Elias Agas, 46, was working at the £4.8 million site on Rinca Island when the 90kg beast "tore several parts of his body".
He was then frantically whizzed off the island by speedboat to a nearby hospital as the bite from a Komodo can be deadly if not treated quickly.
Staff at the park claim that they responded immediately to the incident when they heard what had happened.
The park's head of security Julius Buki told local media: "Upon receiving this information, fellow rangers ... were at the location immediately [and] managed to evacuate the victim."
The humongous lizard was only a few feet away from Agas when it struck, according to witnesses of the incident.
The Jurassic Park-esque resort which has been billed as the real life version of Steven Spielberg's fictional tale has already caused controversy amongst conservationists.
Speaking on the resort, local activist Gregorius Afioma said: "People come here to see Komodos in their natural habitat ... these people are selling a concept where (visitors) can walk around indoors to see Komodo dragons, which to me is no different than a zoo.
"The idea to build a Jurassic Park is honestly embarrassing."
His claims have been backed by a viral photo which captures an intense stand off between a truck and a Komodo in the jungle.
Conservationists argue that it showed how the noisy trucks and destruction have disturbed the giant lizards.
Afioma added: "This is probably the first truck to enter the Komodo dragon conservation area since the Komodo dragon came to the world's attention in 1912."
What are Komodo dragons? But following the leak of the truck and Komodo incident, the government denied that the vid was linked to the tourist development.
Komodo dragons are the world's largest lizard and have thrived in a harsh part of Indonesia for millions of years.
These prehistoric creatures are related to snakes and will eat almost anything they find from deer, pigs, water buffalo. But the ever hungry lizards have also been known to devour smaller members of their own kind.
Dragons can consume an astonishing 80 per cent of their body weight in a single meal.
They have muscular tails, long, flat heads with a rounded snout, bowed legs and a sinister, snake like forked tongue. They possess sharp claws and shark like teeth which they use to devour their prey.
They kill what they hunt using the more than 50 strains of bacteria in their saliva to poison their quarry's blood, causing death within 24 hours.
Despite the controversy and concern surrounding the resort, authorities unveiled their plans to build at Rinca Island with a promotional video complete with the theme music from the Jurassic Park movie.
In October, a government official said: "If we control it well and minimise contact with wildlife, the current tourism development will not endanger the Komodo population."
Rinca Island is currently home to roughly a thousand of the world's remaining 3,000 Komodo's.'
But their numbers are dwindling and it's predicted that they will be extinct by 2050 due to climate change.
The world's largest lizard can grow up to ten feet long, have venomous bites and use their trunk-like necks to slash at their prey until they fall weak enough to go for the jugular.
A BBC crew felt the wrath of the beast first-hand when one tore apart one of their cameras after a failed sexual escapade with it.
The crew who were filming a nature show, had hidden the camera inside a fake female Komodo who was placed amongst the monstrous reptiles.
When it became evident that it wouldn't be getting any action, the Komodo took its frustration out on a nearby imitation pig who also had a camera inside it to catch the action from another angle.
Executive producer John Downer said: "With its massive claws this dragon starts raking at the skin of the 'female', and there's nothing you can do because you can't intervene."
The Komodo dragon's have a track record of attacking humans in Indonesia.
In 2017, Lon Lee Alle, 50, from Singapore, was mauled by a dragon at Komodo National Park when he ventured away from tour guides.
Officials said Lon had wandered around the island on his own because he wanted to save money instead of paying for a guide.
Captain Rama Hasan said: ''This was a pretty silly thing to do. You should be very careful near wildlife, particularly Komodo dragons.
"The man was in pain. He was lucky there were people around to help him, or it could have been much worse.''

He was to be gone for approximately 2 weeks and it was my job to see that they all thrived. First and foremost was how to feed the rattlesnakes which were kept in burlap bags. "Now all you do is grab the end of the bag and lift it so that you have the snake at the bottom of the bag (each rattlesnake was also kept in a deep topless box and at times wandered from their burlap sack at which time to get them inside the burlap sack for feeding was a simple stick used to lift them and place them inside the bag) then with pinkie in hand merely drop the pinky inside the sack and gently drop the sack into the box"
Tom went on "Now here in the living room are 4 Iguanas their foods are fruits and vegetables.Geckos get crickets and this eats this that eats that and don't forget to feed the mice and crickets and all need fresh water. "
"Okay" Tom said as he grabbed his gear and started to leave "Any questions before I go? Ask now because I won't be reachable in Baja"
I was going over my notes " Back room breeding of mice, rattlesnake boxes and water faucet, living room iguanas, this room geckos etc etc"
I opened the door to a bathroom and inside the bathtub was a Monitor Lizard that took up the whole tub with his tail about half the tub length longer.
"You don't have to bother with him he is sick" as Tom pulled the bathroom door closed..
The first few hours were a rather nerve racking thrill. By the next day I had the system down and all went smoothly.
After all were cared for I went to the bathroom and peeked inside at the massive Monitor Lizard.
It was then that although intimidated by it's size I was also deeply moved with saddness for it's suffering. I walked inside the bathroom ever so carefully while talking to him as one would talk to a lost and/or injured dog.
The Monitor was quite listless never lifting his head which was beneath the tub faucet. "You must be thirsty and what do you eat?" I said to him in awe. I knew that mice or pinkies would be too much effort for him to eat, crickets too small perhaps fruits or vegatables and maybe some tuna fish and maybe some ground beef and oh yes Eggs! the ultimate food.
I left and returned with a selection of soaked in milk bread, hamburger cooked and raw, eggs hard boiled, soft boiled and raw, tuna fish, lettuce, orange slices and water in a dish, turkey baster and cup.
Thus began the most memorable and emotionally moving time in my Life. Little by little I nervously offered him different foods hating myself when my nervousness made me drop the can of tuna in the tub when he started to lift his head
"I'm sorry" I told him it's just that you are so intimidating !" He flicked his beautiful tongue for the first time. We were bonding.
And bond we did! My days now began with the feeding and watering of all the others and my afternoons well into the night with the Monitor Lizard.
All was done in awe, intimidation and caring respect. I could now touch him, feed him whole hardboiled eggs by hand and give him water with a trickling from the tub faucet. And his favorite wet cat food served on a hot dog bun.
One afternoon he stood up and turned his head toward me which made me shake nervously while realizing that he needed to get out of the tub. Perhaps go outside in the yard and stretch and get some sun.
Picking him up must have taken 3 hours as I would get scared and stop and try to figure out what was the best way to lift him which was like lifting a Collie or German Shepard that had a weight on the end.
When I did get him out of the tub I had to, with my arms just under his front legs , hold him against my body his tail down past my feet.
Long story short, when Tom returned some 3 weeks (not 2) later I had made a complete backyard home with basking area , hiding area, blankets for night, soaking area, watering area, pumice type rocks for nails and skin sloughing feeding stations and a chair for me to witness the Monitor Lizard's transformation.
I never did learn what happened to that most magnificent creature my friend the Monitor Lizard. But I hope to see him "on the other side"
A question: "then with pinkie in hand" - last time I checked, I've always got a pinky in hand. I've got to guess that a 'pinkie' is some sort of critter food?
Was your job title a monitor monitor?
I love critters!

whoa. rarely do sott comments induce optical condensate, your’s however, well... moving.
perhaps you are moving from a life of unbalance to one of equilibrium ?
And, I might add that with each and every feeding I would say "May you evolve to a higher self" corny but true!
May you be well in our turbulent times my fellow SOTT reader.
