All of these absolute wrongs are fundamentally religious and come from the wisdom of the ages.I prefer to call it spirituality, and the belief in (knowledge of) something bigger than mere biological existance, and a conscience (soul) transcending the biological machine.

codis The problem with the word 'spirituality' is that is relative truth. One does not have to commit with spirituality, it means everything to everyone. With religions like Christianity, there is a commitment to absolute truths. Eg One should not have sex (lie with) with ones daughter. We all love being vague because we can slip out of the commitment.
But I am certainly not having a go at you, just saying something that for most people is very difficult. Absolute truth IS difficult. But without it there is no framework, no axioms, no solidity, no honesty, no decisions made, no truth. No right or wrong, no concience. No solid ground to walk on.

Simply three things:
1. Do not lie.
2. Do not steal.
3. Do not kill.

While the above are absolutely not truthfully practiced - they ought be considered rules of merit. Beyond those simple principles - what more rules are needed?

As for spirituality - you either sense stronger powers and forces of power most strong - and doesn't mean you bow down to them, but does mean there are principles foundational for the sake of mutual survival - and the absence of recognition of that black and white cold hard reality about what is "proper" and what is "wrong" - then that spells the end of humanity I reckon if we can't agree on those basic principles foundational to survival mutually - for Christ's sake - and the sake of all folks all People who desire a better future.

So really - genocide breaks all the rules, rape breaks them as well, and racism - well that is blurry in distinction. But in genocide, innocence is killed, their lives are stolen, and if they "lie" about it - that is a trifecta against the most basic concepts of what it means to be a human living with other humans - and it is more than "unacceptable" - it offends the Gods - so no mercy is due upon those commit genocide - none is deserved - cause life can be harsh no doubt and justice demands Retribution. Retribution is about accountability - cause without accountability we all are destined to extinction.

If you need a 'God' to tell you what is right and what is wrong that means that you have failed already!

So - "do not kill" means just that absolutely.
If there are circumstances contextually, they don't deter the absoluteness of the simple "rule" - do not kill.
There is no fuzziness - no greyness about this absolute RULE - do not kill.

If somebody attacks you and you defend - you are not KILLING them - you are defending.
If you run over somebody on the road not meaning to do this - you didn't mean to kill them - that is manslaughter - you likely are still guilty of a lesser crime - but if there was no foreshadowing intent then accidents happen - but you likely are still guilty if you ought have known better.
If you willfully deny food and aid leading to starving children intentionally - well then you are intentionally killing them - and that is black & white wrong, criminal, and evident - offensive to all sense of justice - let there be no confusion upon it - open your eyes and don't participate in it - don't support it - refute it - call it out.

If you are going down the river on a boat an you all as a group get caught in the rapids and most on the boat perish - then that is not the same as willfully choosing to starve children who need sustenance to grow - so let there be no confusion on this - it is ABSOLUTELY wrong to kill willfully innocence - the punishment for that - tis the loss of your soul individually and collectively as the case may be. And those sit and abide it with apathy - they are complicit and their souls lost as well if they ought have known better - simple really when the rules are simple to understand amongst you family, neighbors, friends, and associates. Absolute truths are true. But the context in which you speak about them can change. It doesn't change the fact that absolute truths are by definition absolute.
To get into the debate about God is a complete waste of time. Public policy in times of Christian faith and education was based upon absolute truths. That is the whole point of my statement above. When Christianity - or religions that preach we should care for each other -is junked then so is their public policy. I have to go, but it amazes that most people can't see that we are not progressing but sinking into the swamp because there is this belief that everything new and American is better than all the wisdom of of our forefathers and mothers.
