ISIS enabler Netanyahu claims credit for overthrowing Assad

Netanyahu
Benjamin Netanyahu delivers a statement from the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights, December 8, 2024
The Israeli prime minister has hailed the jihadist takeover of Syria as a "historic day in the Middle East"

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has claimed that the fall of Bashar Assad's government in Syria is a "direct result" of Israel's military campaign against Hezbollah and Iran.

Anti-government forces, including Hayat Tahrir-al-Sham (HTS) jihadists and US-armed Free Syrian Army militants, stormed Damascus on Saturday, as the Syrian Army stood down and Assad - according to the Russian Foreign Ministry - left the country for an unknown destination. HTS leader Abu Mohammed al-Jolani, a former al-Qaeda commander, proclaimed victory in a televised statement on Sunday, declaring that "the future is ours."

In a visit to the Israel-Syria border on Sunday, Netanyahu hailed the radical Islamist takeover of Syria.

Comment: Since the fall of Syria, Israel has wasted no time in bombing the country to bits, destroying its military infrastructure while annexing another piece of the Golan heights. The project for Greater Israel is continuing. The question is for how long.

The Curtain has Dropped - Cynical Overtakes Sacred, as the West Bares its True Face

US moderate goons for regime change
One can hardly believe it anymore. The West has dropped all pretense of their sacred cow of 'democracy', used for generations as an instrument of moral superiority with which to browbeat the rest of the world.

Romanian candidate Calin Georgescu larruped his opponent in the first round of presidential elections, only for the entire result to be 'nullified' by a Romanian court, absurdly citing "Russian interference on TikTok" — with no real evidence. (See here for a deep dive on said 'evidence'.)

A few context-setting reactions:

On top of that, current Romanian president Klaus Iohannis — taking a page out of Zelensky's playbook — has declared he will illegally stay past his term's constitutional deadline to absolutely no outrage, calls to action, or even criticism from his Western partners:

Comment: The veil of sanity has dropped for the Western elite and the 'man behind the curtain' is seen as the evil self-serving leviathan demon which it is.

France is a perfect example of centrist elites wrecking the West

Political crises seem to be taking down Western nations one by one, their leaders clinging to hubris and showing a disdain for democracy

It is almost as if some EU capitals have a tenacious death wish. After Berlin's amazing and ongoing self-Morgenthauing act of industrial suicide for the greater glory of America's NATO and Zelensky's Ukraine, Paris is now self-Waterlooing. As France's newly-discharged prime minister Michel Barnier almost correctly noted, the "country is going through a profound crisis."

'Almost,' because it's not 'going through', but stuck in it.

Meanwhile, the man who set this train to nowhere in motion with a hissy fit of an early-election at the beginning of June, former investment-banker-turned-president Emmanuel Macron, won't quit, although he's politically bankrupt. He also keeps blaming everyone but himself, while promising to provide "stability."

The president's obstinacy would be funny if it weren't so tragic for France. As French newspaper Libération has put it, "how can you embody stability when you're the one who's produced the chaos?" But then, to be fair to the former Wunderkind of Centrism, for the West's "elites" and their offspring, too (Hi there, Crack Hunter, lawless son of Genocide Joe!), taking responsibility is just so passé. More importantly, Macron's personal if humungous failure as a politician and, worse, national leader is not the whole story.

Comment: France and the globalist West in general is in a civilisational crisis. The days of the 'rules based order' are numbered and thank goodness for that.

Why was Syrian conflict revived? Arab Spring virus did not reach Moscow, and Beijing

McCain
NATO's activation of Syrian militants to cause the recent flare-up starting on 27th November 2024 reflects failure in Ukraine, setting back the West's anti-Russian/Chinese scheme to 2011.

Destroying Arabs to reach the Russians and Chinese

A statement by the late American Senator, John McCain from 2011 Halifax International Security Forum showed that the US viewed countries affected by the Arab Spring as the periphery of Russia's and China's interests, by stating that the Arab Spring was a virus that would attack Moscow and Beijing. Therefore, the crises in the Middle East then constituted the US (and NATO) attacking Russia and China from the periphery, heading to the core. Noteworthy, Wesley Clark had revealed Washington's plan from 1991 to destroy all soviet allies before the next superpower arose. Noteworthy, Russia and China are geographically, technologically, and militarily placed to become superpowers.

Therefore, they must have been in Washington's crosshairs, making the Arab Spring a NATO's preemptive action to curtail the rise of Eurasian powers using rioters, militants, and terrorists as NATO's proxies. However, this plan has failed to materialize since. While Ukraine's EuroMaidan Coup of 2014 and the resulting Ukraine-Russia conflict constituted an ideological and even military march on Moscow, it only reached Donbas, before being beaten back after February 2022. To further link the Ukraine and Syrian wars, even the latter, which began in 2011, remained frozen from 2022, when NATO hoped to achieve some positive results by attacking Russia's core using Ukrainian proxy. However, Ukraine is on its back foot in all fronts and NATO's leeway for escalation is narrowing.

Using terrorism for geopolitical goals unacceptable - Russia

Lavrov
© Ilya Pitalev/SputnikRussian FM Sergey Lavrov
The use of terrorists to achieve geopolitical goals, as is currently happening with the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham group in Syria, is unacceptable, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has said.

Lavrov, after meeting with the Iranian and Turkish foreign ministers in Qatar on Sunday, stated:
"We are absolutely convinced of the inadmissibility of using terrorists like Hayat Tahrir al-Sham to achieve geopolitical goals, as it is now being done by orchestrating the offensive in the Idlib de-escalation zone."
The foreign ministers of Türkiye, Iran, and Russia met in Doha on Saturday to discuss the lightning rebel advance in Syria.

The militant group Hayat Tahrir-al-Sham (HTS), an offshoot of Jabhat al-Nusra, along with its allies, launched a surprise offensive against Syrian government forces last week, capturing large swaths of territory, including parts of Aleppo and the city of Hama. The Syrian military has redeployed forces to threatened regions, with the support of Russian warplanes.

Comment: Can't leave out Israel...must be something to be gained:
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on Sunday that it deployed troops to the buffer zone with Syria. The statement declared the move is to ensure the safety of Israel and the Golan Heights, which it has illegally occupied for decades.

In a statement released on Sunday, the IDF stressed:
"Israeli troops are not interfering in Syria's "internal events. The IDF will continue to operate as long as necessary in order to preserve the buffer zone and defend Israel and its civilians."
Israeli tanks have reportedly moved into the buffer zone near Quneitra, close to the Golan Heights, which have been under Israeli occupation since the 1967 Six-Day War. Reports by the Times of Israel indicate that artillery strikes were launched in the region, although the specific targets remain unclear. Local sources told RT that Israeli patrols entered the town of Khan Arnabah in Quneitra province, killing one man.

Israel has a history of conducting airstrikes in Syria, often targeting border crossings and urban areas. West Jerusalem claims this is done to disrupt Iranian military activities in the region.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei stated on Monday that the unfolding jihadist offensive in Syria was coordinated by the US and Israel. According to the diplomat, it is no coincidence that the terrorists attacked northern Syria right after Israel struck a ceasefire deal with Hezbollah.

The situation in Syria continues to evolve rapidly as jihadist groups, including Hayat Tahrir-al-Sham, assert control over key regions following their entry into Damascus on Saturday.

Syria is just the latest case of U.S. meddling and the timing could not be more suspicious.

The Biden administration has triggered another proxy war for Donald Trump to deal with when he becomes president next month. The U.S. deep state is fighting a proxy war in Syria, which appears to be waged with the intention of further destabilizing the Middle East and stirring up another front in World War III.

Syria is collapsing under the weight of another U.S.-sponsored proxy Civil War, with the US, Israel and Sunni jihadists on one side and Russia, Iran, Assad, and Shiite jihadists on the other.

Al Nusra (which is comprised of Al-Qaida and ISIS affiliates) is taking over the country with the help of Turkey, a U.S. ally and key member of the NATO military alliance. These rebels have seized the city of Aleppo and many smaller towns and villages.

M. Dowling at The Independent Sentinel notes that "Jake Sullivan has said Al-Qaida is on our side in Syria." Jake Sullivan is Biden's national security adviser and a key enabler, along with Secretary of State Antony Blinken, of the anti-Russia obsessed deep-state club that shares one thing in common. They all belong to the Trilateral Commission and the Council on Foreign Relations.

Not a joke

"Stare into the sun and begin to glimpse the size of what you're up against."
— Mike Benz
The Hunter Biden super-sized blanket pardon went over so well around the country that "Joe Biden" — or the shadowy league of not-quite-geniuses who run the twilight White House operation — floated the idea of issuing preemptive pardons for a few of the most spectacularly dishonest characters in US political life: Dr. Fauci, Senator-elect Adam Schiff, and Liz Cheney. Does "JB" plan on legally adopting them so he can claim he was moved to act out of a father's love?

Like every official act ever associated with the name "Joe Biden," the preemptive pardon idea has that reality-optional feel. None of the three has been convicted of a crime to be pardoned for, or even been hauled-in for questioning by federal law enforcement agents on a probable cause writ. But a pardon would necessarily paint them as criminals, ipso facto. Would they accept a pardon, with what it implies, or run shrieking from it as from an apple polished with novichok?

The proffer of a pardon itself must amount to a declaration of probable cause, igniting the very legal process it seeks to dispose of. An inquiry would have to be launched to discover what laws these three desperadoes might have broken, followed perhaps by a grand jury to evaluate the evidence, and so on. "Joe Biden" himself might have to answer some basic questions, such as: at what time prior to issuing the pardon did he begin to suspect some laws had been broken? And, since the president's chief duty is to enforce the law, was "JB" negligent and culpable himself for misprision of felonies?

Comment: 'This too will pass'...not soon and not enough pardons to go around.

Best of the Web: Damascus falls: Assad has reportedly left the capital

Bashar al-Assad family
President of Syria, Bashar al-Assad, an his family
Update(2200ET): Damascus has fallen. Unverified reports say President Assad and top officials have fled to Dubai or elsewhere but the situation overnight is fluid and anything but clear in terms of the location of top leadership. They may be in Latakia on the coast, or headed there. What is clear, however, is that the jihadists have entered the heart of the capital.

This brings to an end the last secular and Baathist state in the Middle East, and 50+ years of Assad family rule. Journalist Danny Makki, who is currently in Damascus, observes:
Literally Syrian military/security around Damascus just fled, ran away, changed into civilian clothes escaped, there was no battle for Damascus, it was abandoned and by tomorrow it will be all under opposition control.

Belarus military chief: Deployment of Russia's Oreshnik missile system is response to US moves

The decision to deploy Russia's new Oreshnik hypersonic missiles in Belarus is a direct response to US plans to station medium-range missiles in Germany, Minsk's Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces Sergey Lagodyuk told BelTA news agency on Saturday.

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko signed a security treaty on Friday, allowing both countries to use all forces and means at their disposal. After the meeting, Putin said that Oreshnik missile systems could be stationed in Belarus as early as the second half of next year, depending on how soon they enter regular service with Russia's strategic forces.

"The decision to deploy Oreshnik missile systems in the territory of the Republic of Belarus has been made in response to the steps being taken by the United States and Germany to deploy medium-range missiles in Europe," Lagodyuk said.

Moscow is working with Ankara and Tehran to stabilize the situation, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has said.

Russia has reports that the US and the UK might be implicated in supporting the al-Qaeda-affiliated militants currently on the offensive in Syria, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has said.

Hayat Tahrir-al-Sham (HTS) terrorist group, previously known as Jabhat al-Nusra, launched a surprise attack from Idlib last week and has since taken Aleppo and Hama. US journalist Tucker Carlson asked Lavrov who was supporting the terrorists in Syria, during the interview that aired on Thursday.
"Well, we have some information," Lavrov said. "The information which is being floated and it's in the public domain, mentions, among others, the Americans, the Brits. Some people say that Israel is interested in making this situation aggravated so that Gaza is not under very close scrutiny."

"It's a complicated game. Many actors are involved," the Russian diplomat added.
