UK minister breaks ranks with govt on Russian G7 return

Moscow could rejoin the Western-dominated group as part of a Ukraine conflict settlement, Dan Jarvis has suggested.

UK Security Minister Dan Jarvis has contradicted his government's stance on keeping Russia out of G7, suggesting that its readmission could be discussed in post-conflict talks over Ukraine. Downing Street swiftly rejected the idea, insisting Moscow could not rejoin unless it made major territorial concessions to Kiev.

In an interview with Times Radio on Monday, Jarvis said Russia's potential reinstatement in the Western-dominated group would be "a matter to be discussed with international allies" once the hostilities between Moscow and Kiev have ceased.

He added that UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer would be engaging in discussions with world leaders later this week, describing the UK's approach as a "stick-and-carrot" strategy to push Russia toward ending the conflict.

Jarvis' comments sparked immediate pushback from Downing Street, which reaffirmed that the UK would not accept Russia's return while it controls territory claimed by Ukraine.

Comment: The G7 made itself irrelevant. BRICS has inspired transition to half the world.

Yes children, it was Ukraine who started the war

zelensky trump first term

Donald Trump has been flayed alive by Western media and leaders for saying Ukraine started the war. Here are facts, not myth.

The outcry spread quickly across the Western world: Donald Trump dared say Ukraine started the war.

The New York Times accused Trump of "rewriting the history of Russia's invasion of its neighbor." The paper's White House correspondent wrote:
"When Russian forces crashed over the borders into Ukraine in 2022 determined to wipe it off the map as an independent state, the United States rushed to aid the beleaguered nation and cast its president, Volodymyr Zelensky, as a hero of resistance.

Three years almost to the day later, President Trump is rewriting the history of Russia's invasion of its smaller neighbor. Ukraine, in this version, is not a victim but a villain. And Mr. Zelensky is not a latter-day Winston Churchill, but a 'dictator without elections' who somehow started the war himself and conned America into helping."

Hold the applause for Trump, the 'Peacemaker'

Trump
© Off-Guardian
There is history worth remembering as Trump is lauded in certain circles on the so-called "right" and "left" as a peacemaker with Russia over the US/NATO proxy war against Russia via Ukraine: President Richard Nixon, who ran as the peace candidate in 1968 with a "secret plan" for peace in Vietnam that was actually a plan for more war, visited China in February 1972 in a move to exploit the Soviet-China split, and yet the US war against Vietnam went on until April 30, 1975 when the U.S. was driven out of Vietnam.

I think extreme caution is advised when it comes to Trump's plans to end the U.S. proxy war against Russia, which, following the Nixon-Kissinger script, seems to be aimed at splitting the Russian-Chinese partnership now threatening U.S. world domination.

Trump, like his predecessor Joseph Biden who presided over the proxy war against Russia and the genocide of Palestinians by Israel, is no man of peace. He is fully in support of the extinction of the Palestinians and behind Israel's war aims in the Middle-East. So when it comes to his recent overtures to Russia and a resolution to the U.S./NATO proxy war against Russia, one needs to reflect on history and Trump's inclination to make "a deal." The man, after all, was a reality-television star and has long reveled in radical reversals of previous statements and intentions. For example, in his first term, he often talked of withdrawing from NATO but never did; NATO, in fact, expanded under his watch. He talked about ending the U.S./NATO support for Ukraine's bombing of Russian-speaking areas of eastern Ukraine, only to withdraw from the Minsk Accords and send military equipment to Ukraine to bomb those areas.

Those who are praising him now say he is a changed man after time "in the wilderness" these last four years (one is reminded of Nixon's wandering wilderness days from 1960-1968). Would a changed man have Elon Musk as his right-hand man or have as Vice President JD Vance whose career has been backed by Palantir Technology's Peter Thiel?

Investigator journalist Whitney Webb has reported extensively on Thiel and Vance's ties and the interconnections between them and other supporters of the surveillance state tied to the Democrats, such as former Google CEO Eric Schmidt, among others. If you assume the surface war between Trump and the Democrats is the real deal, Webb's work will have you wondering. They have their differences, of course, but a reading of history would suggest both fully back the surveillance panopticon that has stolen American's freedom and privacy in the name of what else - freedom and privacy

With Islamic State in Power the EU Lifts Syria Sanctions After They Starved, Strangled The Population For Years

Syria old versus new
The inclusiveness of the new rulers can be seen in the inclusiveness of those with headgear and beards. Women, not so much.
Monday was a huge day for the Syrian population, given the European Union has suspended with immediate effect many of the sanctions the bloc long ago imposed on Syria, particularly related to the areas of banking, energy, transport, and reconstruction.

"This decision is part of the EU's efforts to support an inclusive political transition in Syria, and its swift economic recovery, reconstruction, and stabilization," a statement issued by the Council of European Union said. As for how 'inclusive' the new HTS regime under Jolani is, we'll let the photos speak for themselves...

But the fact remains that millions of Syrians felt the devastating impact of sanctions most heavily. The West used the sanctions to try and squeeze the Bashar al-Assad government out of power. He fled Syria on December 8 as Turkish-backed jihadists made their way south from Idlib.

For years, and currently, Syrians spend most of their week without electricity, or adequate fuel for heat or cars. The currency collapsed but is barely starting to recover. The common populace has been suffering severely for well over a decade.

The EU has lifted asset freezes for five banks as well as eased restrictions on the central bank, which may allow the Syrian Lira (pound) to improve further.

Comment: Like with Libya, after the Western regime changers had had their way, Syria is left in abysmal conditions akin to a failed state.

France proves JD Vance right, shuts down right-wing TV channel

The French Council of State has just confirmed its closure of the right-wing TV channel C8, setting a dangerous precedent of state censorship in the media. Protests are growing from public figures who are concerned about the increasing and institutionalised restrictions on freedom of expression.

The C8 channel, owned by the Catholic billionaire Vincent Bolloré, had been on probation for several weeks following a decision by the media regulatory authority, ARCOM, to withdraw its broadcasting licence. The channel had attempted an administrative appeal, which has now been rejected by the Council of State. It will cease broadcasting definitively on the evening of February 28th.

Until now, C8 occupied a privileged place in the French audiovisual landscape. The Canal+ group, owned by Vincent Bolloré and operator of the channel, denounced a decision unprecedented in the history of DTT [Digital Terrestrial Television], leading to the outright ousting of the C8 channel, which has been part of the audiovisual landscape for nearly 20 years, always ranking as the leading DTT channel and attracting more than 9 million cumulative viewers every day.

Only thing that can spark war in Europe: WikiLeaks reports on US approach to Ukraine and NATO

Ukrainian military post
Washington had long been warned about the risks associated with Kiev's NATO bid but reportedly decided to push forward

Washington and its European allies have long been fully aware that their policy of encouraging Kiev's NATO ambitions could lead to dire consequences, WikiLeaks has said in a video report, citing a trove of diplomatic cables it had obtained.

Moscow has explicitly warned American diplomats about risks of violent strife in Ukraine and instability for the whole region linked to Kiev's ever deeper integration into the US-led bloc years before the Ukraine conflict broke out, the sources cited by WikiLeaks suggest. Paris has also warned Washington that such a policy could lead to war, while Berlin outright opposed the idea in the 2000s, according to the documents.

The report was provided by Magnus von Wangenheim, a German medic, who had spent "years dealing with WikiLeaks' publications and the treatment of its founder Julian Assange," according to AcTVism, a German NGO which he produces video reports for.

Comment: The US and the European countries knew all along that enlarging NATO any further, would lead to a conflict, yet now they have complete amnesia of such knowledge. Similarly, they knew that Ukraine had a severe problem with Nazism and corruption yet since the open outbreak of war, they all play completely ignorant to these facts.

"The job of the president, goes the message from all the insiders, is to PRETEND to be in charge but not actually do anything meaningful."
— Jeffrey Tucker
CBS's 60-Minutes show was at it again Sunday night in the most prime primetime weekend news slot on the old broadcast spectrum — Sunday at 7:00, the power-hour of national mind-fuckery — with blob PR-agent Scott Pelley singing the blues over the systematic disassembly of the rogue bureaucracy. Trouble is, fewer and fewer minds are susceptible to the argument that the blob exists to "save our democracy."

You're supposed to go boo-hoo because the Department of Justice is under new management. Now get this: since 2015 the Department of Justice and its step-child, the FBI, have devoted their vast and savage powers to manifold acts of sedition, treason, malicious political prosecution, obstruction of justice, suborning perjuries, and countless other abuses of law in an ever-widening gyre of ass-covering operations as year-by-year their crimes multiplied.

RussiaGate was initially a cover-up op for the Clintons' many acts of mischief and moneygrubbing when Hillary ran for President, just as the Mueller Special Counsel Investigation was a cover-up for the crimes committed by the DOJ and FBI after Hillary lost to Mr. Trump, just as Impeachment #1 was a cover-up for the Ukraine money laundry and its role in RussiaGate, and Impeachment #2 was a coverup for the 2020 election ballot hijinks that got rid of Mr. Trump, and just as the Mar-a-Lago raid was a cover-up to retrieve evidence of all-the-above that Mr. Trump had archived, and just as the flurry of Trump prosecutions in 2024 was the final (and amazingly inept) effort to put the Golden Golem of Greatness out-of-business forever.

Trump admin launches probe into 'extremely lax' HHS vetting for migrant kids

Thousands of children were left vulnerable to sex trafficking and exploitation

The Department of Health and Human Services is launching an investigation into thousands of cases of unaccompanied migrant children who may have ended up in the hands of sexual predators and human traffickers because of lax vetting policies under the Biden administration.

An internal memo viewed by The Post details how the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) ignored obvious safety risks and prioritized quickly releasing the youths under the Unaccompanied Children Program (UAC), creating a situation that made vulnerable kids easy targets.

The report details egregious cases where migrant sponsors provided images that were obviously fake or doctored in their applications to obtain custody of children — and were seldom challenged by government staff tasked with protecting kids.

"Utter despair': Libs meltdown in panic over 'politicized' FBI after Bongino appointment

Dan Bongino

Update (1120ET): Sunday night's panic within the FBI has quickly morphed into "utter despair" among liberals, "who had already grown fearful of a highly politicized FBI," according to (formerly USAID-funded) Politico, which is rich considering that the FBI under Biden spent four years as a "highly politicized" weapon to go after conservatives.

Rolling Stone (of pedo coverup fame), framed Bongino's appointment with the "bad cops" tag, which is followed by an unhinged screed.
