Russian security chief: 'Radioactive cloud' threatening western Europe over West's use of depleted uranium shells in Ukraine

The destruction of depleted uranium shells in Ukraine has produced a radioactive cloud which has been blown toward Western Europe, the secretary of the Russian Security Council, Nikolay Patrushev, has claimed. The UK has supplied this type of munition to Ukraine to be fired from British-made Challenger tanks.

The senior official revealed the purported threat during a government meeting on Friday, in which he accused the US of manipulating its allies to provide "help" to other nations that results in harm being done to the recipients.

"They 'helped' Ukraine this way too, applied pressure to its satellites to supply depleted uranium munitions. Their destruction resulted in a radioactive cloud moving towards Western Europe. They have detected an increase in radiation in Poland," Patrushev stated.

Ukraine could suffer heavy losses during its much-anticipated counteroffensive against Russia, Vadim Pristaiko, Kiev's ambassador to the UK, warned on Thursday.

In an interview with British broadcaster ITV, the diplomat said: "I know that it can be a very terrible summer and the price is terrible."

Pristaiko also said Kiev's Western backers have piled "too much pressure" on Kiev and have built up "too much expectations" about the spring campaign.

When asked to comment on why Ukraine maintains its position on not revealing its losses in the conflict, Pristaiko replied: "internally, we understand how many of us are already killed and lost."

Chinese FM cautions against Ukraine joining NATO after Kissinger comments

China has urged against Ukraine joining NATO, saying it would not improve security in the European region, after veteran US diplomat Henry Kissinger claimed membership would serve the interests of both Kiev and Moscow.

Asked about Kissinger's comments during a Thursday press briefing, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin argued that Ukrainian NATO membership would only further inflame tensions.

"Ukraine should not become the frontier in a major power confrontation," he said, adding that "to strengthen or even expand military groups is not a viable way to ensure the security of a region. One country's security should not be achieved at the expense of the security of other countries."

In an interview with the Economist published on Wednesday, Kissinger said European powers were pursuing a "madly dangerous" strategy by keeping Kiev out of the US-led military bloc, insisting Ukraine must not "become a solitary state just looking out for itself." He claimed NATO membership would not only benefit Ukraine, but Russia as well.

US fails to break Russia-India ties - leaked Pentagon documents

A cache of classified US documents leaked online last month has shed light on American intelligence gathered about other countries.

Images of the covert files initially appeared on the messaging app Discord in January, but went unnoticed until March. Discord later put out an official statement condemning the leak.

The documents consist of an elaborate timeline, dozens of military acronyms, including some items marked "top secret," which give a detailed picture of the conflict in Ukraine, raging since February 24, 2022.

"Top secret" is the highest level of classification. Some documents also contain the marking NOFORN, or "Not Releasable to Foreign Nationals," meaning they cannot be shared with foreign intelligence agencies, including the Five Eyes alliance - the US, Canada, UK, Australia and New Zealand - according to the New York Times.

Consider the documents' take on India, which has been keeping its distance regarding the Ukraine conflict, and refusing to condemn its traditional ally Russia's actions on global forums, including the United Nations (UN).

Judge delivers ruling on Trump deposition in Peter Strzok, Lisa Page lawsuits

Special Counsel John Durham released the findings of the years-long investigation into former President Donald Trump and alleged Russian collusion on Monday.

Around the same time the final report was made available to the public, an Obama-appointed judge delivered a crucial ruling in a case involving former FBI agents Peter Strzok and Lisa Page. In 2017, it was discovered that Strzok and Page carried on an extramarital affair and worked on high-profile cases together, such as Hillary Clinton's unauthorized private email server and the investigation into alleged Trump-Russia collusion.

Strzok and Page exchanged thousands of messages via their FBI-provided mobile phones, some of which "expressed political opinions about candidates and issues involved in the 2016 presidential election, including statements of hostility" toward Donald Trump "and statements of support for" for Hillary Clinton, as the Justice Department's inspector general wrote.

Now, the former FBI lovebirds are back in the spotlight.

The U.S. Department of Justice recently secured a court order to block former President Donald Trump from a deposition appearance in connection with lawsuits filed by Strzok and Page. The order from U.S. District Judge Amy Berman Jackson reads:
"The deposition of former President Donald Trump is hereby stayed until the deposition of [F.B.I. Director] Christopher Wray and any ensuing motion practice as to the remaining necessity of the former president's deposition have been completed."

House Republican submits resolution to expel 'liar' Adam Schiff from Congress

After Rep. Adam Schiff relentlessly peddled the Russiagate hoax and claimed without proof that there was "more than circumstantial evidence" that Donald Trump colluded with Russia in 2016, Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) has introduced a House resolution to expel Schiff from Congress after the Durham report concluded that there was no collusion.

"Knowingly using your position on House Intel to push a lie that ripped apart our country, cost taxpayers millions of dollars, and authorized spying on a US President and then proceeding to double down on the lie within days of the Durham report coming out makes you unfit for office," wrote Luna in a late Wednesday tweet, adding "Ethics should investigate."

Following the Durham report, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy raised the question of whether Schiff "should even be in Congress."

At least 5 whistleblowers come forward against Biden family

At least five whistleblowers have come forward to allege wrongdoing by the Biden family in connection with business schemes and corresponding coverups.

The whistleblowers are in addition to the multitude of witnesses that Republican members of Congress have interviewed behind closed doors.

The whistleblowers range from an IRS agent to an Obama administration stenographer, encompassing alleged corruption in Ukraine and Mexico, along with the FBI and DOJ.

1) Chuck Grassley: Whistleblowers Say FBI Has Evidence Joe Biden Involved in Family Business Schemes

Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA), who testified before the House's new Select Subcommittee on Political Weaponization in 2023, said whistleblower disclosures indicate the FBI has evidence that Joe Biden is aware of the family business schemes, a statement that directly contradicts the president.

Grassley said the whistleblower disclosures "make clear the FBI has within its possession very significant, impactful, and voluminous evidence with respect to potential criminal conduct by Hunter and James Biden."

It is unclear why the FBI has not acted on the alleged evidence.

The FBI is in possession of Hunter Biden's infamous "Laptop from Hell," which has caused many to dub the Biden family the "Biden Crime Family."

Comment: How many whistleblowers will it take for justice to kick in? Infinite.

Reaction: Ecuador's Lasso dissolves congress

National Assembly • May 16, 2023 in Quito.
President Lasso invoked a never-before-used mechanism as his impeachment trial progressed...

Facing an impeachment vote, on May 17 Ecuadorian President Guillermo Lasso took the unprecedented move to call for a muerte cruzada, an option some have translated as "mutually assured destruction." With this constitutional mechanism, Lasso dissolved Congress and can rule by decree until presidential and legislative elections are held within the next six months. Lasso cited a grave political crisis and social upheaval as reasons for invoking the measure. On May 16 he had testified in an impeachment trial related to embezzlement accusations, which he has denied.

Lasso's decision to pull the trigger on muerte cruzada shows he had no options left. This was his only path to political survival. When Lasso took the stage in Congress yesterday — or a short time afterwards — he must have realized he did not have the votes to survive his impeachment trial. Lasso said in his speech yesterday, and again today, that he is closing Congress to safeguard Ecuador's democracy and political stability, not save his own government. That's dubious.

Venezuela pledges to abandon US dollar

Venezuela is planning to shift away from the greenback in cross-border transactions, President Nicolas Maduro said earlier this week, claiming that the measure would help the Bolivarian Republic to free its economy.

It's the latest country to publicly share plans to reduce its reliance on the US dollar. Similar measures have recently been announced by Argentina, Brazil and Iraq. Meanwhile, the BRICS group of nations are considering the introduction of a new reserve currency to replace the dollar.

Maduro, in an interview with local media, said:
"This is the path of Venezuela and the path of a free economy where currencies are not used to punish countries and impose sanctions."
Venezuela is ranked among the world's five most-sanctioned nations. The South American country has suffered one of the largest economic contractions in history.

Supreme Court 'transparency' charity director panics over IRS donor leak: 'I just f***ed up'

judge gavel
An advocacy nonprofit group behind a campaign demanding Supreme Court "transparency" reforms on financial disclosures is in panic mode over accidentally leaking its own funders to the Washington Examiner.

Fix the Court, a charity that spun off in 2021 after being a project of the New Venture Fund, a nonprofit group managed by the liberal dark money behemoth and for-profit company Arabella Advisors, is part of a seemingly coordinated campaign calling for Supreme Court justices to disclose more about their finances. Now, the organization is in disarray after unwittingly providing the Washington Examiner with unredacted copies of its own donors in 2021 and 2022.

"As you can see if you've reviewed the forms, I'm not a good fundraiser," Gabe Roth, executive director of Fix the Court and a former vice president at the Democratic consulting firm SKDK, told the Washington Examiner on Wednesday. "I'm not a good CPA. I'm a klutz. Schedule B is not something that is sent out, right? It's not made public. Like, if you're donating to a 501(c)(3), the IRS gets to see who donates to you, but the general public doesn't."
