That must be a record, right?
After his bizarre inaugural behind fences and 20,000 military troops, Biden hobbled to the Oval Officer were he signed several executive orders including the end of construction of the Keystone XL Pipeline and the end of construction of the Trump border wall.
Canceling the Keystone Pipeline costs over 11,000 construction jobs and 42,100 jobs throughout the US during the construction process according to the US State Department.
Canceling the Trump border wall will cost 10,000 jobs.
That's a total of 52,100 jobs lost in his first 8 hours in office.
Nice work, Joe!
With the stroke of a pen, Biden has put 11,000 jobs and over $1.6 billion in wages on the chopping block. The kicker, the pipeline's developer has pledged that the project would have zero carbon emissions.
Indeed, union leaders are already calling out Biden for the loss of good-paying union jobs... Mark McManus, General President of the United Association of Union Plumbers and Pipefitters :
"In revoking this permit, the Biden Administration has chosen to listen to the voices of fringe activists instead of union members and the American consumer on Day 1.Joe Biden also ceased construction of the Trump border wall. This is on his first day and at the same time that more illegal alien caravans are seen working their way to the US. Conservative estimates suggest the border wall created over 10,000 jobs.
"Let me be very clear: When built with union labor by the men and women of the United Association, pipelines like Keystone XL remain the safest and most efficient modes of energy transportation in the world. Sadly, the Biden Administration has now put thousands of union workers out of work. For the average American family, it means energy costs will go up and communities will no longer see the local investments that come with pipeline construction."

Hope your new year is going better than as well as can be expected.

I wanted Obama, then Trump to nix keystone. Time for big oil to ween off the federal tit.
Maybe someone can push hyperloop. Seems like that would bring back jobs for 42,000 pipeline workers and then some.

But, the number one way to deal with people coming and overstaying their visas (the primary way people end up here illegally), is to go after the employers who turn a blind eye when they know damn well they're undocumented. In fast food, that means goodbye to companies like KFC who rely on underpaying undocumented workers and never giving them raises, and simply threatening to report them to ICE if they complain.
You take away the job supply if you don't want them to come here. Then fix the fucking labor and tax laws to disincentivize off-shoring of skilled labor.

Solutions. There are plenty of solutions to our problems, but they want none of it. Life actually isn't that complicated.
Biden, with his massive support group; think tanks, atomic bombs and quantum computers, mountains of gold and ammunition, full control over the seas and air, and even outer space, full dictatorship over our voices, ears, and faces, will still screw this up because he's a wicked bastard and even success is failure for them. He's obviously not that sharp either. Just ask him. He'll tell ya.
The speculation that he'll be dead shortly, or just removed from his post because he is indeed an idiot, is probably a good prediction.
There is a lot in the world that can't be predicted, though. I'm hoping for a big asteroid, one last T-bone steak, and a dance with my baby girl. Then I'd like to be done with it, but I know that's not going to happen. However stuff does happen and when it does, this pack of dorks the world has propped up for leadership will be able to handle none of it. Bill Gates (maybe the smartest of the bunch?) can't even make a browser that works. He has to be the single worst software developer the world has ever seen. What's he going to do? These people have no ability to even offer solutions. They need a global conspiracy just to survive a year, and that won't even be enough in the long run.
Personally, I can't wait to see it all fly apart. I can barely stand to wake up another day and still be here in this covid-19 Disney land...I'm moody, but I'll never be happy with this.
