Flashback Best of the Web: 20 establishment figures 'in elite paedophile ring' abused children for decades while actions were covered up

Judges, peers and MPs are among 20 prominent public figures who abused children for decades, a former child protection manager has said.

Peter McKelvie, who worked on the conviction of paedophile Peter Righton, said there was a "powerful elite" of paedophiles who carried out "the worst form" of abuse.

There is evidence linking the former politicians to an alleged paedophile network, he said.

Lord Warner, the former health minister, said the allegations were credible.

Mr McKelvie triggered a police investigation in 2012 when he revealed there were seven boxes of potential evidence of a powerful paedophile network, including letters between Righton and other paedophiles, being stored by West Mercia Police.

Flashback Best of the Web: Rotherham rape scandal: UK gov't covers up rape of hundreds of girls

criminals images
She was a fifteen-year-old English girl whose life had been turned into a living hell by a group of criminals. Her home was being attacked, her family members were being physically assaulted and kidnapped, and on top of all she had been repeatedly raped at the hands of a grooming gang.

In a sane world the police and justice system would have come to her help and punished those responsible for her and her family's suffering, but that is not what happened. The British police had a higher priority than saving girls like her from rape. their main priority at the time was preserving the state's ideals of "diversity" and "inclusion", so when they learned that the men responsible for her situation were foreign immigrants, her case was quickly swept under the rug, and her suffering was allowed to continue. This was a fate she shared with hundreds of other young British girls, some as young as 11, in the city of Rotherham, a community of about a hundred thousand people.

For many years these defenseless girls were made victims of the city's vicious grooming gangs, and were subjected to rape, prostitution, and drug trafficking. But the way the British law enforcement dealt with these grooming gangs was just as appalling, for it is now known that for many years the police deliberately allowed the activities of these gangs to continue purely for ideological concerns.

Comment: This is heartbreaking. The universe relies on balance, and such deep injustice and evil will eventually force reality to collapse and then to transform. When the truth is silenced, and evil thrives, the weight of suffering will demand change.

Humanity can make these changes, or the universe will make them for us. The balance must be established either way. Let's bring the comets and start all over. Maybe some better people will create a better world. This is insane.

Israel's 'collateral' killing of civilians is finally in the spotlight

The New York Times' recent "bombshell" presents facts that have been known for a long time - and does its best to sanitize them

The New York Times recently published a piece admitting that an unprecedented amount of "collateral damage" has been permitted by the Israeli military. However, in order to sanitize the revelations it claims to be uncovering, it omits key statistics that were previously revealed.

Presented as a bombshell piece, the December 26 article reveals that Israel had sent through an order that permitted killing up to 20 civilians for each low-level Hamas target. "The order, which has not previously been reported, had no precedent in Israeli military history," the article reads.

Comment: Then there is the diabolically named AI program called 'Where's Daddy'. Israel is a sick, sick society.

The Hamas 'human shields' lie has been conclusively, irrefutably debunked
:
If you missed this story, a major report from +972 revealed that Israel has been using an AI system called Lavender to compile kill lists of suspected members of Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad which have been carried out with hardly any human verification. One automated system, psychopathically named "Where's Daddy?", tracks suspects to their homes so that they can be killed along with their entire families. The IDF has been knowingly killing 15 to 20 civilians at a time to kill one junior Hamas operative, and up to 100 civilians at a time to take out a senior official.

+972's Yuval Abraham writes the following:
"Moreover, the Israeli army systematically attacked the targeted individuals while they were in their homes — usually at night while their whole families were present — rather than during the course of military activity. According to the sources, this was because, from what they regarded as an intelligence standpoint, it was easier to locate the individuals in their private houses. Additional automated systems, including one called 'Where's Daddy?' also revealed here for the first time, were used specifically to track the targeted individuals and carry out bombings when they had entered their family's residences."

Leaked files show secret UK Syria project boosted Jolani's HTS

In the name of building a "moderate opposition," London established a social service and media network in areas controlled by HTS, benefitting the group it branded as a dangerous Al Qaeda affiliate.

Leaked British intelligence files reviewed by The Grayzone raise grave questions about whether London has aided the rise of Hayʼat Tahrir al-Sham, the Islamist group which was proscribed by Western governments until it seized power in Syria this December.

Prime Minister Keir Starmer has stated it is "too early" to remove HTS from Britain's list of proscribed terrorist organizations. When the group was added in 2017, its entry stated it should be considered among "alternative names" for Al Qaeda. It was therefore illegal for British government officials to meet with HTS representatives while its status endured.

However, on December 16, British diplomats including Ann Snow, London's special representative for Syria, convened a summit with Jolani and other HTS leaders in Damascus.

Vladimir Zelensky's government in Ukraine must answer for the corruption and theft of Western aid, according to an opinion piece published in The Hill on Tuesday. The publication comes on the heels of US President Joe Biden's latest disbursement of aid to Kiev, totaling $2.5 billion.

The article written by James Durso, a retired Navy officer, blasted both the US and NATO for sparking the Ukraine conflict in the first place and enabling the massive theft.
"The American shame is that the US heedlessly expanded NATO to the borders of Russia, and then, after Russia pushed back, enabled and funded the cynical maladministration by the Zelensky government, which will go down in history as one of the greatest examples of waste and theft of Western aid."
The "sheer scale of waste and fraud" will only be revealed by independent investigations after the conflict ends, predicts the article. Officials in Kiev have worked to silence media stories about corruption allegations, it added.

Comment: It is curious how Biden has been overly demanding to 'disburse' US billions to 'Ukraine' multiple times, despite opposition, a tanking economy and a proven waste of money. It's as if there was 'something tangible in it' for himself!

The bear marches westwards: How Russia's gains reshaped the Ukraine conflict in 2024

Fierce fighting in Donbass and surrounding regions in 2024 has likely determined the outcome.

The Russia-Ukraine war has taken many surprising turns. In 2022, few could have foreseen the fierce resistance Kiev would mount. By the end of that year, public sentiment had swung dramatically, portraying Russian soldiers as incompetent and ill-equipped to handle the realities of modern warfare. The prevailing Western assumption was that the Ukrainian army, bolstered by NATO training and support, would achieve decisive victories.

That illusion began to unravel in 2023, when Kiev's much-hyped counteroffensive in the Zaporozhye region faltered. By year's end, Russian forces had launched their own offensive, which continues to this day.

What was 2024 like in this ongoing conflict? Let's reflect on the past 12 months on the front lines.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has called his Azerbaijani counterpart, Ilham Aliyev, to express condolences for the deadly plane crash that occured in Kazakhstan this week, the Kremlin said on Saturday.

Putin offered an apology for the fact that an incident "took place in Russian airspace," adding that it occurred during a Ukrainian drone raid, which was being repelled by air defenses.

"The Azerbaijani passenger plane, which arrived on schedule, made repeated attempts to land at the airport in Grozny," the statement said. The capital of Russia's Chechen Republic, as well as other cities in the region, "were being attacked by Ukrainian combat drones at the time, and Russian air defences were repelling those attacks."

A Trump-Putin deal over Ukraine does not look good for Europe

"Stop pushing Zelensky into peace talks", tells EU Foreign Affairs chief to European leaders. For the EU, a negotiated peace deal is a win for Putin and a defeat for Europe. Understand the reasons.

Europe has invested too much to settle for 'just' a peace deal: the goal was to crush Russia

The total amount of military aid to Ukraine since the beginning of the conflict in February 2022 amounts to $119 billion, including $62 billion from the U.S., as confirmed by Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin. The amount allocated under the humanitarian label is more than double.

Europe has channelled significant resources into Ukraine, from financial aid packages, to military equipment, and training programmes. Great Britain, along with the U.S., has been crucial in intelligence support too. Beyond this, Europe has also invested heavily in influencing public opinion with narratives such as "Putin will invade Europe next." The scale of these war-supporting efforts has been so extensive that many European countries have depleted both their arms stockpiles and public finances.

The Deep State's triumph: 2024 and the erosion of liberty

Uprising

"Everyday the future looks a little bit darker." ― Alan Moore, Watchmen
We have become a nation adrift in a sea of government overreach, abuse and corruption.

The following is a sobering account of the challenges we faced in 2024, which were marked by the government's never-ending power grabs and relentless assaults on our civil liberties.

2024 saw a continued rise in government overreach and abuse of power. The militarization of police forces continued unabated, with local departments increasingly resembling extensions of the military. Schools, meant to be places of learning and growth, became more prison-like with the implementation of "safety" measures that criminalize minor infractions and create an environment of fear. The right to private property was further eroded, with the government increasingly empowered to seize assets under various pretexts. The plight of the homeless worsened, with cities criminalizing homelessness and implementing policies designed to make their lives even more difficult. Military veterans, once hailed as heroes, were increasingly treated with suspicion and subjected to surveillance.

On almost every front this year, the government overreached and abused its powers.
