The extent of the destruction of Mosul's old city and its iconic Grand al-Nuri Mosque has been uncovered in new aerial footage captured over the northern Iraqi city.

The video shows crumbling buildings and desolated streets around the once densely populated areas.

Russian Coordination Center from Hmeimim, Lattakia, said the Syrian Army never used any sort of chemicals, while conducting the counter-terrorists raids in the Damascene districts of Ein Tarma and Jobar.

According to a statement from the Russian diplomatic source, several officers from the Russian Coordination Center, were doing their work on Saturday evening in Al Kabbas neighborhood of Damascus (and which is located right next to Ein Tarma), stressing that no chemicals were ever used there or anywhere around.

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law on the creation of an online register of former officials, law enforcement officers and servicemen, who were dismissed due to their involvement in corruption, according to a document published on the official portal for legal information on Saturday.

The online register will be available online on the governmental information system on the civil service. The register will include the information on the individuals, who were dismissed due to the loss of trust for committing a corruption crime with an exception of information that constitutes a state secret, according to the law.

US President Donald Trump has once again lashed out at what he calls "fake media" on Saturday at a Kennedy Center event. Earlier in the day he said that 'fraudulent news media" was trying to convince his party that he should be using social media to express his opinion.

Speaking at the Saturday night "Celebrate Freedom" concert honoring veterans, Trump once again used the stage to criticize the media.
"The fake media is trying to silence us, but we will not let them," he said. "The fake media tried to stop us from going to the White House. But I'm president, and they're not."

"The fact is the press has destroyed themselves because they went too far. Instead of being subtle and smart, they used a hatchet. And the people saw right it right from the beginning. The dishonest media will never keep us from accomplishing our objectives on behalf of our great American people," he added.

According to Israel, Syria is responsible for any border breaches of Syria's own territory

Israel holds the Syrian government responsible for any breaches of its borders resulted from the hostilities on the Syrian territory and will act in accordance with the further developments, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said on Saturday.

Earlier in the day, the IDF said that a shell fired from the Syrian territory had hit the northern part of the Golan Heights controlled by Israel.

"Israel holds the Syrian regime responsible for any breach of its borders and will act accordingly," IDF Spokesperson Brig. Gen. Ronen Manelis said in a statement posted on the IDF Twitter page.

The Saturday incident is the fifth such incident in the Golan Heights within a week. Israel regards these shelling as unacceptable unintended incidents and responds with strikes on the Syrian forces. The first strike took place on June 24 and left two soldiers dead and 25 people wounded.

Comment: Pretty brash of Israel considering that the Golan was stolen from Syria in the 1967 war and in any case, Israel has never declared its borders in the first place. Though several UN resolutions have been passed condemning Israel's criminal occupation, it continue to construct illegal settlements for its most rabid colonizers. The real reason Israel is determined to hang on to its ill-gotten gains? Not "security" but the presence of rich oil and gas deposits in the area.

French gas company Total set to sign $4.8bn gas deal with Iran

French oil and gas company Total S.A. has agreed to a $4.8 billion deal with Iran to develop one of the world's largest largest natural gas fields, reports AFP.

The country's oil ministry announced the deal Sunday.

It is Iran's first investment by an international energy company since sanctions were eased last year after reaching an international agreement to slow the development of its nuclear program, reports Bloomberg.

The contract is to develop part of the South Pars gas field in the Persian Gulf.

Iran's Petroleum Minister Bijan Zanganeh said last month that the deal was in its final stage and would be signed within the coming weeks, Press TV reported.

If you wish to understand the degree to which a supposedly free western media are constructing a world of half-truths and deceptions to manipulate their audiences, keeping us uninformed and pliant, then there could hardly be a better case study than their treatment of Pulitzer prize-winning investigative journalist Seymour Hersh.

All of these highly competitive, for-profit, scoop-seeking media outlets separately took identical decisions: first to reject Hersh's latest investigative report, and then to studiously ignore it once it was published in Germany last Sunday. They have continued to maintain an absolute radio silence on his revelations, even as over the past few days they have given a great deal of attention to two stories on the very issue Hersh's investigation addresses.

These two stories, given such prominence in the western media, are clearly intended to serve as "spoilers" to his revelations, even though none of these publications have actually informed their readers of his original investigation. We are firmly in looking-glass territory.
