Swiss, Muslim politician shoots Icon of Mary and Jesus, posts pictures of it on Instagram

Sanija Ameti
Sanija Ameti, a leading Swiss politician and co-chair of the liberal movement Operation Libero, came under the spotlight for a post on her Instagram profile. The content, which sparked outrage and criticism from many people, showed Ameti intent on firing a gun at an image of the Virgin Mary with baby Jesus. The incident sparked a heated debate, and the politician later apologised for the incident.

The post Instagram: 'Unintentional provocation' ?

In the now removed post, Ameti had published two pictures. The first depicted her aiming a gun, accompanied by the words 'Abschalten' (German for 'turn off' or 'detach'). However, the content that really triggered the storm was the second shot, which showed the target of the shot: a sacred image of the Madonna and Child, which was part of an art catalogue.

According to her own statements, the choice of the image as a target had no religious or provocative intentions. "I needed a visible image for the 10-metre shot," Ameti explained. "I did not pay attention to the content of the images. This was a mistake, and I am deeply sorry if anyone was offended."

Comment: One has to wonder about the psychological state of such a politician. Although, given the behaviour of politicians elsewhere in the West, she obviously fits in: Regarding Ameti, in 2021 the BBC reported her comments about Switzerland's burka ban:
Sanija Ameti, a member of Switzerland's Muslim community, told the BBC that the campaign - and the depiction of Muslim women in the posters - had been upsetting.

"So many Muslims in Switzerland will feel insulted and not part of this society, and pushed into a corner where they don't belong. We don't look like these women in the pictures, we just don't," she said.

American, British warplanes attack Yemen, again

yemen
The United States and Britain have carried out yet another aggression against Yemen, with their warplanes bombing the center of Arab country thrice overnight.

According to Yemen's al-Masira network, in these attacks on Saturday night, the Mitam area in the east of the city of Ibb located in the center of Yemen was targeted.

This Yemeni media did not mention the possible casualties or damage from these attacks.

Various regions of Yemen, especially Hudaydah province, have been the target of aggressive attacks by the United States and England in the past months.

These attacks are carried out with the aim of putting pressure on the Yemeni army in order to stop the naval blockade imposed on the Zionist regime.

Comment: The repeated attacks aren't having any discernible impact on Yemen's righteous, and effective, blockade:

Censorship - Top German MP from the Greens threatens X and Telegram with bans

Anton Hofreiter
Berlin must tackle "online radicalization" and further tighten control over social media, the legislator said.

Germany must act to stop the dissemination of extremist content online and block major social media platforms if necessary, a senior MP from the country's Green Party has said.

MP Anton Hofreiter, the chairman of the Bundestag's European policy committee, made the remarks on Saturday while speaking to reporters from Funke Media Group. The politician called for tighter control over social media, up to the outright blocking of certain platforms.

"One of the biggest problems of extremism is online radicalization," Hofreiter stated, adding that the dissemination of "anti-constitutional content on the Internet" must be stopped.

"We need to tackle the root of the problem and push back radicalization in digital space as well as in society," he stressed.

Comment: One should be aware that radicalization to the elite simply means any people or groups who are in opposition to or dare to question the them.

Comment: Anton Hofreiter is a German MP for the Greens since 2005. In the recent German state elections in Thuringia and Saxony, the Greens lost all their seats in Thuringia and just scraped above the cut off point in Saxony with 5.11% (with 5% being the cut off). In those elections the socalled far right and far left won massively and they are the ones being demonized in Germany as radical extremists. The voters strongly voted for a stop of the support for Ukraine, a country which Hofreiter strongly supports with weapons aid and financial aid.

So what Anton Hofreiter is proposing could easily be seen as totalitarian measures to remain in power. What better way to silence the genuine opposition than to call them extremists and therefore ban them to protect the German elite democracy from those pesky voters.

White House says Putin should 'stop interfering' after backing Harris

The White House called on Russian President Vladimir Putin to "stop interfering" in U.S. elections after he stated his support for Vice President Kamala Harris at the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok on September 5.

According to Meduza, Putin said, "Our favorite, so to speak, was Mr. Biden. He has withdrawn from the race, but he recommended supporting Ms. Harris. And we will do so. We will support her."

National Security Council spokesman John Kirby responded by saying Putin "shouldn't be favoring anybody one way or another."

Kirby added that the only people who should determine who the next president is are the American people, adding, "We would greatly appreciate it if Mr. Putin would...stop talking about our election, and...stop interfering in it."

Comment: Putin shouldn't prefer anyone? Says the country which just last month was interfering in at least one country's electoral process.

House Committee subpoenas Democrat VP candidate Tim Walz over Minnesota covid fraud scheme

The House Education and the Workforce Committee has issued a subpoena for Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz regarding a nonprofit in his state accused of defrauding the government during the COVID-19 scamdemic.

"The Minnesota-based Feeding Our Future (FOF) has been accused of misusing $250 million in taxpayer funds that were meant to go to hungry children," The Hill reports.

Comment: Oopsies?

The Black Sphere comments:
Almost like clockwork, people started speaking of buyer's remorse for Harris in selecting Walz. I wrote recently that Tim Walz is a horrible running mate. He is nothing like the Left present him to be.

Walz is a scam artist, and represents the bottom of the barrel. I called Walz a regret, as more leaks out about him. And it didn't take long for people to recognize what looked to me like a shark in a tuxedo: easy to spot.

I googled "walz regrets" and here's what came back.
google search walz regrets
Clearly, I wasn't the only one who wondered about this, though for possibly different reasons.

My rationale involved the Walz persona. I knew skeletons hid in his closet, and not just stolen valor. For all we know about Walz, I'm certain there is far worse we haven't learned.

Consider the position of Democrats.

They have a horrible candidate for president who was placed into position, similar to her former boss. And like Joe Biden, Harris has picked a sub-par running mate. Sadly for the Democrats, cheat me once shame on you, cheat me twice, shame on me.

Conservatives will not be cheated out of the next presidential election. And almost all the fears of the Left will emerge. Because if anybody knows to what levels Democrats will go to destroy a hard-working citizen, it's Donald Trump. His election will ultimately represent the Left's biggest regret. But for now, Walz must suffice.

The International Criminal Court judges have yet to issue arrest warrants for the Israeli prime minister and defense minister four months after prosecutor Karim Khan requested them

The chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) says world leaders pressured him not to apply for arrest warrants for the Israeli prime minister and defense minister on allegations of war crimes in Gaza, the BBC reported on 5 September.

Karim Khan told the BBC, "Several leaders and others told me and advised me and cautioned me," he said.

In May, Khan said there were reasonable grounds to believe that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant had committed war crimes during the Israeli assault on Gaza that has killed over 40,000 Palestinians, the majority women and children.

Trump hush money sentencing delayed until after November presidential election

Donald Trump's sentencing in his hush money criminal case was delayed until after the November election — with a Manhattan judge finding Friday the decision "best advances the interests of justice."

Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Juan Merchan's bombshell ruling pushing the Sept. 18 sentencing to Nov. 26 means voters won't know by Election Day the fate of the former president, who faces possible jail time in the case.

In a four-page decision, Merchan wrote he was delaying the sentencing in a bid to combat "unwarranted" claims that his decision on Trump's punishment could be based on politics rather than the law, so close to the election.

Comment: What a novelty for this guy. Actually basing a decision on law instead of politics? Would be a first for him in the trial.

Comment: Merchan was hand-picked by the DOJ to deliver Trump's head on a platter.

Merchan did manage to pin a "convicted felon" label on Trump, so coveted by the Democrats. It hasn't helped:

What will the sentencing bring?

Whistleblowers allege agents were given grossly inadequate training

Whistleblowers have told Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., that Secret Service personnel are "woefully unprepared" and given inadequate training to properly protect candidates - including former President Trump - in new claims regarding the assassination attempt against the Republican presidential nominee.

Hawley appeared on Jesse Watters Primetime Tuesday night to reveal whistleblowers' claims that when Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) agents were reassigned to work on the protective details, they were given a single two-hour webinar on Microsoft Teams.

The videos were pre-recorded, with whistleblowers allegedly saying that the videos were riddled with technical mishaps.

Israel rules Washington

Neti

If there is anyone out there who seriously doubts that it is Israel that is in the driver's seat when it comes to its relationship with the United States, last week's filing of criminal charges directed against Hamas's leadership should be a wake-up call.

The seven-count criminal complaint was filed in a federal court in New York City on September 2nd. It includes charges such as conspiracy to bomb a public space, conspiracy to provide material support to a foreign terrorist organization resulting in deaths, use of weapons of mass destruction, conspiring to and also murdering US nationals and conspiracy to finance terrorism. The document also claims that Iran and Lebanon's Hezbollah have been providing financial support, weapons, to include rockets, as well as military supplies to Hamas for use in their attacks on Israel. The document's legitimacy, though one hesitates to use the word, is based on the assumption that the US has a mandate to go after terrorists and their supporters, even to kill them, anywhere in the world when and if it considers it appropriate to do so.

Comment: AIPAC lobby is an Israeli monetary control mechanism buying political cooperation.

Has the US finally succeeded in choking off Russia's biggest trade lifeline?

machine thingy

With the threat of secondary sanctions being felt acutely by Chinese banks, Washington may be winning a single battle - but in an economic war being decisively lost.

The resilience of the Russian economy in the face of harsh Western sanctions sent those cheering the rise of multipolarity into victory laps. And it has been a huge embarrassment to the West. But Russia's burgeoning problem settling payments with China demonstrates that this resilience isn't without setbacks.

This past June, the US Treasury put the local banks of countries that trade with Russia in the crosshairs for secondary sanctions. The legal foundation for measures against companies or individuals found trading with sanctioned entities was originally implemented back in December, but it was in June that Washington expanded this framework and sent strong signals that this time it was serious. These threats were felt particularly acutely in China, Russia's largest trade partner.

What happened and when

It started with the big state-owned Chinese banks, which began shying away from dealing with Russia at the beginning of the year. But there were always smaller, regional banks, which were seen as less exposed to the Western financial system, which would take their place. For a while, it seemed these banks would carry the day. But now even these institutions have followed suit.
