under Hillary Clinton developed and forged a program first started in the last months of the Bush presidency focused on training radical groups, including the controversial Muslim Brotherhood, on how to effectively use social media and other communication outlets to cause disruption and even topple governments.

The program known as Alliance of Youth Movements Summit was co-founded by a close adviser to Clinton, Jared Cohen, during his tenure with the State Department at the end of George W. Bush's presidency, which enabled anti-Mubarak activists to organize and plot the eventual overthrow of Egyptian leader Hosni Mubarak. The program was forged on November 18, 2008, only two weeks after Barack Obama was elected US President but during the "lame-duck" portion of the Bush administration with the first summit held at Columbia Law School in New York.

The seminar focused on using social media outlets including Facebook and MySpace to engage in a tactic called "smart mobbing" in which mobile devices are used to quickly assemble and coordinate mass rallies and protests before authorities are able to fully respond according to Cohen.

Comment: By now, any country who considers itself an 'ally' vassal of the U.S. should be disabused of the notion that the feeling is reciprocal. U.S. vassals are merely pawns to be used in attempting to maintain its hegemony, or resources to feed its war machine.

Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte will pay official visits to China and Japan late next month, Reuters reported citing anonymous diplomatic sources in Manila.

Even though the Philippines' relations with Japan are warm, those with China have long been soured over territorial disputes in the South China Sea.

Briefing reporters earlier this week President Duterte said that the conflict with China over disputed islands in the South China Sea made no sense and that he would seek closer business ties with Beijing.

Turkey and Russia are currently in talks over a protocol to coordinate combat flights in the Syrian airspace to prevent incidents, a Turkish military source told Hurriyet Daily News.

While working on a draft protocol, both sides reached a "gentleman's agreement," the source said. According to the agreement, one side must not enter the area where the other side is conducting combat operations.

The decision to coordinate combat flights over Syria was made on September 15 at a meeting in Ankara between Russian Military Chief of Staff Valery Gerasimov and his Turkish counterpart Hulusi Akar.
